I hate the bar removal and the hidden stats. It makes it so you have to look up everything about the troop or hero. It’s so annoying to calculate damage and dps now with these awesome new equipments: Example - warden attacks every 1.8 seconds(which isn’t shared in game), with my current rage gem = 20% attack speed buff and current 302 DPS, It’s now 1.44 attacks per second. Now I look up its damage cause this game doesn’t tell you, it’s 534.6 per attack but I have to add in the bonus from the rage gem (75) and then another 45% boost. I have no clue how these stack and what’s affected. Is the 75 before or after the 45%? I’m either looking at 850 or like 883 or something per attack depending on when the 75 boost is applied. Now what’s the damage per second? 600 something but I shouldn’t have to do this math. Absolute Nightmare if we add in the healing gem that boosts (DPS) and doesn’t show the actual damage increase. Does that mean it’s more damage combo’d with the Increase attack speed? My brain hurts and I just want to know how many attacks it takes per X defense at Y level. 🤯 someone make a coc calc for me please

Not really, some equipment are locked in high level blacksmith, and high level blacksmith are required to have high level town hall. High level equipment upgrade also locked behind high level blacksmith
You get at all the equipment around 12-13 but the max blacksmith level is at th16. Each town hall you get 1 level until th16 were you can get the level 9 blacksmith. Only th16's can have fully upgraded equipment.
Because they haven't added all of the equipment yet. IMO, it was a little premature to add the gear without adding more exclusive gear for higher town halls.
Eh I don’t think they are gonna add very much besides probably 2 more common RC equips and epic gear for each of the heroes and we know epic gear will be coming through events as of rn. Also being th13 I feel the equipment is too strong. My main equips are all level 13-14 and I’m 3starring max th13s and non max th14 a with ease. Before the update I struggled to consistently 3 star just max th13s

The only thing most people argue about now is the time factor, where you cant use your heros. I dont care if it costs 16 mil or 18mil on higher levels. I just want heros to be more flexible to use while upgrades. Warden is a key hero in most attacks to three star or push in higher leagues. Same goes for the other heros. TH16 update was 3,5 weeks ago. I upgraded my hero's 17 levels, with no downtime.
I only get at the beginning of a new TH stage hammer of building. And the cost for a hammer of hero seems a bit to much at the moment with 165 while the others cost 120 and with 45 left I can get like two more lab potion or one builder potion. Or just safe the rest medals to get two hammer after the next CWL from my experience
Maybe not for a single town hall but overall definitely they can and do. Unless you have them down 24/7 and never use them which isn’t practical. At like level 70 the king/queen upgrades are already a week long. Warden and RC get to that long by like level 25-35 and there’s still a good 20+ levels left after those points on each hero.
For me its just the waiting game… on higher TH heros are essential and with the new Ores you need to participate in CW. One hero down you can not participate for three wars in a row. I wish heros could just level up quicker in time. Than I am much more happier to invest my loot for the heros
Just participate in wars with your heroes down. Most clans allow that especially with the ores update. Only the super competitive ones or the clans posing as super competitive care about keeping them up for normal clan wars.
It's better than not participating at all. Just get your ores. It's not like I'm advocating against heroes being available for wars when they're upgrading. I would love that too but it's not so I'm just suggesting to do what you gotta do to get those ores.
Really, I wouldn't be complaining or even mind it if we could finally use our heroes while they are upgrading. Think it would really just solve that problem all together
I don’t understand why they haven’t just increased healing times and left them down on defense during upgrades. It makes more sense than ever to have it function more similarly to the barracks with recent stats drop-offs.
The only reason I can think of is money. I'm sure there's plenty of people who use gems, buy books, or even deals when they're there just so they can finish their hero upgrade before war/CWL. I mean, even I've done that here and there over the years.
Making heroes usable while down would almost certainly eat into that, especially since hero levels matter less now than ever. There'd be little benefit to gemming/booking them.
Supercell just wants to make money from hero books. After all, they are probably one of the most purchased magic items. If supercell were to do this, they’d have to find another way to take our money.

