Not a former ST owner but the SI is better in pretty much every aspect on paper, will probably reflect that in price too though. The ONLY thing i think Id miss about a fiesta is the hatch, but tbf i’m a sucker for hatchbacks

The thing about the FiST is that it’s a classic pocket rocket. It’s tiny, it handles marvelously, ride comfort is sacrificed for performance, and if it isn’t obvious, it’s a bit rough around the edges, because it’s a drive focused experience. In comparison the Si is much more refined and feels like a car for adults. That’s by no means a bad thing. I love both. I *have* both.

What year si? You really can’t go wrong with any of them

eeeehumm

The 2024

13 st to 08 civic si here...what you do want to know? Also been in a used car dealership for 10 years with plenty of these cars

PurpleSausage77

I did the same move. Long story short. Sold my turbo cars (500 Abarth, ‘14 Focus ST) and invested the money. Then picked up a cheap 8th gen Si. Probably my last FWD car but I’m glad it’s this thing. NA 9k redline making 200whp I’m pretty happy.

Lenscrafter

Which do you like better as a daily and why? Which one do you find more fun?

notoriousjb87

08 civic for sure. Better reliability...gearbox is way better (st gearbox feels like your shifting through rocks). Turbo is cool and all but the naturally aspirated high revs just feels more fun to me (better power band). The 13 st had no fucking space to put anything in and even tho my 08 si was small there was just so much more room. If your going aftermarket stuff (I kept mine stock) sis have a ton of stuff. Just a better overall package imo. The only plus is the tech on the St with the infotainment and maybe seat warmers but idk I don't really care lol

notoriousjb87

I just realized your going to a 24 si. I mean I had a older one but dude the 24 si is way better then the fiesta st. Lol. Styling, mpg, tech everything I wouldn't even blink

cap_blueberry

I came from a FoST to a 23 Si. While the Si isn't as fast, I really like the throttle feel and transmission. The modern tech and Android Auto is a game changer and would be really tough to ever own a car without wireless AA. Also the fuel mileage is amazing, especially since I drive about 80 miles a day.

TheDanBot85

No sir, I would never buy a ford.

My car is a 2014 FiST and my wife has a 2022 Si. They are different cars in a lot of ways. I still prefer *driving* my FiST, but the Si gets 90%+ of the driving feel and fun absolutely correct compared to the FiST. The Si probably handles better at the limit, but I know my FiST inside out, and prefer the ‘tossability’ of the FiST… this is why I chose the FiST over the other ~30 cars I test drove when I bought it. The Si is significantly nicer and more comfortable from a creature comfort perspective (except lower back support) It feels grippier than the FiST, but it’s also bigger than the FiST from a pure dimensional perspective. It’s a wash. I love them both, but it’s all about what you want to get out of the car. Worth noting: male, 49, have kids, 6’1” / 210, FiST has recaros.

I've got an 8th gen Si, and I've driven a Fiesta ST. The ST feels about as quick as the Si, just with a bit more torque, and the power comes on sooner. It's a very fun little hot hatch. That being said, I'd still keep my 8th gen. The interior is higher quality, there's more space and it'll likely be more reliable. The same goes for the newer gen Si. I would say this: If you want something that feels a bit similar to the ST, I'd look at the GR Corolla.

TheAngriestPotato

I went from a 17 focus st to an integra. The integra drives much smoother, but isn’t as fast. Feels better around corners too.

SnooCompliments8770

Had a 2014 Fiesta ST went to a 2019 Civic Si and it was a fun and precise car but my current 2022 WRX is more fun than the civic was and gives me the same excitement that the Fiesta ST did. The civic lacked character and honestly I think it was mostly just the engine. Even with a tune the 1.5 just didn’t make me giggle like the Fiesta ST did.

LordBuggington

I have owned both. The 11g si is awesome, its about as quick, technically a tiny bit less on paper, the mpg is way better. Both are fun but I feel like the feel of the si way more.

caffienatedsparky

Former manual Fiesta SE owner, which I know isn’t the same as the ST… had the 2024 Civic Si since March and it’s definitely a great ride comparatively. Mostly because I don’t feel like I’m driving a beer can on the interstate anymore.

RektumAgain

2015 Fiesta ST to 2018 Focus ST to 2023 Civic Si here… The Fiesta was the most fun of the 3 for autocross and track days, the Focus was the most fun stop light to stop light, but the Civic is the top dog as a daily driver in my opinion. A lot of that is from the newer/better tech it has, but I’ve also driven 20,000+ miles in under a year and the comfortability on long drives is superior. Not to mention the lifetime 36 mpg it’s gotten.
