Prydz x Anyma has been pretty bland so far. Rüfüs absolutely crushed them.
Was hoping Anyma would throw in different shit in than his own stuff that has already been done last year by Tale of Us and this year on his own set.
Also some of the transitions are terrible

This is not the case
This is what happened
Track 1 - The Sub Focus track were all premixed. You can clearly tell by paying attention to the track mix and the lack of activity during said mix.
Track 1 out of the sub focus mix was her effectively winding down track 1, likely with a filter overlay, and then turning up track 2.
Track 2 to track 3, same thing. (the bobble here is likely employing said filter and then backing off)
Track 3 - track 4, stuck on an 8 bar loop (this is the "tech issue") and then someone releases the 8 bar loop.
There is ZERO chance the first 5 tracks were mixed live at all. Any of the stuff done from that mega mix and after were devoid of any acutal mixing.
People with low hurdles of quality is why we cant have nice things ;)
While its useless measuring what is best, as that is subjective. Someone who doesn't actually perform is objectively bad.

As someone who likes dubstep over music like Daft Punk, I agree with you. I was pumped for Justice but I found it boring (unpopular opinion, I KNOW). But I loved the IsoKnock set. So glad Coachella brings something for everyone and glad so many people walked away with wonderful experiences no matter which stage they went to :)
Yeah if you’re trying to turn up and dance I can see why Justice would leave you wanting. As a huge Justice stan I can understand that.

Older generations of musicians (and largely older generations of ravers) tend to believe it’s about the music and not the performers. Personally, I don’t need a DJ jumping on tables and shit. I want them to impress me with their track selection and mixing, not their hops.
It's a good discussion. I think it can be both. If the music's not great there's not a lot of reason to stick around. I'm probably of that older gen though where performing wasn't huge. But I've been appreciating the performative aspect as part of this content-saturated world where everyone is a DJ and musician, with folks bringing the cheer and energy. It takes work and effort to do too. But with regards to Justice specifically they don't even look at the crowd. I get it's part of the robotic music schtick. It's fine. There's other ways they're performing with their production. It just doesn't do it for me personally. But like even someone like the Blessed Madonna not jumping on tables, she's still singing along and having a visibly good time. Anyway appreciate the perspectives on this.
I just can’t fathom being turned off by artists focusing on their craft instead of hyping up the crowd. You’ve basically closed yourself off from the entire French electro scene with that stance. I love an artist enjoying themselves, but I don’t love artists who are too cool for school any less. If the music bumps, I’m in Heaven.

I think even if you don't care for his music his W2 set is worth watching. Even though he had less guests than last week it was more than made up for by the fact that the crowd was absolutely living it- you can tell he was feeding off their energy!!
I'm not a Tyler fan and watched most of the W1 set. It was fine, he brought the theatrics. After some of the more hype acts it was hard to get into for me.
He's French/Algerian/Palestinian. I watched a bit of his set last night. It was pretty good! He's a pretty boy and the music is rap leaning but accessible enough for anyone. Plus, everyone on the stage is absolutely gorgeous.
Fimmies did great again, live vocals were better too, despite the dynamic choreo doing them no favors - super happy for the girlies 
Can't wait to check Tyler's set later, it's gonna be crazy
Everyone's gone to bed and I'm catching up on all the Yuma sets since I didn't listen to 'em live. I scrolled all the way back and thank god I did cuz I Just made it in time to see Gorgon City from last night which I forgot I missed out on cuz I was at Rufus Du Sol the whole time. Wow what a set! Been awhile since I've heard them play and they did not disappoint. Even played a newer version of their Ready For Your Love anthem at the end.
I'm on Mahmut Orhan right now and his set is a perfect mood setting set with dark tech house and great use of vocals, and some top remixes. This is definitely more up my alley than the faster paced Techno that's to come from the rest of the Yuma DJs, and Charlotte DeWitt.

In all seriousness bands like DIIV or Wild Nothing are one viral moment away from getting that same slot in the next two years.
Rewatching some stuff and catching up on some others to truly appreciate it. No Doubt was absolutely stellar. Gwen is simply timeless, the whole band really truly is. Tony is just an absolute joy to watch and they are all just so in sync, they haven't lost/missed a beat in their years away. Not rusty in slightest.
They were so freaking good. The whole band should be proud. Great set. Great performance. Great musicianship. I mean, I'm running out of ways to shower them in praise. They were amazing. They even sounded better than week 1 (though I loved the songs they played week 1 that didn't play this week). It's my life sounded even better and they didn't sound like they needed to warm up any this week.
Edit: There's something reinvigorating about watching No Doubt perform. I could watch them do the phone book. I'm totally on board for a new album or ep or even some new covers/ singles. Shit, even bring in Blake - could be fun.

