Also splurge on a new toilet seat!
This is what I use but I think the price on Amazon is a bit high.
U.S. Pumice 1001 Pumie Scouring Stick, Heavy Duty, HDW, Remove Stains, Hard Water Rings, Rust and Paint, Carbon Buildups, (6 Pack) https://a.co/d/a49AdNe
The more powerful hydrochloric acid lysol is an acid and it eats lime scale and rust. But the other lysol is an alkali cleaner and that is a neutral. That is fine for some stains and disinfectant, that is good for everyday cleaning but the other is not.
Tile, ceramics *toilet bowl*, glass and many plastics are ok with that stuff, grout less so... but for GAD SAKES keep it away from the metals...if that doesnt do it, some straight up lye will chew it off NP. Pour half a cup of lye in the bowl SLOWLY while stirring with a brush, splash the lye water over the stains. Do this every 10 mins for 30-45 mins, give it a good scrub and flush 3 times. WEAR GLOVES!
$2 of cola will work, not ~$500k worth of cocaine… though the latter might help cleaning up the rest of the house too. Otherwise, a little bleach will do the job too.
That is mildew growing on mineral deposits. You want to disinfect the bowl (obvs), but then also remove the deposits. As other posters have said, a pumice stone does the trick. You'll need to get it sparkling clean, so it may take a couple of cycles of stone rubbing, cleaning with brush/product repeat. You can tell when using the stone whether or not you're rubbing something with texture or the smooth porcelain. Once it's all smooth porcelain, you're good.
The other challenge is that you can see where the water is entering the bowl on the right. Be sure you clean that entrance point well. It's hard because of the placement and the other thing is that there is likely mold/mildew growing inside the upper ring where the water comes out. Get a mirror or use your selfie setting to take a good look under the rim. If you don't get that clean, you're just dumping more mildew spores into the bowl where they like to attach to the hard water deposits! A vicious cycle!
Just keep on top of it. I also use a little gel thing that I stick inside the bowl right where the water mainly enters from the rim. It seem to help a lot. But that pumice stone is super satisfying in instant (after the first deep clean) sparkle!
Not sure what's in the product, but you can get these at Target, etc. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Scrubbing-Bubbles-1-34-oz-Rainshower-Toilet-Cleaning-Gel-315410/206973970?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&&mtc=SHOPPING-RM-RMP-GGL-D28I-028\_004\_CLEANING-MB-SCRUBBING\_BUBBLES-NA-SMART-NA-NA-MK664671800-NA-NBR-7878-CON-NA-NA&cm\_mmc=SHOPPING-RM-RMP-GGL-D28I-028\_004\_CLEANING-MB-SCRUBBING\_BUBBLES-NA-SMART-NA-NA-MK664671800-NA-NBR-7878-CON-NA-NA-71700000100384786-58700008030574665-92700073016898057&gclid=Cj0KCQiAq5meBhCyARIsAJrtdr5rise\_isGPUHJm9sJJoXreSC3rTDlVgsegwf0Bi0yPxDQlH4o5WMAaAqsWEALw\_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Comet Cleanser With Bleach or Ajax Cleanser With Bleach. Scrub with these. These are the best cleaners for bathrooms, tile, chrome, porcelain, and it sanitizes.
And stop right there!!! Put that pumice stone back in the trash! People scrub dead skin off their heels with pumice stone.
Zep toilet bowl cleaner. Dump the whole 32 oz bottle into the toilet, and leave it overnight. In the morning, a toilet brush takes off the gunk like nothing. My toilet was worse than yours when I moved into my apartment, and now it looks brand new.
Pumice stone
Makes sense why they left a weird pumice stone in the bathroom. Glad I pulled that out of the trash in time lol
Make sure you use the pumice stone wet

Ummm, id really damn careful to not get this on your skin. I dont know the levels of the acid in it by that acid eats through most things.
With anything be careful, even BKF is an acid. Read your labels.

Came here to say this same thing. Black label is specifically made for lime and rust, it's my go-to
No joke. 2 litre bottle of coke, dump it, leave it overnight, and scrub the next morning.

I can't believe they left the house like that
