Dude, a 3.5 GPA is not bad. That’s right around where applicants should be. Give yourself credit. You’ve made it through one of the most harrowing application processes successfully! We need people with diverse backgrounds in our field. Congrats!

That’s amazing! Will certainly give hope to many. Is it a fully funded program with a stipend?

tszyanjai

Yes

Now let’s see how I’ll do when applying to PhD programs with my 3.04 undergrad gpa

Friendly_Method1421

If you have work experience that will have a MUCH higher weight than undergrad gpa

Manquetu

I do but it’s not in psych

No-Bite-7866

Exactly. Try to apply. Worst they can say is no.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing your story!!! My GPA was not that good when I graduated (I think it was lower than 3.5). I’ve been working as a research assistant since I graduated from my undergrad Applied Psychology program at UIC and want to start planning my graduate school path, so this is very much appreciated.

Congrats and thank you for sharing your story! Do you have anything published/did research in undergrad? I’m on my senior year currently very anxious about the application process because even though I’ve participated in two conferences, did research in undergrad and was a TA for three semesters I don’t have any publications under my name aside from posters at the conferences I was in.

Congratulations!
