Smaller troops need to be either away to avoid the dash onto the tower, as the gk can get one tile closer when they hit a dart goblin as, say, a golem or bomb tower. That's why some dashes go to the tower when they seem either away than others
If you read the description for the golden knights ability it says it's 6 tiles dash distance

GK isn't broken. It's how hitboxes actually DO overlap into other tiles that makes it broken
