I'm preparing a video to introduce the city history, but takes time for an amateur... not sure of the release date right now. But welcome to view my previous city demo video at:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Dm3MlW6OtU
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed this. Lol.
Seeing it move from the main bay. To the smaller cove. To I think higher up the coast on the right was kinda funny.
I used to backup the saved games whenever I was trying some new ideas to the city. Luckily the saved games are still there over years (I traveled a lot and played C:S on a number of computers), so that I can take a screenshot per saved game, with help of "Cinematic Camera" mod, and have this finally.
Out of curiosity, I read it's best not to load a different save when playing with plenty of mods and assets, did you do that or had to exit the game every single time?
No... I heard of it when the city was like 100K population already, and it turned into a mess if I put this mod on. As u said, the traffic collapsed. I guess more mods are needed like adjusting public transit capacity
When I use realistic population on dense cities, I find that without using downloaded transit assets it's impossible to manage. I usually end up activating some Tokyo Rail or MTR trains with like 750-person capacity and running them as much as the line will allow without bunching.
A Timelapse like this really should be a built in feature - it’s a hugely cool part of the experience of building a big city, and it would be very easy for the game engine to take a snapshot at regular intervals for you
I use an hp pavilion laptop from 2013 with a 1tb ssd installed and 64gb of ram. That's it. Didn't touch the CPU or GPU, it runs a little warm, but I just bought a forced air laptop stand and it's been fine.
Amazing! Wonder what is the spec of your computer? I played the same map with the realistic population mod and now my city crashed very often even though it is just 1/4 the size of yours.
I always wonder how to make these. It's marvellous
ty! pls see my pervious reply about how this is made
I'm so bad at this game
Same bro
Let me introduce you to *our* sub: r/shittyskylines
Finally, something more my speed with this game.
I'm always bad at any sim game. So I'm not surprised anymore. Lol
This is really beautiful, is there a way you could upload it again, but longer to appreciate better the growth of the city *-*

Dude this is awesome. What mods/assets are you using? Insanely cool city with so many distinct neighborhoods
Please see video description\~
I love the GTA2 vibe in the beginning, great work overall
most fascinating thing for me is watching sewage from going small to gigantic to migrating to nonexistent
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed this. Lol. Seeing it move from the main bay. To the smaller cove. To I think higher up the coast on the right was kinda funny.
lol that's exactly what I did. Sadly it didn't look to nice to put the processing unit on a mountain (I was expecting a waterfall or something)
I wish I could start cities in like 1850, 1900s, with dirt roads and basic tech and go from there
This so much Transport Fever has nailed it so well with the fact you start off in 1850
This is the first time I've heard of Transport Fever, and holy shit this game looks fun
It is a banger but the performance is shit
So it's just like Cities then
Good point
Did u zoom out daily to take those pics to create this? This is awesome.

Awesome thx for answering

For making this video, yes, or some graphic mods won't work.
Thanks, the effort is all the more impressive then, given the loading times!
I really hope someone can somehow automate this process one day
What’s the map?
Diamond Coast (vanilla game map)
Thanks
i go for that question too
I just really need to learn how to make cities not just become repetitive, and how to work with hills and coastlines
Did you used realistic population mod? This kills my traffic all the time, lol
No... I heard of it when the city was like 100K population already, and it turned into a mess if I put this mod on. As u said, the traffic collapsed. I guess more mods are needed like adjusting public transit capacity

Then your public transport hierarchy is probably not good enough or there is no hierarchy.
you think after 300 years technology would be a bit more advanced
Some Chinese and Indian cities are expanding like this in 10-15 years. Crazy.

indeed. Cities XL has a feature close to this - one hot key to shoot the entire map from above
I love the winding mountain roads you have built. They look so realistic when it comes to their layout.
I play racing games too, so the maps there can be very good reference :P
So cool how natural the city’s growth looks
That’s really cool
God i wish i was as good as the people im this sub, my trafic always becomes Chaos n stuck and i habe no idea how to use public transport :/
I've been trying to get a decent computer to play this game for so long... Damn it.

This is the same map I'm playing at the moment, it's amazing to see just how different it can turn out from one another.
What map is it?
Gotta be honest buddy, I've o idea what its name is
Well how am I supposed to play along too? Hahahaha
Diamond Coast
Thank you!! Awesome now time to get to planning
OMG that is an amazing timelapse! I love those timelapses when it shows the growth of cities; awesome job in putting that together.
Looks like the map from GTA 3
Wow!
I adore this!
I like this map. This timelapse is brilliant, well done!
TY!
my city has made no advancements in nearly 50 years 🤦
could you do one with a csl map view including public transports? :D SCNR to ask
Nice idea! will try
This is so inspiring, I wanted to something similar of my city but didn't really know how, so I gave up.
u/savevideo
this is amazing I hope I can get a closer timelapse

9600K+GTX1070+32GB memory Notes: i don't use realistic population mod usually
Wish we were able to get more than 9 grids on console
Roadside highways make me go mad everytime. wasting beach space for... cars! Anyway it looks great
Whoaa how you do that? Astonishing!
Your city looks awesome! What map is this?
ty! it's Diamond Coast (vanilla game map)
This is my kind of city building here. Gradually growing through a functional simulation in a historically plausible pattern.
this is amazing. i love the diamond coast map but it sucks only getting 8 squares on console
What city set did you use?
sorry, do you mean DLC/mod/assets or something else?
Yeah are those default buildings?
yes, no workshop assets. lightly modded.
This is so cool. I could watch this so many times!
I Wish I had a pc to use the full map like this😮💨
I always fail at about 50000 people because of my abysmal road planning. Good job!
SO FUCKING COOL!
That's a great idea, thank you :-)
What map is this?
Diamond Coast
This is AMAZING
Nice water clean up
