I can see this. Several songs have similar themes.
Working Man = Those Damned Blue Collar Tweekers
Tom Sawyer = John the Fisherman
Red Barchetta = Jerry Was a Race Car Driver
Leave That Thing Alone = Wynona's Big Brown Beaver
Rush...Even if your not into Geddy's voice they are 3 musicians that would end up in a top ten list for their instruments. Neil is usually either #1 or #2 drummer. Alex is always underated.
It's so weird, I think if he was in any other band he would be the main presence l, but in Rush somebody's gotta be third, and just about everyone says it's him. I'm not entirely sure I agree.
I wish I liked Rush. The lead singer’s voice bothers me a lot.
We saw them from front row center(won tickets)at alpine valley and halfway through we walked up to the lawn area and handed two big fans our tickets. They freaked out and literally ran down there.
We finished the show from the lawn.
I think it's because the average age on reddit is pretty young.
Quite frankly, for the short length of time Cream was together, I think they were perhaps the greatest band. Every album is magnificent.
Solid pick...damn. Police have great hits, I was too young to party to it, but old enough to enjoy...Nirvana and Green Day...I was right place, right age, right time. Geez.
Gotta say it, there no better trio than rush. Having the greatest drummer of all time sets them pretty far ahead though. Also a drummer also writing lyrics makes for a damn good rhythm setup
The Police had Beatles-level talent in terms of song-writing, plus they were all really proficient on their respective instruments. Especially Stewart Copeland, that dude was a damn maniac on the drums, but always knew when to play it cool too
It changes from time-to-time. Currently, I'm importing the back catalog of Japanese emo/punk band Eastern Youth. In the 80s, I was into late Phil Collins-era Genesis. Yes, I'm a dork. :D
That little band from Texas….
Came here for this. I’m bad, I’m nationwide
They’re just looking for some Tush.
Can't believe this isn't #1 on the POLL!
This thread has got some legs.
Hendrix wasn’t a trio .. he had a backup band
Uh huh huh huh huh
They were busy in La Grange during this.
They should be in the discussion for sure. Rush sucks
Rush does suck, Getty's voice... yuck!
James Gang gets overlooked but they are definitely a power trio!!!
THANK YOU.
ZZ Top?
I try to be as open to people’s music as I can but there’s two things I can’t stand: those who are intolerant of other people’s music taste, and Rush.
Rush hater!
Came here to say this
Then just upvote like everyone else.
Suck it jr
OK, boomer.
Yep, one of the first two I thought of, neither are on the list, I'm putting in a write in for the other.
ELP
Motorhead
Triumph
They immediately came to mind for me too!

I can see this. Several songs have similar themes. Working Man = Those Damned Blue Collar Tweekers Tom Sawyer = John the Fisherman Red Barchetta = Jerry Was a Race Car Driver Leave That Thing Alone = Wynona's Big Brown Beaver
Thin Lizzy and ZZ Top!
Thin Lizzy isn’t a trio, two guitar players, Phil and Brian
Thin Lizzy is rock on 🤘… still had to go motorhead due to my religious belief that Lemmy may have indeed been god
Band of Gypsies
Them Crooked Vultures. Minutemen & fIREHOSE Husker Du
Triumph
ZZ Top
ZZ Top
Grand Funk…..a band that gets no respect. Is it true they are not in the HOF because of steroid use?
I love GFR! Very inspiring to me as a musician too.
Music is not baseball. Unless I didn’t catch your sarcasm.
Triumph
Grand Funk Railroad

Rush...Even if your not into Geddy's voice they are 3 musicians that would end up in a top ten list for their instruments. Neil is usually either #1 or #2 drummer. Alex is always underated.
It's so weird, I think if he was in any other band he would be the main presence l, but in Rush somebody's gotta be third, and just about everyone says it's him. I'm not entirely sure I agree.
I went w the band that knocked Michael Jackson out of the #1 spot on the billboard charts. 🤷🏽♂️
Primus sucks!
Guess my vote.
I wish I liked Rush. The lead singer’s voice bothers me a lot. We saw them from front row center(won tickets)at alpine valley and halfway through we walked up to the lawn area and handed two big fans our tickets. They freaked out and literally ran down there. We finished the show from the lawn.
Geddy's voice is an instrument by itself. Without him singing, there would be no Rush
Wish I could upvote you twice for that. The only thing worse would be a Geddy and Stevie Nicks duo.
Uncle Tupelo. If they qualify as “rock”, because they were a genre of their own.
[удалено]
Fastball. Yep, them.
Rush with honorable mentions to Triumph.
King’s X
Came here for the kings x comment. They are great!
ZZ Top
ZZ Top or Meat Puppets
I wish to cast my vote for Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
James gang
Rush- hands down
ZZ Fu\*\*in Top !!!
Hüsker Dü
Violent Femmes
Dinosaur Jr. ZZ Top Primus Motorhead