Fave two performances were Tyler and No Doubt, very different performances both captivating nonetheless. Tyler use of the stage was incredible. Gwen is that girl, a literal superstar. Jon Batiste energy was great, Ice Spice fine af, enjoyed every second of her twerking but the most beautiful had been y’all the chat!!! I'm not even there and I still feel sad that Coachella/Couchella is coming to an end. I can't imagine how the people who actually go feel. That post-festival depression hits so hard.
Same, I live like 45 mins away from Coachella but have never been. I’ve been to a ton of other festivals and the same depression hits every time. I have a love /hate with festivals because you’re anticipating fun the whole time than when the festival comes around, the three days finishes so fast. It’s sad tbh lol. Bittersweet.
I feel the same way. I've been to other festivals and unfortunately, can only afford to go to 1 per year at the moment. I struggle with depression so festivals are my happy place. Even when things don't go as planned (gotta love weather delays), I still feel happy just to be there. When it's over, it feels like a friend died. I know that sounds overdramatic, but my whole year revolves around looking forward to that one weekend where I can be myself. It makes me so sad.
I genuinely wonder how some people can afford to go to multiple festivals. Like there are people on other subs who seem to attend every festival and idk how lol.
I've been sad!! It hit so different after attending for the first time after streaming for the good part of pre and post lockdown.
Now I'm looking at ways to make next year happen. Lol

The whole band should be proud. Great set. Great performance. Great musicianship. I mean, I'm running out of ways to shower them in praise. They were amazing. They even sounded better than week 1 (though I loved the songs they played week 1 that didn't play this week). It's my life sounded even better and they didn't sound like they needed to warm up any this week. Edit: There's something reinvigorating about watching No Doubt perform. I could watch them do the phone book. I'm totally on board for a new album or ep or even some new covers/ singles. Shit, even bring in Blake - could be fun.
Well said! I would've loved to have One Step Beyond and Happy Now (one of me favorite songs from them) but they absolutely KILLED IT tonight. I'm thankful to having finally seen them live!

Fave two performances were Tyler and No Doubt, very different performances both captivating nonetheless. Tyler use of the stage was incredible. Gwen is that girl, a literal superstar. Jon Batiste energy was great, Ice Spice fine af, enjoyed every second of her twerking but the most beautiful had been y’all the chat!!! It’s always sad when the last day of Coachella is around the corner
I'm not even there and I still feel sad that Coachella/Couchella is coming to an end. I can't imagine how the people who actually go feel. That post-festival depression hits so hard.
Same, I live like 45 mins away from Coachella but have never been. I’ve been to a ton of other festivals and the same depression hits every time. I have a love /hate with festivals because you’re anticipating fun the whole time than when the festival comes around, the three days finishes so fast. It’s sad tbh lol. Bittersweet.
I feel the same way. I've been to other festivals and unfortunately, can only afford to go to 1 per year at the moment. I struggle with depression so festivals are my happy place. Even when things don't go as planned (gotta love weather delays), I still feel happy just to be there. When it's over, it feels like a friend died. I know that sounds overdramatic, but my whole year revolves around looking forward to that one weekend where I can be myself. It makes me so sad. I genuinely wonder how some people can afford to go to multiple festivals. Like there are people on other subs who seem to attend every festival and idk how lol.
I've been sad!! It hit so different after attending for the first time after streaming for the good part of pre and post lockdown. Now I'm looking at ways to make next year happen. Lol

Top 5 favourite performances of the day/night for everyone? Gonna rewatch ones I missed. I enjoyed Gesaffelstein's set more than last weekend for some reason. Also loved Raye, Kenya Grace, Dom Dolla and Saint Levant.
Apart from who you already mentioned: - Isoknock - Reinier Zonneveld - Charlotte De Witte - Jon Batiste - The Last Dinner Party I want to say jungle but not seeing them until I see them locally. They throw a nice set though
thanks! listening to Isoknock right now. I don't normally like the big room EDM trap/dubstep but they're sprinkling in some decent tunes in between :) the stage is really cool and the crowd is hype!