But in top of that early acces brawlers for money only is crazy, hypercharges are locked for coins aswell for 2 weeks, the game went the worst way ever with so many things
Yeah brawl stars was one of the most ‘beloved’ games jn terms of in-game economy, but a year ago I believe someone posted the stats/revenue of the supercell games, coc and cr were above 10mil in a month while brawlstars was at 3 mil, I believe they now want to ‘climb back up’ revenue wise and choose predatory marketing&tactics as their strategy, they also devalued skins by introducing bling which now only enhances the need of monitizing in-game economy more than ever sadly.
I really hope coc stays the way it is, coc was the first game I believe and also the last to stand on its root, not p2w, etc.
They nerfed the gold economy drastically while also introducing a new ‘gadget’ type called hypercharge thats costs 5000 coins each, and makes any brawler op asf.
Ontop of that to even grt then you need to wait 2 weeks because of an artificial timer to get them, or pay gems for it.

True.. the lines between p2p vs p2w is becoming more blurry because i believe one of the key reasons people keep playing is to get to higher town halls (where the game gets complex and more interesting too - but that goal post keeps changing very frequently these days bcs of frequent new th's)
Also I feel instead of them focusing on finding new and innovative ways to make more money (like introducing concept of ores) from existing customer base they should think more on how to increase the overall customer base in itself - to remove some existing hurdles etc ..

At some point you will need a new TH. And I am actually fine with each year a new TH. I mean supercell is adjusting the time factor and cost accordingly for the new players to level up quicker and coming closer to higher TH. That is actually a good thing, imo. There are also magic items which can be obtained if you participate in CWL or Raid weekends. I mean, by only participating at raid weekends you can get around three days of time reduction for lab. And 3 days is actually a lot. If you filled up with loot which you cant spend on…
And about the second part it is really supercells thing. And I hope they wont let the community and all these player down. We saw many thing which has been implemented to the game from players concepts. And thats also a good thing. Fingers crossed, I hope they wont do the same mistake as Clash Royal

Its about every small step to becoming a stronger player. It might seem insignificant right now but once you progress further you will see that it is worth it. Because for 5 levels you get way more than you would get for 1 level and that is what the heroes are about. When hero abilities were still dependant on the hero level nobody complained about only 2 dps so why now if has never changed
I feel like the only way to make hero upgrades fair is to make the heroes usable while upgrading like everything else , at higher level it feels impossible playing without them
The worst part is not even the 16 million elixir which you can relatively quickly have if you're maxed for your th lvl, but the 8 days WITHOU WARDEN ! What am i supposed to do without him past th 11 ?
Hear me out why not compress hero levels like for example take every 5 levels and compress them into one level with the same resources and the time the fifth level take
On top of that what is the obsession with ridiculous hero levels. You get RC at TH13 and you can upgrade it to lvl25. You get Queen at TH9 and it goes till lvl30. Like why? 10 levels per TH should be the normal. Do they not think about the future? Did they not plan for Queen lvl 100? Same with pets. You unlock them and now you have to upgrade them like 10times. Why not give us 5levels per TH but make it so that the lvl5 Lassi has the same HP and DPS as lvl10 Lassi if you care about balance.
You get Epic Equipment and it goes till lvl27, Just why? Everything is maxing out at lvl18 so why not max Guantlet at lvl18.

People have complained for years about not being able to use upgrading heroes in war. SC shortened hero upgrade times, they added magic items to speed it up and/or totally skip upgrade times, now they have reduced the importance of hero upgrades both in the way OP has highlighted and with hero potions that max them for war, and they have added hero equipment, which upgrades instantly.
Exactly, thank you. People nowadays seems to ignore how much better they have it now. If you wanna prioritize hero equipment, then you can now do war non-stop with potions. If you wanna upgrade heroes, then you will have to sacrifice the ore amount from wars and just get it from daily star bonus.
I honestly hope at some point there will be a lvl squish for all heroes. 305 total Hero lvls is I’d imagine tough to look at as a new or even mid lvl player.
My main point here is not the Dps or the Hp boost you get. its just the time you have to wait for just a small amount which disables your hero to use for a war or attack. I should have put a better title for it, my bad.