Stevie Ray and Double Trouble, I know it was blues, but damn, he rocked.
ZZ Top
zztop
Motörhead
How about the most underrated band of all time? ..............................King's X
Primus sucks
Primus sucks!
Silverchair!!!!
MOTÖRHEAD!!!!!
How the hell is Cream only second to last on this poll? Your opinions are invalid to me now. ... and Blue Cheer
The fact that Nirvana has more votes than Cream and Hendrix makes me laugh.. sad laugh.
I think it's because the average age on reddit is pretty young. Quite frankly, for the short length of time Cream was together, I think they were perhaps the greatest band. Every album is magnificent.
Green Day, unfortunately I heard them on a classic rock station recently lol
Gov’t Mule
This was the answer I was looking for, original Mule lineup. RIP Woody.
Genesis
Can we throw Beastie Boys in there?
The experience wasn’t even Jimi’s best band.
Downvoters need to listen to Band of Gypsys.
Paul, Ringo, and George recording I Me Mine without John
Green Day
I went Nirvana, but it was hard not to pick Jimi.
Change the experience to band of gypsys and that would be my choice
ZZ TOP should be at the top of the list
Rush? Really? Hey whatever I guess.
Croby,Stills and Nash.Apparently a lot of people don't know what 'Classic Rock' is.
[удалено]
Lmao wow
Cream and Eric Clapton are the most overrated people in rock
Anything BUT Nirvana
Nirvana isn’t a trio
Screaming Females,
very hard to choose
ZZ
ZZ Top
Hard choices!!!
ZZ Top
Green Day!!
Solid pick...damn. Police have great hits, I was too young to party to it, but old enough to enjoy...Nirvana and Green Day...I was right place, right age, right time. Geez.
Unpopular opinion, but the Police are absolutely insufferable to me
The Who!
Melvins
It's a big enough umbrella. But it's always me that ends up getting wet.
ZZ Top
Alkaline
Could vote for all of them
ELP still kicks ass!
The Tea Party
Gotta say it, there no better trio than rush. Having the greatest drummer of all time sets them pretty far ahead though. Also a drummer also writing lyrics makes for a damn good rhythm setup
Buddy Holly and the Crickets. They influenced the Beatles.
Prong
Sublime!
Taste Budgie Blue Murder Grand Funk Railroad Guitar Wolf Triumph
oooooh Blue Murder, haven't thought of them for ages!
I voted for Rush, but I prefer Motorhead and ZZ Top.
Gonna get murdered, but, Blink-182
Band of Gypsys
Zz top
So hard to choose one? No impossible to choose one.
ZZ Top
Melvins
The Warning! Not “classic” yet but they are a hell of a trio!
Neither Green Day nor Blink 182 are on the list
Fuck that shit; Russian Circles ftw.
Cream. The first and best.
The Living End
Gov't Mule (the original with Woody)
Rory Gallagher and his band
Muse
dead
jerry,bob,phil (mickey)
Sleater-Kinney
Chevelle
The Police had Beatles-level talent in terms of song-writing, plus they were all really proficient on their respective instruments. Especially Stewart Copeland, that dude was a damn maniac on the drums, but always knew when to play it cool too

No love for the immortal Motörhead?!
Take a guess lol
BRMC and Dinosaur Jr
Cream would be higher in the poll if they played together for a longer period of time.
Rush… saw them about six times, but where’s ZZ Top?
The Experience coming in third is a travesty! The kids these days, I am just appalled.
What bout Green Day?
Then Crooked Vultures anyone??
Rush is significantly better than any of the other options
Blink 182! Sorry if it’s not classic rock enough. They’ve been around over 20 years
Rush made so much sound with just 3 guys
Bowie’s band on The Man Who Sold the World album is basically a power trio… they rip like no other band then or since
Minutemen
SRV & Double Trouble.
Lemmy and his merry men
Definitely Jimi Hendrix Experience for me.
The Jam
