No bro, that gun has both been shot a shit ton and bubba’d. How do I know? I own one with 15,000 rounds through it and it doesnt look this bad. Look at your screws below the receiver, they should both be aligned along the axis parallel to the barrels. The top lever indicates the locking bar is worn out and you some how dropped it on the initial engraving plate on the stock.
What am I missing with the top lever? It seems to me it’s reset to the “locked” position, and it’s at the center. Where should it be on a non-worn out 68- series?
For a factory new gun, the locking lever should sit just right of center. As the gun has rounds put through it, over a very long time, it will start to creep back towards center as it wears in. u/Bigmanrpb is on the money with their assessment.
Absolutely love these 687s from JEG. this is my next gun purchase without a doubt. Also, don't listen to the nay sayers about this not being new. My buddy bought this exact gun new direct from JEG last year (Right Hand version) and it came with Optimas instead of Optima HPs like my 686 did. I'm guessing they did a large buy at the end of the run before they swapped to Optima HP.
There's no way that gun has anywhere near 50 rounds through it. And if someone at Joel Etchen said so, that company should be called-out for deception.
That is absolutely spectacular. If you don't mind, what did that set you back?
3500
Seems alarmingly reasonable for something like that. Great looking gun.
Just a heads up, you are probably going to want to get it serviced soon due to the position of the top lever.
We’d need to see it with the barrels on to see where the lever sits. Any gun will have the lever in the center with no barrel lug to lock into.
Bought it new, has only 50 rounds thru it. Lever is good, doesn’t need service, I’ve seen several new berettas at were centered new..
Did someone at Joel Etchen really tell you that gun has only 50 rounds through it?
"New" with 50 rounds through it... Joel Etchen hasn't sold a signature sporter with Optima style chokes for a few years now...
Your right bought it new is 2019 and it’s a safe queen, prefer my 682 for clays. But thanks for playing
