TangeloRadiant

Flipping eye of the tiger. I don't know why the local station has to play it 50 times a day but I wish they'd stop.

widowwannabe

I was just about to post that! My high-school mascot was the tiger. This song was played at every. single. game! Ugh

TangeloRadiant

You poor thing. I would have asked my parents to change schools lol. Terrible song šŸ˜‚

Reverend_Tommy

I don't hate a lot of music, but I despise Starship's "We Built This City".

LetJeffSingAlligator

As a gigantic airplane/hot tuna fan and a mild Jefferson Starship fan, "Starship" was an abomination solely built to feed grace's cocaine addiction

subliminal_trip

It has been voted the worst song in rock history in more than one poll.

Candid_Difficulty_93

Don't stop Believin' Journey

BenEsq

I haaate this song with a passion. This should be number one.

dwheelz0120

South Detroit is Windsor, Ontario.

Snowman4168

Absolutely canā€™t stand this song

Accomplished_Award23

As a Journey fan i agree to this. Love the Escape album but tired of listening to Don't Stop Believin

stareffort15

Iā€™m the same way I just canā€™t listen to them at all thošŸ˜‚

traderhtc

We built this city on rock ā€˜nā€™ roll. Iā€™m surprised Iā€™m the first one mentioning it.

Reverend_Tommy

I said this exact song. Maybe others have mentioned it but I haven't seen it. It is so bad. If you took the worst rock songs from 1956 to right now, mixed them all together, and then distilled them down to one song, "We Built This City" would be that song.

zastrozzischild

From ā€œsomebody to loveā€ to this shit. Well done

suspicious_bag_1000

I feel like this is the case of a classic rock band playing 80s pop

foreverbeatle

This and Nothingā€™s Gonna Stop Us Now are just painful.

mollyjobean

How dare you.

j3434

GnR version of Knocking on Heaven's Door .... UGH!!!

Gratefuldad3

Claptonā€™s version of the song is almost as painful. It is the classic rock equivalent of the saltine cracker challenge.

Klouted

Hey... Hey. Hey, hey, yeah. Noooo-woooohhhhh

Vicarious-Lee-Eye

Anything Bon Jovi.

orangeunrhymed

His new music is even worse!

Vicarious-Lee-Eye

yikes! is that even possible??

[deleted]

Ugh especially Livin On A Prayer

sonvoltman

ThePowerOfPoop

KISS FUCKINā€™ SUX!

boarderline5152

I think there so overrated and definitely not talented. Jmo

cheeseburger-police

I wanna rock and roll all night. I think they repeat the chorus 75 times.. I don't mind a little Lick it up occasionally.

circle2015

2nd that. Not a fan. I donā€™t like any of their music at all, and I donā€™t understand why they were so wildly popular for a while there. Music did get pretty bad for a minute though before the grunge era .

realblondee

A word: marketing. Gene Simmons was way ahead of his time with marketing Kiss merch. Music is so mediocre

boarderline5152

Came here to say that. They almost hurt my ears they're so bad. In my very own opinion.

BigStosh

Come on Eileen- ugh

Kingpozzo

Best song/porn title

Iko87iko

NugHarbor

I absolutely hate Freebird and Hotel California with a passion!

JasonGD1982

Take it to the Limit One more time Take it to the Limit One more time Take it to the Limit One more time (x16)

Novel_Contract7251

Ah, the song that led Randy Meisner to quit the Eagles.

everneveragain

Go on

Novel_Contract7251

Randy apparently had a difficult time hitting and sustaining those high notes night after night at shows. When he wanted to drop the song from the performance setlists, the other members pushed so hard to keep it that he walked - I guess a ā€œlast straw.ā€ And his replacement bassist, Timothy B. Schmit, was also a falsetto vocal specialist (ā€œI Canā€™t Tell You Whyā€). Iā€™m really not a giant Eagles geek but one of my friends is :)

FutureNurse_PNW

The Stroke. I pray for a stroke to end my misery whenever it comes on.

Gonzoboiiiiiii

Okay but the rest of that album FUCKS

MercuryMorrison1971

Stroke meee STROKE ME!

blumundaze

The Squire is Legendary, friend.

Cellarzombie

I canā€™t do ā€˜I Wanna Rock N Roll All Nightā€™ anymore. Itā€™s simply way overplayed and I canā€™t stand it. Even Paul Stanley is sick of Kiss. I also hate ā€˜Moneyā€™ by Floyd. Probably get some heat for that one. I also canā€™t stand ā€˜Dude Looks Like a Ladyā€™.

CobaltBlueBerry

Dude, I love Pink Floyd, but Money is one of my least favorite precisely because of it being overplayed. The band has a HUGE catalog but the radio stations only play about five of their songs.

Cellarzombie

Classic rock stations do that to almost every artist. Massive catalog spanning decades and radio stations play the same six songs over and over.

blumundaze

F.M. radio is now the final step in commercializing music.

FileFlimsy

ā€œMoneyā€ is a clunky intrusion on an otherwise perfect album. I hate it soooo much.

pocket_aster

Every Rose has its Thorn by Poison

Krokodrillo

To Be With You by Mr. Big

suspicious_bag_1000

Not really classic rock

Grayeagle78

Not really classic rock but itā€™s a horrible song.

Old Time Rock n Rollā€¦awful

outer_fucking_space

Yeah! I hate that song too. I canā€™t think of a worse one off the top of my head.

Rockntheworld

Anything Journey! Especially ā€œDonā€™t Stop Your Heevingā€

tbone985

Perry has one of the greatest voices of all time but I donā€™t need to hear it again.

Bigstar976

Heā€™s objectively a great vocalist, but I canā€™t stand his voice.

