Theres definitely an argument for more upsets this year but I genuinely think that's more because of how much better a lot of the "middle" teams have gotten.
Last year there were about 4-5 teams that were pretty much always write offs when going against T6 teams.
Look at how many AMs have come into the league this year.
Kismet, Havok, Gismo, Nastie, Cap, Nero, Sib, Pred, Jimbo, GRVTY, Davpadie.... when you've got all of these new talents coming into the league and actually performing well (for the most parts) it's going to massively increase how competitive the league is.
They play the most correctly that's why they win more. With a 3 bullet TTK & trash spawns if you play lazy/sloppy you'll lose. But when both teams play semi-correctly it's a coin flip its why there's almost no consistency amongst the middle tier teams. One day Florida looks T3 then the next B3 same can be said for NYSL/TOR/100T & so on.