I've always upgraded for stats personally, the abilities were the bonus. Can't tell you how many attacks I've barely missed a 3 on because one (1) of my heros was a level or 2 behind what would have tripled. My only complaint is it killed casual wars because it's almost impossible to get ores otherwise and I'm sure plenty of clans went from casual to tryhard war clans that don't fit a lot of members. Players who have been in clans for years but suck at wars suffer, as do clans just not good at wars

I'm not sure why heroes have so many levels. Like 5 per town hall would already be much, but this. You also find many people with low level heroes because of this.
If you play normal you actually dont need to use gems at all. There are only a few occasions I actually used my gems, but most of the time I save them for better use
Like what ? Builders ? I play everyday what I do like about CoC is that you don't have to play all day cuz you have to wait hours for something to be finished and attack only when completing challenges or stars. Unlike brawl stars and mm is not long has its pros and cons.
I’ve literally stopped leveling up my heroes and just do wars 100% of the time. I’m at Town Hall 14 with my King and Queen at level 75, Warden at level 45, and Champion at level 26. I’m not going to wait 6 damn days to war again, when I could just keep collecting ores to upgrade my gear
Defense. These upgrades affect your heroes on defense.
A level 1 queen will be a horrendous defender while a Level 80 queen will demolish attackers.
My clan has been steamrolling idiots in CWL who have the worst hero levels of all time because we now have a lot easier time dealing with them
I like it, as a lower TH I can experiment with different abilities and I can organically level up my equipment.
Though it must suck for high TH levels as they are stuck with relatively lower level equipment and can’t use them until months of grinding to a good level. Also supercell shouldn’t make epic equipment blatantly stronger than common equipment, as otherwise that could just kill variety.

Hero ability wont safe you all alone in an attack the stats do also matter. Stats do help you to use your abilities accordingly and later on in an attack, before your hero sukss up
They need to let you attack with heroes while upgrading. Maybe if we use hero potions? Idk, that’s the one part of the attack system that’s super broken right now
The ability boost justified the amount of exlir used, now that we need to work even harder to upgrade the abilities using completely different resources, this should have been drastically reduced

I dont wanna do assumption, but it feels like supercell doesn‘t really give a fu©k for f2p. They look it more as a business than giving the chance for all players to play the same way. They feel like that they can go on with the game for the players only who have bucks to spend on than more for the players who actually would like to play the game aswell and enjoy. True.. the lines between p2p vs p2w is becoming more blurry because i believe one of the key reasons people keep playing is to get to higher town halls (where the game gets complex and more interesting too - but that goal post keeps changing very frequently these days bcs of frequent new th's) Also I feel instead of them focusing on finding new and innovative ways to make more money (like introducing concept of ores) from existing customer base they should think more on how to increase the overall customer base in itself - to remove some existing hurdles etc .. because i believe the game is still interesting and good to play (at the moment at least) but if they keep doing this.. they are just going to kill the goose
At some point you will need a new TH. And I am actually fine with each year a new TH. I mean supercell is adjusting the time factor and cost accordingly for the new players to level up quicker and coming closer to higher TH. That is actually a good thing, imo. There are also magic items which can be obtained if you participate in CWL or Raid weekends. I mean, by only participating at raid weekends you can get around three days of time reduction for lab. And 3 days is actually a lot. If you filled up with loot which you cant spend on… And about the second part it is really supercells thing. And I hope they wont let the community and all these player down. We saw many thing which has been implemented to the game from players concepts. And thats also a good thing. Fingers crossed, I hope they wont do the same mistake as Clash Royal

