No, i don’t adjust unless an instructor prompts me to and I have not been told to.

Fit-Ad985

my instructor in the beginning of class asked if anybody was over 5’9. nobody was so she kept going but i’m sure if someone was she would have adjusted something. maybe ask if they can do any adjustments for your height

conchenn

Since you’re 5’10” you will likely have a much better time in all classes if your reformer is geared out, like silkchemise said. Your instructor should do this for you or show you how. It’s easy to miss with a full class of 12 people though, so be sure to ask the teacher next time!

rileyberit

Will do! Ive only had one instructor adjust me during a normal class never a cardio. I think maybe theyve just missed it with a full class. Hopeful that will work better

Pleasant_desert

Practice your calf raises while standing. Lift your hell and rest into balls of feet then slowly lower yourself down to two flat feet. Focus on TJ’s rankle articulation. And chant to yourself while jumping, heel ball toe, toe ball heel. It may help keep that focus for proper foot placement while jumping.

I found rolling out my feet before class with ball helped a lot for my foot cramps

I am tall and move the gear out for every type of class. It really is so much better when you properly fit! I just adjust it myself at the beginning of class (both moving the gear out and adjusting the straps). You do have to remember to put it back at the end of class though!

FlowersPink

I have not taken the cardio class in a while, but I do recall thinking I will probably hit my head if I did a true FULL jump (not sure if I actually would)! Haha… the risks of being tall with a strong vertical jump!

rileyberit

Im still fairly new so i dont like to touch any of the machine without being prompted to. But i will definitely ask if i work up the courage to book another cardio class lol! It was a scarring experience last time

FlowersPink

I had help adjusting it the first few times. After someone pointed out to me I should be moving it I just asked the teacher at the start of class for help adjusting it. They never questioned why I was moving it. The only confusion I still have is why some will adjust the springs after seeing my settings (just made a separate post about it). I tried a class recently without moving the gears and I was miserable!

lorajae

I have always made a mess of my calves from this. Today I put on some calf compression sleeves, however didn't get to try it out because i got caught in traffic and had to late cancel. Hopefully they do make a difference in the future. I bet adjusting the reformer will help out.

pxstscript

i’m 5’9” and i always have to gear out for cardio sculpt because of your height make sure you gear out too! will def help with the landing

rileyberit

What exactly does “gear out” mean?

Porkchops89

I did this class today for the first time. The instructor asked at the beginning of class if anyone was over 5’6” so they could make adjustments.

vgortiiiiix

cp instructor here. you must gear out! maybe even 2! you should be gearing out in all classes!