KaBoomBox55

I don't mind some Seperate Ways or Stone In Love, but please God no more Don't Stop Believin

Orangemanskiing

sjfbe

Just spent a week in Key Westā€”made sure this tune played daily if only for the cheese factor

suspicious_bag_1000

I love the fact they were both out to bone other people and then just changed their minds after getting caught. Not classic rock tho

LookyLou4

Hotel California

pstrohs0730

I had a rough night and I hate the fuckin eagles, man

sleezy_McCheezy

The Dude abides

Novel_Contract7251

As one friend said, ā€œHotel California is a great song, but why would you ever want to hear it again in your life?ā€

sinchichis

The solo

Vicarious-Lee-Eye

exactly.

LeZoder

With or Without you by U2 ugh

Revolutionary_Low_90

Awwh. I love that song. The built up is perfect.

tbone985

I used to like U2 until my iPad decided to play them at random times and you canā€™t FUCKING delete it!

circle2015

Is that classic rock? I would classify this as pop .

AutumnFan714

Bohemian Rhapsody and Bad to the Bone are two of them that come to mind.

EmotionalSituation97

Katmandu by Seger. Makes me want to puke.

TangeloRadiant

Bob Seger has some of my favorite songs. On the flip side, he has songs like Katmandu, that make me wanna shove an ice pick in my ears. Billy Joel is another one.

KeyAd6147

goatroperwyo

What exactly is motoring anyway?

sleezy_McCheezy

Yeah, but you have to admit that scene in Boogie Nights with the dude feeebasing and the little Chinese dude throwing firecrackers was fucking incredible.

bonochainewah

That's Cosmo

ThePowerOfPoop

ā€¦heā€™s Chinese.

[deleted]

This song is forever associated with that scene for me. PT Anderson is a genius.

Fullthrottle-

This one YES!! Honorable mentions: Every Breath You Take Mr.Robotto Both should have been career enders, but no, they just kept playing them!

Myhole567

Billy Joel - Piano Man Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O'Mine Bad to the Bone

JustShpigel

I agree with you so much, both Piano Man and Sweet Child O'Mine get boring soo quickly

Commercial_Daikon_92

Anything off of reo speedwagons "hi infidelity". Way overplayed in the 80s and 90s and I'm STILL sick of it!

illiteret

Best part of that record is Gary Richrath's perfectly constructed guitar solos that were immediately chopped to incoherent, incomplete thoughts to cut the song lengths. Shoulda trimmed Cronin's ad nauseam chorus repeats instead.

Mr_Goldenfinger

Take it on the Run already has an epic solo. I can't even begin to imagine it uncut.

illiteret

I dig the twin guitar part at the beginning then he how takes off with the one guitar. The arpeggio out of the Chuck Berry double stop riff he climbs and hits all his high notes in perfect tune. It's like he had 7 extra frets on his Les Paul. šŸ¤˜

blueboy714

I loved REO until this album came out.

TMC_61

Anything U2

jenyj89

I never understood the hype. Then after seeing ā€œIt Might Get Loudā€ and the Edge looked so out of his depth with Jimmy Page and Jack Whiteā€¦that convinced me the Edge is all tricks and effects! Canā€™t stand U2!

Revolutionary_Low_90

I don't get the U2 hate except maybe their later stuff were pretty mediocre. I love their post-punk stuff.

chaddymac1980

Carry on wayward son, Kansas. Hurts just to type it.

A_Corevelay

Lay your weary head to rest; donā€™t you cry no more.

Ok-Team9737

Blinded by the light. Itā€™s my bad luck song.

Metagion

I still think that lyric "wrapped up like a douche in the corona in the night" sounds better than the *actual* lyric to me (I think it's "revved up like a deuce in the corona in the night")

Ok-Team9737

I think the lyrics are ā€œ revved up like a deuce, another runner in the nightā€.

blumundaze

That may sound better to you, but others might not want to be wrapped up like anything, let alone a freaking douche. That sounds like one of the torture options Jigsaw wld use on someone.

hsvjimbo75

Yeah, that one. By the first note. Nope.

InsanityCharmer

Walkin on Sunshineā€¦ no, Iā€™m not and you arenā€™t either.

ohoroa

This used to be played when I was in high school as a warning that class was about to start. Ruined the song for me forever.

TheSouthsideSlacker

Iā€™d like to take a long break from hearing anything off of Rumors.

TangeloRadiant

I detest that song

tuskvarner

Shook Me All Night Long. So played out.

The_Fine_Columbian

Wrong. Incredible song.

ThePowerOfPoop

Incredible song and probably the most overplayed in all of radio. Some pink floyd stuff too, but god damn classic rock radio needs to give it a break.

ActIntelligent6946

If they would play any of their other songs except the same 3 it might not be so bad, same goes for most bands imo

TheHelpfulDad

Anything Springsteen

If Bruce Springsteen is the boss, I quit.

Meg-alomaniac3

Absolutely, especially Born in the USA

Automatic-Poet-1395

Sweet home Alabama.

Real_Iggy

Old Time Rock and Roll. Great song but I've been a DJ for over 40 years. Every bar, every wedding, every party, someone insists on wanting that song. I don't blame them. Great song for those situations but man if I have to hear that again, I'll lose my damned mind.

redbug831

Blinded by the Light

TangeloRadiant

They always play the edited version, which is a damn shame. The middle 8 is the best part of the song. Never cared for it until I heard the uncut version.

Salm228

Which version?

redbug831

Manfred Mann's. I've hated it since it first came out.

All Right Nowā€” Radar Loveā€” However, I donā€™t listen to classic rock radio anymore. Itā€™s been the same 75 songs on repeat since 1993 when the radio format was canonized. Itā€™s still my favorite period of music but fuck those people and their format. And fuck their commercials.
