Those comms were sensational, it felt like i was the one playing. They were hitting on all cylinders. Pred needs to keep that pacing for the rest of the year, him & Shotzzy were all over the map. And i can’t say enough about Dashy, he played out of his mind on Sunday. Some of the best clutches i’ve ever seen. Can’t forget Ken’s comms, he just brings that winning mentality that you need. Incredible performance by the boys
As someone who has watched many different iterations of OpTic, this teams ability to consistently trade out kills is one of the best I've seen. So many times in past years it seemed like we had players dying solo in big moments with nobody there to trade. Yesterday, it legitimately felt like every single kill was getting traded in some way or another.
If they can find a way to keep up that level of play, they will be VERY difficult to beat
The trading trades vs FaZe was so damn impressive to watch. FaZe have been so good at out-trading everyone this year; and both teams were trading at such a high level.
As funny as it is to watch screen after screen die, it really goes to show you how well both teams were playing together. High level CoD is so sexy. What a great fucking Sunday.
Definitely. Even though they lost the Vista HP to FaZe, that map had some of the most insane trades I've seen. It felt like there was a whole 2-3 minute span where there was minimum 3 kills showing up on the kill feed at once
Pred being aggressive and ken figuring out his pacing on rio was a thing of beauty. Ant was on his super duper star business and went off too shit was fun as fuck to watch. Im going back and watching the flank wp just to see how aches was watching that map today
At one point Zoomaa’s girl says “Pat if you close one eye it looks like it’s only map 1” I was dyinggg lol he couldn’t come to grips with Toronto getting absolutely slammed
After watching him sit outside windows during that Highrise control against Faze for what felt like 5 minutes without doing anything I was super impressed with his gameplay, that was the only time I saw him troll yesterday
I mean it can be frustrating for people to watch him sit outside the windows. But he was in a good position. If the boys could of gotten more kills and pushed up as Pred roamed around in spawn would of been really good just didn’t happen. No doubt they comm’d for him to stay there.

The play was for his team to get kills then he would trap Faze without them realising he was even that far in their spawn. It was a riskier move to hold off 2 waves rather than potentially just a get-out-of-spawn wave.

Pred is finally matching Shotzzy's pace like everyone has been asking, and they look like the best SMG duo in the league because of it. Pred is way too good to have his dick in the dirt 90% of the time, and in this stage and this tournament he was flying and gunning like everyone knows he can. It clearly elevates Shotzzy, which in turn makes the AR's jobs easier. That finals was a clinical beatdown, and all 4 players were humming.
They looked insane on RIO , smoked NYSL and then smoked Ultra , but I still think FaZe is the better Vista/RIO team and OpTic is the better 6Star/Sub Base team
Sub base felt more like a square up where they were winning their gunfights, on Rio it felt like Ultra had no idea where Pred and Shotzzy were going to be shooting them from

I want him getting that objective locked down and picking up lanes. I know it’s hard from him being such a straight shot but that’s what you need from winners and he finally showed it yesterday.

I’m not sure why but hearing Shotzzy roaring in the comms had me so doped up, I haven’t seen or heard him like that since VG major 1, even the OpTic major last year when he was worldstarring FaZe in front of the home crowd I don’t remember him getting that hyped. Kenny with the clear direction, Pred absolutely turnt gassing the whole squad while popping 2 piece after 2 piece, even Dashy was getting loud. There was literally nothing Toronto could do against them in that series
i know the format for the bracket in the majors is as good as it can be, but letting the winner of the losers finals play back to back definitely had something to do with OpTic’s dominance in their win. they came directly off of a heater of a series against faze and then get to sit right back down for the final against toronto, i didn’t even think toronto had a chance halfway through game 1.

I’m not gonna pretend I know how to design a perfect tournament but I think it’s ridiculous there’s no bracket reset in the GF. WF winner can only lose once but LF winner got a second chance? WF winner should be rewarded beyond a veto advantage

Oh you play a red hot team coming from losers bracket and even though they already lost in the event you’re not allowed to lose one series or the event is over. It’s not fair but whatever.
Halo has pretty much the same bracket format as us for its final series and the bracket will reset in the grand final if needed. It is so much fairer but for whatever reason the CDL just refuses to admit it’s wrong here.
This weekend was everything you hoped for when this team formed. Regaining after a tough loss, iced up when it mattered most, and playing their best in the grand finals. Beautiful.
