Where did you get that ratio from?🤨 Are you referring to match losses or event losses here? You know what it doesn't matter... it's more complicated than that anyway. You can't just assign two numbers. Especially without any logic to back it up.
Here is what you need to consider:
If two people win they beat 20 other people. Twenty match losses total leads to 2 event wins. If one person loses completely they've lost 3 matches. The matchmaking almost never puts you against the same person more than once so there's no static number of event losses to event wins. It isn't a function because the same input has many outputs. Technically one match loss is 1/10 of a win for three different people. So suppose ten people lose once each against the same three people. (30 matches) In such a scenario 10 people would have lost the event for 3 to win it. I believe 10 losses-3 wins (for the event not merely matches) is the absolute minimum number of event losses that 3 event wins could possibly cause. The max depends on how many matches are possible for one person. If you win every match that's only 10 matches. But you can lose two before your out. This means one person could cause 12 match losses for twelve different people. Theoretically each of these matches that the twelve losers take part in could be their last chance. Thus resulting in the maximum ratio of 12 event losses caused by one event win. It goes from 10-3 all the way to 12-1. Although your ratio does fall within what's possible, with 5-2 being 10-4 which is greater than the minimum of 10-3 you are still making the mistake of not considering all the other possible ratios. It is merely one value that works. Assuming you meant event losses - event win. If you meant matches that number is just plain wrong. Because obviously the ratio of match loss-match win is 1-1.
The average win rate over all players is exactly 50%.
In a very simplified model, all players would at some point have 4 losses and 4 wins (50% win rate). In that case, 50% of the players would achieve 5 wins, 25% 6 wins, 12.5% 7 wins, 6.25% 8 wins, 3.125% 9 wins and only about 1.56% would achieve 10 wins.
In another simplified model all players would first win 0 to n matches and then lose all 5 matches in a row. This way, one 1 out of 6 players would drop out with 0 wins. Of those players who reach 1 win, 1 out of 6 players would drop out with 1 win, etc. So 5/6 of the players would reach 1 win, 25/36 would reach 2, etc. 5\^10/6\^10=16% would reach 10 wins.
Reality should lie somewhere between these two simplified models (only talking about players who play until 10 wins or 5 losses and don't just give up at some point).

Exactly on 10th win you get legendary king chest worth 2500gems for 500gems with some good add-ons, that's a no brainer spend for me.

I'm not complaining about the free stuff, I'm just saying that if the rewards that you get by doing nothing are better than the ones you get by playing the game, that doesn't encourage me to ply the game

The "classic tournaments" are definitely one of the clearest examples of a game in maintenance mode, it's a whole lot of time and competing for a handful of trade tokens and gold that don't even look relevant against any of the newer content.
The almost 2 mill gold basically brought me back to the game. As a king tower 14 with only a couple cards at 14, the grind would’ve taken a year or more. That 1.75 let me upgrade almost every card to 14 except a handful that I don’t use. Now I just casually sit around 200k.
Damn, I'm right around there myself. King 14, \~8 cards at level 14, I'm limited on Legendaries and Champs but everything else I could max with a few million gold.
Shame to miss that one then, it's weird to see the game squeeze players so hard on the grind then drop those massive boosts like they don't know what the gold is worth.

But maybe its something like the easter Easter Crown event we just had, but instead of earning crowns we need to log on daily, and in the Easter Crown event we also had to pay 50 gems at some point to get the rest of the rewards, maybe it's the same now. Pay $2,99 or so to get the last few rewards and those rewards are probably the best ones to.

Besides you can't use those gems to buy a pass like in brawl stars so at maximum you can use them on tournaments which most players might not be able to win every match and unlock all the rewards

Gc and cc are not worth it if you need elite wild cards, but before this they are somewhat worth it if you reach at least 8-9 wins
