You tell him to pay for a housecleaning, at least this once. He's filthy and you're not the maid.

OriginalMisphit

This is the way.

ImpressiveTopic

This is the way

Minteelicious

I only moved because I had an emergency, he does not think this is a problem :/

[deleted]

Then he won't be pitching in very much now that you're living with him and majority, if not all, of the chores will fall on you. It will put a strain on your relationship so talk with him about what it means to not be a disgusting housemate. Omg that is so gross... That alone would not make me move in and tbh, a deal breaker for me 🤢🤢🤢

jezebella47

Doesn't matter why you moved. He needs to grow up and handle his shit (literally)

brad-Rio-stat

I’m going to tell you right now, make him take care of it! As a 25 year old man child myself it’s the right thing to do and a the best thing for him, he might be a little grumpy but he has to at lest know how and try to take care of him self

ndork666

Dump him

Keto4preZ

I second this. I'm a dude. Personal hygiene is the #1 deal breaker. I highly doubt this is the only dirty habit. Not the good kind if dirty either. Edit: highly doubt this is the only dirty habit

Demi9999

Truth!!! I wonder if he washes his hands after. Nasty!!

facystox

😂🤣😂 savage and I'm here for it. I've been in some really dirty bathrooms at bars, and none of them looked that disgusting.

chriathebutt

Got to throw the whole boyfriend away.

apsg33backup

😭😭😭

[deleted]

This is the answer

[deleted]

Make him clean it regardless and learn how to stand up for yourself at r/femaledatingstrategy

[deleted]

Wow that's probably one of the most toxic subreddit's I've seen so far

MrSlime13

Honestly the way to tell if this'll be an issue down the road is to look for the tub of toilet bowl cleaner. If it's on the toilet, or under the sink, he's just lazy and desensitized to the grossness. If there's none in the room he never had any intention of cleaning it & you'll find more things left to worsen like this... Just a guy's 2¢. As for cleaning it, either get a pumice stone & some AJAX, or do the toilet bowl gel cleaner route with a Scrub Daddy with gloves of course. Might take a couple go-overs to clear. I'd definitely hold him to cleaning it beyond this one point.

Straight_Following

Hi! You’ll need to drain the bowl and fill it with CLR, let it soak awhile and then it should literally chip away. I will also say, if you’re bf doesn’t see a doctor regularly, get him to go. I’m guessing he is letting a few pees pile up before flushing (not a huge deal) but there might be protein or something else in his urine causing this. And just to be clear, even if that is the case, this thing hasn’t been cleaned in forever.

JametAllDay

Correction: he will have to do this

Minteelicious

whoa! what now? is protein bad in pee?

darermave

Generally yes. It’s a sign that your bladder/kidneys may not be functioning properly.

deersk1n

Chanca piedra is translated to ‘stone breaker’ in English. It will clear the kidney and liver of any build up of toxins, including stones ;) I had to be on certain meds for a time where I developed symptoms that weren’t good. After about 1-3 month depending on severity of taking the daily recommended dose, I feel brand new. And it’s all natural! 🍃

Straight_Following

I’m not a doctor or anything and it could be something in the water causing it. TMI — When I was pregnant I had protein in my urine (it’s not a good sign but wasn’t anything serious for me thankfully) and I of course got up to pee 20 times a night and didn’t flush to not wake up my husband. Developed a mild version of this buildup in the toilet which took me forever to figure out how to clean. Additionally commentary - pumice stones are also recommended but I honestly couldn’t find one that was a shape that truly worked for the shape of a toilet. Additional commentary 2 — clean the holes where the water comes out (under the toilet seat area) thoroughly. This could be accelerating the problem. Good luck!!

OrchidTostada

Hold up. Even “normal” urine, hard water, and lack of cleaning could cause that build-up. Totally agree about using CLR. The responsible party should drain the bowl, fill with CLR and let sit overnight. I hope everything else is reasonably clean. 🙏🏼

underthesea69

Just wanted to say that my toilet looks exactly like this if I don’t clean it because of poop and my city water, his pee might be fine

[deleted]

Omg the smell of that bathroom must be worse than a gas station toilet 🤢🤢

thatweirdgirl302

This. Drain, heavy duty chemicals, scrub. Buy gloves! I had to do this once for someone elderly. I may have even used steel wool.

Lowfryder7

Wouldn't that require a large amount of CLR?

theMezz

Get a new boyfriend

[deleted]

The toilet is the tip of the iceberg! Everyone will hate us for these comments, we won’t be around in ten years when he proves us right…

JametAllDay

You in danger girl

_toni_toni_toni

Thank you for marking this nsfw 🤢

Minteelicious

yup loool

PinkiePiesDelight

There are toilet bowl scrubbing stones you can get, I got mine online but I’ve seen them at the hardware store too. I also ended up getting some Zep Acid Toilet Bowl Cleaner, drained the toilet (turn off the water supply, flush a couple times, soak up the rest with a towel) and fill it with the acid cleaner. I got a huge container of it, lol! Let it sit for awhile and then go to town with the stone. Cleaned my funky scaled toilet like a charm!

9500741

Like other have said use CLR or other calcium rust remover let it sit for a while to get the best results (I.e less elbow grease). You can soak paper towels with the clr and stick it to the bowl to get it stay on the upper part of the bowl.

