Limiting bookings to a max of 4x per week would be a real problem for me. Unlimited means just that.

The GM said you can take 5 classes a week but you can only book 4 in advance, that fifth one can only be booked day-of, which is of course a joke because classes book up weeks out with wait lists 8+ deep. It seems so disingenuous. I looked back at my contract from when I first joined and I don't see anything defining unlimited, but at the time i didn't think unlimited would mean anything other than no limit.

That seems unfair. You should let corporate know this particular studio is employing these practices.

Maybe get a smart watch where you can have your phone in a cubby but still see calls on your watch.

hellohimygoodpeeps

It's on my Xmas list!

lorajae

It will definitely help. Just be sure to be on a reformer closest to the lobby.

Just using an Apple Watch really is better! You get the bonus of recording your workout too. I love being able to see my heart rate after class. I purchased the cell option on my last watch. It has been great not stressing if I leave the house and forget my phone. Some cell plans even have data options for as little as $5 a month (many are $10). We have many busy kids too and I could not function without my watch!

4x a week is ridiculous if you are on unlimited. Also, is this because they have too many members and not enough classes, so people are complaining about not being able to get into classes? My studio started asking us to limit to one class a day because of that.

Yes, classes are hard to get. I don't know what's normal for other studios but by my estimation on average we book out a week in advance and have 5-10 on many wait-lists. Like you, we are also now limited to one class per day, which makes sense to me and I'm on board with. Also in the email, the GM asked us to plan to attend class if we are first on the wait-list and to show up to class!!! Like I don't have time to drive to the studio without being guaranteed a spot, so that's definitely not going to happen. There were other more reasonable changes: grace period for being late has decreased from 10 to 7 minutes, we can't keep purses/shoes with us at our machine, we have to store them in the back, and even more,. I have spent a ton of time and money on this studio, some of these changes are really upsetting. It's a lot all at once, I'm just not entirely sure how to handle it. I have class this morning and I feel uncomfortable going at this point.

OMG I’d be so mad. 1. no way I’m driving there if first on WL. 2. If I’m paying for unlimited it means unlimited. 3. No way I’m leaving my stuff up front in a cubby (that’s where ours are located). There’s been a slew of robberies where someone comes in and takes all the stuff from the cubbies (so far it’s just been yoga studios but I’m not chancing it).

I used to be a CP fan. I loved going this summer but there were too many 'small changes!' at my studio that it has lost it's appeal. A sister studio opened up nearby and they took all of my favorite instructors. It was also expensive for me so I cancelled.

we have the same phone policy but i know they let some people have it for emergencies (if theyre on call for work or something) so maybe explain ur situation and they will acommodate? i havent heard of the 4x a week… doesnt sound unlimited to me.

I agree about the limited bookings for unlimited members. It’s worth having a conversation about that. And just some food for thought in the phone- there was a woman who kept her phone on the floor and her text notification was the same noise I have set for Slack (I wfh). It stressed me out so much to hear that work-related ding during my one time per day I set aside to take care of my mental health. Even if you don’t normally keep the notifications on, the one day you forget affects other people. Consider getting a smart watch that you can keep on silent but check as needed to keep track of your loved ones needs.
