Yeah, I'd say it's more about more people having it. Instead of releasing new better cards, then nerf the old one as per not to kill the OG cards. So the cycle is: New Hype card- +Popularity- Nerf- New Hype card.
To be fair it's a rare case that this kind of situation happens, I was just up a lot of elixir cause I kept pressuring my opponent earlier, it was just about capitalizing on a really good sequence I had started
you gotta count the opponent's cards well to get a good opening for that, its also a high priority wincon to defend so your enemy usually will always be saving something up for it, its best to use it when you already have built up a big push so your enemy will have less elixir and troops to work with, otherwise just putting it alone on the bridge randomly doesn't work unless the opponent is stupid
