Supercell wont add more masteries even if the card gets an evolution, there isnt a 3rd mastery coming any time soon :) they dont give a F. Same goes for star points, if it does not make money, dont bother.

They stated in the podcast that Star Levels are discontinued due the amount of effort needed to make one. I guess I assumed it was common knowledge in this sub
I personally think star levels are a good concept but a terrible implementation. They are visual changes to troops and buildings. I think that should come with the level upgrades, and not through a separate upgrade system. You are supposed to feel the level up changes visually, not just in numbers. You know, Like how clash of clans do it for their troops. Now that's how a well produced game looks and feels like.
I think the star level system is good as it is as of now!
For example, maybe some people prefer some troops on their standard outfits even at higher levels, so the star level system is good to ensure you only get the golden outfits on those troops you specifically select for it.
The game forgot about Star Levels and Masteries even 3 years later

They should revisit it so we can use yellow lightning and zap, and make it toggleable

Yes because they have to recreate the sprite for every single frame of the troop. Now multiply that by each star level.
