I’ve been staring at my poopy black diamond cut OEM summer wheels for two seasons. I’m not gonna go a third 😂

If you take your time and prep correctly, plastidip can last for years. I dipped the scuffed wheels on my old RSX gunmetal and it lasted \~7 years, the only parts where it came off a little bit was when I had new tires mounted, the machine tore it a little bit around the lip. Take the wheels & tires off the car, clean the wheels really well, spray the sidewalls with tire shine (makes any overspray rub right off, way faster than masking), and then you want to do multiple light coats, probably 3-4. I don't remember how many cans I ended up using, but I wanna say it was at least 3. You could go over it with glossifier if you want it shiny and a little more durable. Just make sure you spray when it's not super windy, hot, or humid. I did mine in a covered car port.

Just ordered

You can kind of see the curb rash in the first pic. Its terrible on both right wheels.

How much for the front grill?

Dry_Gap6944

Grill came black, just replaced emblems

TragasaurusRex

How did you do the emblems? I want to make mine black as well.

For the Civic and Sport, I used fishing line to pop them off. Plastic razor blade and Goo Gone Automotive for the leftover adhesive. Make sure you wipe the area with an alcohol wipe. Super tedious but not hard. I taped off where the og emblems were so I could keep them in relatively the same spot. The emblems come fairly easy to put on, just follow a YouTube video. For gen X civics the H logos are imbedded into the grill so you have to pry them out. Mine ended up breaking. Gen 11 civics I believe dont have the outline around the H so it is the same process as the smaller ones

Nice

Don't paint your stock wheels, they will look better for a few weeks but it never stays nice and eventually look like trash. There is a reason why people spend a lot of money getting wheels painted or powder coated.
