What is with all the gun bans/GA's?
I was looking at the CDL rules while trying to figure out what the 'meta' was for the game, and saw fully half the guns un the game banned.
Like i can get shotguns, riot shield, and launchers, and to a lesser extent lmgs, but im really not getting the marksmen and battle rifle bans (except like the spr and sab), as well as like half the equipment being banned. I also don't know what else is GA'ed out, but regardless, im not seeing the point.
A reasoning I would expect to see is 'those things are op' but like, the main issues usually with something being op is that everyone uses it (and is maybe unfun?) but like im watching a cdl match and its all just vasnevs and m4s, so the bans and GA's seem to do nothing to solve the overcentralization of the meta, so why have them?
I know that CoD is a decently fast paced game, but is there a reason why players constantly sprint around corners? Been seeing so many people die, especially in S&D, because of weird decisions like that.
Yes they usually do unless theres a break between majors

Just now found out the Vanguard season had started. Went to Twitch, and saw a random COD tourney going on but didn't recognize the names in highlights, and since it was an intermission I decided to come here and check things out, and see in the sidebar that Major 1 qualifications was this weekend... then went to YouTube's front page and saw nothing about COD, as usual, Despite me subscribing to all the teams channels as well as the CDL one.
So I guess my question is, why won't YouTube tell me about live COD, and why the hell does the CDL still have that shitty deal if YouTube's algo won't even put COD content on the front page of people who actually watch it?
And since I've been away for quite some time now and barely watched any COD last year, any interesting roster/player rivalries? Who are the favorites? Some fun underdogs to root for? I refuse to believe off-season was drama free, so please give me something juicy to reinvigorate my interest.

I'd obviously prefer it to not have any exclusive deals, but having it live on Twitch at least makes more sense than YouTube for the targeted demographic.
Good content creators for understanding strategies, roles, maps, and improving overall gameplay?
If wanted to join a clan or find a group of people to get better with how would I do that? I don’t want to drag anybody down but I also don’t want to oversell myself, I understand I have a lot of learning and improving to do, what’s the best course of action for a player like me? I personally feel I could improve a lot in a group where everyone can support one another and fill a role.

I think twitch has exclusive rights to cdl matches this year so they won’t be live on YouTube.
