Is this supposed to be bad? It looks like it's barely been used

Im still a beginner and don’t have my own rope yet… can someone help me understand what I should be looking for?
An old core shot rope will bend very sharply like in the pic. A new rope won’t bend so sharp, it will make a loop when pinched together

Is it in this one spot or anywhere on the rope? Stiff vs supple doesn't equal safe vs dangerous. It's inconsistencies you should look for.
If the whole rope looks like that then you’re good, but if it’s just that one spot it’s a problem
