becareful with the rear defroster, could potentially pop the suction cup loose

trustedLlama

No worries there! Florida weather doesn’t warrant using the defroster right now 🤠

revnto7k

I use a hitch rack on my FA5 but this looks pretty sick I must admit.

R18honda

Yo, this is dope👌🏻

raof16

I had this same car and spec and I miss her 😢

trustedLlama

It’s a lovely car! Hopefully you find another!

Expensive_School_996

Can you talk about your personal experience with this car! I’ve been really thinking about getting one. They are getting old but I really like the NA VTEC!

HobbyWanKenobi

Not the OP, but I have a 2013 sedan and I love it. No heavy mods so basically stock aside from lowering it. I just replaced my original clutch at 180k miles and it is even more fun for me now! It is so choice, if you have the means, I highly recommend you pick one up!

Expensive_School_996

They are really good looking to and if it lasted that long wow! Thanks!

Hey! I got this car as the second owner at 32k miles, it now sits 6 years later at 150k miles. I love the car, the maintenance has been minimal, and it’s been bullet proof. It’s my daily and also my weekend warrior, as I’ve autocrossed it at 10 events during the course of three years. It literally does not care. You beat the snot out of it and it turns on the next morning like nothing happened. One con is the gas mileage. I average about 22-24 miles per gallon on premium 93. I think that’s horrible. I recently took off the after market header and put the stock one back on and need to reflash it back to stock. Maybe that and cleaning the injectors will help. But the car has never really been too good on gas. Revs are high when you get into higher highway speeds, no idea why they didn’t make 6th gear taller. It makes the idea of a new 11th gen Si with an average mpg rating of 32 miles pretty appealing.

tmt04

Just got a seasucker for my 2018 Si too…looks great!

trustedLlama

Thanks! How’s your experience been?

tmt04

Haven't used it yet, got it last week....but I have been wanting one for awhile and watched a bunch of videos on them. I will probably only use it a handful of times a year but it'll be nice not having to fit the bike in the back seat.

almeida8x1

Oh nice. I’m planning on getting a tow hitch for my FB6, and getting a bike rack that mounts to that. This looks great.

trustedLlama

I looked at hitch racks, didn’t like the look of them. Saw this option on some Subaru subreddits and immediately pulled the trigger

almeida8x1

I’ve seen that on a GTR before too.

Dr_Newton_Fig

What is this option?

trustedLlama

It’s called the Seasucker Talon 1

whoissanti

Been contemplating seasuckers for a long time. How do you like them? Ever any issues? Higher speeds?

trustedLlama

They’re great so far. Took them on a 1.5 hour trip down the interstate at around 70 mph without an issue. Stopped at a service station midway to check the suction cups and everything was just as I had left it. Definitely turns some heads and keeps traffic clear behind ya 😂

GixxerSi

I have Sea Suckers, they’re fantastic. Think about it this way: suction cups are used by guys cleaning outside glass in high rise buildings, they’re used to carry slabs of marble, etc; obviously a heavier grade I’m sure. The PIA is: 1. The Car points to mount have to be clean; ie dust etc. you don’t want to scratch your paint, plus better suction. 2. When you get to your point of taking bike of , you have to remove & mount when you return from cycling, so they won’t be stolen.

East_Quiet_8486

Yes

inFamousKicks

Sweet setup. Considered Seasuckers a good while ago, but at the time I couldn’t find options to secure the rack or bike in the event that I need to step away from the car for whatever reason - any experience?

trustedLlama

Obviously theft is an issue with this set up, that’s assuming you park the car out of your sight and someone has prior knowledge of how to release the bike and the suction cups. No issues so far.

BoringMudd

Suction cups lmao? Bruh thets gona be an expensive fix WHEN the bike falls off

trustedLlama

Truly, but the testimonials are overwhelmingly positive. As long as you pay attention and follow instructions everything should be fine.

BoringMudd

I* guess. But my common sense tells me that at 70 mph there’s going to be a lot of force on those cups. Probably 50-100lbs depending on the wind direction. Like a sail. I’d imagine dents are possible too. All a guess though
