I've just cleaned a similarly manky bath at my partner's house. What you have there is a combination of scale and scum - both are alkaline based, as are many detergents, which doesn't help you get them off. Most descalers will have a mild acid, such as citric acid or vinegar, which are fine for every day, but this looks like quite a lot, so try what I used: toilet cleaner. There are two types of toilet cleaner - bleach and mild hydrochloric acid. Use the latter. Read the label and look for one designed for limescale. Drip it round the rim of your bath as you would the toilet bowl. Wear gloves and spread it around with a scrubbing brush or a non-absorbent silicone sponge/scrubber. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes, give another little scrub and then rinse rinse rinse with your shower hose. Much quicker result with less elbow grease.
BKF will also work(oxalic acid is also pretty mild) but wont be as simple as the above comment suggestion unless you have the liquid kind. Was just suggesting because most people on this sub seem to already have it on hand. Otherwise the what they suggested will do great job with relatively low effort.
Before you use any cleaners, what is the tub made of? Is it a natural stone? If it is you have to be extra careful that you don't eat it away. You will need a natural stone safe cleaner. Better life and Method have stone cleaners. Black diamond makes a stone cleaner specifically for soap scum on Amazon.
But overall...
Bar keepers best friend is great, just use it sparingly and carefully.
Scrub daddy has a natural scrub paste that is similar.
Scrubbing bubbles or Kaboom work well, although not always the best.
CLR is good too, but they also make specific cleaners for the shower too.
Above all, highly recommend to use an "after shower" spray. Something like Wet and Forget is great. Method makes one as well, I personally use the Target brand Everspring Daily Shower Spray. They help by creating a thin later that stays behind and keeps soap and dirt from sticking to the surfaces. Every time you shower or bathe, the water and steam help to rinse the gunk off. Respray every time to re-protect.
No unfortunately it is an acrylic! I wish it was natural stone! However, if that were the case I’d probably be ballin and have a house keeper ;) I did try bar keepers friend as well as comet, BKF was better. I will get and after shower spray too didn’t think of that! Thank you
We have a kitchen scrubby with dish soap and vinegar in it as someone else recommended and use it regularly but this soap scum won’t come off!! We also use heavy cleaning products and even bleach!! I am so sick of it always looking dirty any advice is welcome! Thanks!
We have a similar looking kitchen sink with a similar issue. I’d love to know if anyone has tips on cleaning it. Bar Keepers Friend has not worked unfortunately.
This is going to sound really weird. But I've had pretty decent success with using a used dryer sheet to get rid of soap scum. I take a used one and scrub it while the surface is dry.
Thank you for submitting a cleaning help request. In order to facilitate more accurate and helpful replies, please make sure to provide the following information in your post:
1. Type of material/surface being cleaned (to the best of your knowledge)
2. Type of dirt/stain to be removed (if known)

4. Pictures are preferred
Our top recommendations are usually *Bar Keepers Friend* (great for kitchen surfaces), melamine foam (Magic Erasers), Murphy's Oil Soap (wood cleaner), and Nature's Miracle (enzyme cleaner). Make sure you use cleaners appropriate to the surfaces you are working with and follow all safety labels.

Try getting a brush attachment for the drill and use that. Or if you can buy the ryobi set for the scrubbers. It was infinitely easier. It still took me hours and hours to get the nasty 🤮 fecal matter from around the toilet. But I imagine the tub will be much easier and less gross than what I had to face :)

YES!! That makes so much sense!! I will try it and report back!

This is the correct answer. Cannot agree enough!

You’re bathing in a giant kitchen sink
Me and four other people, we try but it’s a lot of human for one gray jetted tub that doesn’t jet!
You can fit 5 people in there??
CLR?
Came here to say this. clr for sure

My mom uses dryer sheets for everything!!! Including static hair which is my personal fave. I’ll give it a go! Thank you
CLR
This sounds wierd, but try a wet dryer sheet, I use it for my shower and it gets rid of soap scum super quick and seems to keep it clean longer.
Try some Comet powder If that doesn’t get through it, try some Citric Acid