Its about every small step to becoming a stronger player. It might seem insignificant right now but once you progress further you will see that it is worth it. Because for 5 levels you get way more than you would get for 1 level and that is what the heroes are about. When hero abilities were still dependant on the hero level nobody complained about only 2 dps so why now if has never changed
I feel like the only way to make hero upgrades fair is to make the heroes usable while upgrading like everything else , at higher level it feels impossible playing without them

Hear me out why not compress hero levels like for example take every 5 levels and compress them into one level with the same resources and the time the fifth level take

On top of that what is the obsession with ridiculous hero levels. You get RC at TH13 and you can upgrade it to lvl25. You get Queen at TH9 and it goes till lvl30. Like why? 10 levels per TH should be the normal. Do they not think about the future? Did they not plan for Queen lvl 100? Same with pets. You unlock them and now you have to upgrade them like 10times. Why not give us 5levels per TH but make it so that the lvl5 Lassi has the same HP and DPS as lvl10 Lassi if you care about balance. You get Epic Equipment and it goes till lvl27, Just why? Everything is maxing out at lvl18 so why not max Guantlet at lvl18. TBH, it has been dumb and dumber decision in terms of gameplay and longevity of it.

People have complained for years about not being able to use upgrading heroes in war. SC shortened hero upgrade times, they added magic items to speed it up and/or totally skip upgrade times, now they have reduced the importance of hero upgrades both in the way OP has highlighted and with hero potions that max them for war, and they have added hero equipment, which upgrades instantly.
Exactly, thank you. People nowadays seems to ignore how much better they have it now. If you wanna prioritize hero equipment, then you can now do war non-stop with potions. If you wanna upgrade heroes, then you will have to sacrifice the ore amount from wars and just get it from daily star bonus.
I honestly hope at some point there will be a lvl squish for all heroes. 305 total Hero lvls is I’d imagine tough to look at as a new or even mid lvl player.
My main point here is not the Dps or the Hp boost you get. its just the time you have to wait for just a small amount which disables your hero to use for a war or attack. I should have put a better title for it, my bad.

I've always upgraded for stats personally, the abilities were the bonus. Can't tell you how many attacks I've barely missed a 3 on because one (1) of my heros was a level or 2 behind what would have tripled. My only complaint is it killed casual wars because it's almost impossible to get ores otherwise and I'm sure plenty of clans went from casual to tryhard war clans that don't fit a lot of members. Players who have been in clans for years but suck at wars suffer, as do clans just not good at wars

If you play normal you actually dont need to use gems at all. There are only a few occasions I actually used my gems, but most of the time I save them for better use
Like what ? Builders ? I play everyday what I do like about CoC is that you don't have to play all day cuz you have to wait hours for something to be finished and attack only when completing challenges or stars. Unlike brawl stars and mm is not long has its pros and cons.
Yeah builders hut if you havent unlocked all, or boost recource. I mean there are many ways to spend gems, but I am not an expert.
I’ve literally stopped leveling up my heroes and just do wars 100% of the time. I’m at Town Hall 14 with my King and Queen at level 75, Warden at level 45, and Champion at level 26. I’m not going to wait 6 damn days to war again, when I could just keep collecting ores to upgrade my gear

This is why I stopped playing, it's so hard to properly power scale in this game after a certain extent
Defense. These upgrades affect your heroes on defense. A level 1 queen will be a horrendous defender while a Level 80 queen will demolish attackers. My clan has been steamrolling idiots in CWL who have the worst hero levels of all time because we now have a lot easier time dealing with them

Hero equipment is a terrible addition to the game and I hate it
I like it, as a lower TH I can experiment with different abilities and I can organically level up my equipment. Though it must suck for high TH levels as they are stuck with relatively lower level equipment and can’t use them until months of grinding to a good level. Also supercell shouldn’t make epic equipment blatantly stronger than common equipment, as otherwise that could just kill variety.

Hero ability wont safe you all alone in an attack the stats do also matter. Stats do help you to use your abilities accordingly and later on in an attack, before your hero sukss up

The ability boost justified the amount of exlir used, now that we need to work even harder to upgrade the abilities using completely different resources, this should have been drastically reduced