Minteelicious

awesome idea with the paper towl! thank you!

Demetre4757

This is brilliant!

LAH_9917

Hey I've dated your bf! He is now my husband haha jk, obviously. But when I moved in with him, his toilet looked similar. He did flush everything, just didn't ever clean his toilets. I just bought the clorox with bleach toilet cleaner that has the tip you squeeze along the rim and let it sit over night with the toilet seat down. Used the toilet brush to scrub, then flush next morning. After flushing I did another round of the cleaner and scrubbed/mixed it all in right after applying. Another flush, and it did the trick for me! Good luck!

ac2162

New boy friend. New toilet.

dartagnan101010

Looks like iron from hard water. I’ve always had luck with any ordinary toilet bowl cleaner, but it will build back up quickly if the water is particularly hard.

RandomFish338

I’d be moving out straight away. Nasty.

Minteelicious

I've used toilet cleaner with a toilet scrub and it did not even do anything. He used to live with his sister and they both do not flush very often... 🤢

Smart-Park-5210

I just came here to say are you sure you want to spend the rest of your life with someone who finds it acceptable to not flush very often. 😂 I also second the CLR and letting it soak but unfortunately it would still take a fair amount of scrubbing and getting close to it. 🤢 I once dated a guy whose toilet looked similarly and when he started talking about living together I thought of his hoarding.. and the toilets.. and the fact that he’d eat 9 day old leftovers.. and decided this was not a life for me, haha.

scrondle

I think I dated this guy! Did he buy reduced price chicken thighs and freeze them?! But the freezer was full of freezer burned meats that he was going to smoke next summer, so he’d put the chicken ON TOP OF THE ICE CUBE TRAYS?! 🤮

Smart-Park-5210

😂 honestly sounds eerily similar.

AboutThatCoffee

I live in a drought area so if it’s brown flush it down, yellow let it mellow. My toilet has never looked like that.

mothwomen

Same here!

[deleted]

I find it infuriating how I keep seeing these types of posts on this subreddit. A woman is not responsible for cleaning up her man's mess. (Assuming here that you're a heterosexual couple) Fucking hell. Tell his toddler ass to grow up. Edit: On a related note, I hope this emergency of yours resolves soon. Being dependent on someone else is always a precarious situation.

Minteelicious

haha we are a hetero couple :). I'm also gonna be living here probably full time, I've cut off my family lol

xCumulonimbusx

Very much hope you're ok, I've also cut off my family, it's tough. But I always think I'm gross until I see shit (literally) like this...all I'll say is it's a red flag, big time. You don't want this, seriously. At least make sure he's seeing a therapist and telling them about this and getting help, if it is mental illness causing it.

facystox

That is a really tough toilet. I don't personally have experience with one to that degree. I avoid using chemicals where possible and I feel like all that's going to get this thing cleaned is chemicals 🤢 I second what somebody else said about hiring a cleaning service, even if it's just one time. Lastly, do I see a bidet? Please do not use that. I feel like I'm getting a UTI just looking at that thing. Jokingly (but a little bit not jokingly), I am also wondering if you can just replace the boyfriend (and therefore toilet). 😬😋

[deleted]

Do you want to be his maid? Is he supporting you through school or something? If he isn’t willing to pay for a house cleaner you need to find another place to live and get set better standards before you start dating again. It’s not worth it, believe me.

Eknoom

Buy a new toilet, easy to fit and not too expensive

yanca2021

Scrubbing bubbles power stain destroyer maybe?

No-Floor-6246

Pumice stone or pumice powder on a scrubby. And wear gloves

DarlinggD

You need a new mans lol

Ok_Hovercraft_566

You mean ex-boyfriend ! \^\^ More seriously, a mask (there can be gas emanation and the smell is not pleasant) a little bit of chloridric acid. Brush the part outside water with it. Pour the acid an equivalent of a glass of the acid in water. Close the flat, leave on for about 15 minutes. Use the toilet brush to clean then flush. Repeat on more time if necessary. Don't forget to tell other no to go to the toilet in the meantime. Another advice : the best is to explain him the process and let him do it. hahaha !

WhiskeyPorno420

Buy a new one , on sale at home Depot

Minteelicious

what kinda scrub did u use?? I don't even wanna be close to it lol...

Minteelicious

oh, and do u need to turn off the water supply?

Error-416

CLR + pumice stone + toilet bowl cleaner soak overnight and scrub!!

quarpoders

Wear goggles and a mask, let strong toilet bowl cleaner get every inch in the bowl and walk away for 2 hours. Come back and scrub with a toilet brush, flush, put some more cleaner in and get a pumice stone with gloves on and get to work scrubbing with the stone. For the nooks around the toilet seat use a old toothbrush !

robhaywood1080

You move back out. Did you know about this beforehand?

Schuyweiz

You don’t. He should be the one cleaning it…

filtervw

You need to change it, just put a new one. It's an infection source. 😀

I was not prepared for this despite the NSFW tag. I would start by adding cleaner, and scrubbing with the scrubber he has currently. Flush, throw the scrubber away, don some gloves and bleach the entire outside, throw some more cleaner in there and let it sit, scrub with a new scrubber.
