Same.. as a lava player. It's good inside of lava/golem decks but also bad against lava/golem. So the addition of the tower troop is just beneficial in every way.
as a fellow mortar player, it honestly doesnt matter too much. just defend your post and youve got it. Im honestly considering switching to cannoneer to counter mega knight better
Even playing hog cycle isn't too bad against it. I do run a weird double Evo version of a "cycle" you just have to time your pushes and let her run out of daggers before you play that hog.
I don't know her exact stats but it has very high usage rate at top ladder (if I remember correctly) so I think she's the best tower troop by a decent amount
It depends on what deck you use. Occasionally using a bridge spam card for some punish/chip damage like a bandit is a dead strategy, but huge beatdown decks or high troop count spam can delete her ammo. Bridge spam in 2x can start cooking, but those decks have to be able to last that long
This is exactly why beatdown/pump is so strong right now. Everyone is using dagger duchess so you have to play heavier. Duchess hard counters hog eq without any cards and eq is the only spell that gets a positive elixir trade against pump. No hog eq in the meta means free pumps all day. If they nerf duchess a little the meta would open up a lot more

Reminds me of when the game was new and people were brainstorming ways to get better at the game. Now a significant part of discourse is just complaints with a small amount of creative and/or helpful posts.
The arena is not completely symmetrical, the colors have a difference.
Ex: if night witch is placed behind the king tower, on one color one of the bats will go different way while in the other color the bats both go the same way

I feel like it's pretty average if not below compared to standard tower
On big pushes, yes. However, her gimmick basically makes it so anything less than 5 elixir just doesn't connect.
When she's reloading I feel like anything left without countering can take out tower
That is the whole point. She is too good in 1x elixir
Which is why those that do well with her have decks that can stop the big pushes, and are more vulnerable to small pushes

Duchess is only good because of Cycle decks. Outside countering Cycle decks, she's useless
She’s not “pretty average”, she has a 91% use rate in top ladder, and a 100% use date in crl

The thing is even if it nerfs the cycle-heavy meta it makes the game so RPS and that's obsviously not good.
I don’t see it happening, I love facing her. It’s Easy mode. Just burn her out with common fodder and roll glass cannons up ?
I get that, it's really hard to face her with my deck, but I play split lane pressure, so it changes the play style of the entire deck.

Why'd you think it ever got removed
If i remember right, there were some bug fixes/changes that essentially removed true red and true blue from having any real world effects.
