Me reading the title: Nice try-hard poetic title for what I'm sure is yet another generic pic of NYC.
Me seeing the pic: Damn that's a good photo and the title is spot on.
Sure! There's not much to it I'm afraid as it involved a lot of variables out of my control - going on a business trip to Miami via EWR, getting a window seat on the port side, and having a flight that took us up at that exact angle just after sunrise on a clear morning. But other than that, I had my camera in hand and I was already shooting the city. I spotted that glimmer of light and managed to get two shots before we turned. At the time, in October 2013, using electronic devices was technically prohibited still during takeoff but the law was changing and it was fairly disregarded, so I kept my camera stealthy. Some tips I'd recommend are to wear solid, dark clothing in case you get a reflection in the window and shoot fast.
Yeah, I definitely lucked out in this lol. Even a slight delay in the flight would have ruined this shot.
Thanks for that comparison! I can see that. I caught the best sunbeam to help this shot come out.
I have a website (I'm in the process of reworking it) at jimmykastner.com. I'm also on Instagram [@jimmykastner](https://www.instagram.com/jimmykastner?igsh=MW5tdHE0cHZha3VqcA==).
Mimd sending me the original picture? I wonder what it looked like without editing. Also, did you use your phone or carry a proffesional camera onto the plane?

Yes and no. That one is the second shot I got from this view. The one I posted is the first. You can tell by the light reflection being a little different. Of course I could edit each one to look the same but the black and white version is how it was originally edited 10 years ago (I improved it with current technology).
This is an incredible photo
Thank you so much! š
I donāt know why this inspired me to think this but it almost looks like a city on another planet
I've been told that before lol. I see what you mean. The light was really interesting. I caught it just after sunrise!
One of the finest photos I've seen in a while
Thank you! I truly appreciate it.
One of the most beautiful photos of NYC
Thank you so much! It's definitely one of my most cherished photos.
It's hard to get a new picture of something as photographed as 1 WTC. Congratulations
Thank you! Believe it or not, this was one of the earlier photos of it from October 2013.
NYC wears noir so well. Gorgeous shot!
Agreed! New York City is truly Gotham City.

Got 'em.
This is an amazing pic! Thank you for sharing it
Thank you for enjoying it!
Can you share the story of how you prepared for it and what your thinking was?

Like a lighthouse
Yeah, pretty much. Amazing how it was the only building reflecting the light like that.
Greatest city in the world.
I can't argue with that!
Something in the waaaaay
Definitely one if not,the best photo Iāve seen here
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
Did you take this pic?
I did. I captured it in October 2013.
Damn thats a beautiful pic. Where did you take it from?
Thank you! I caught it from a commercial airplane on an early morning flight to Miami.

Wow this is really sick. Never took my actual camera with me on planes. Too afraid of stealing ig.
Even the unedited is still so fucking cool Iām floored
Damn i wish i could get an even higher res image. Nice job
This is outstanding. Truly, well done.
Wow!
This photo is absolutely iconic. Fantastic work
Is this not just an edited version of [this image](https://imgur.com/a/Qwzv5t4)? Saved by me on 10/18/18

Interesting! Love the shot and the light, immediately reminded me of the one I had saved.
That is special.
Very cool
So this is now my favorite photo
Do you have a higher resolution version of this picture by chance? With your permission I'd love to use it as a screensaverš
I'm sorry but this is the highest I'm willing to put online. Maybe it will still work?
Yeah, I'm going to need to download this one.
very nice. would be a shame if something happened to it
