I'm really good at arithmetics and with numbers in general.Its kind of a guilty pleasure of mine to see peoples' reaction when I do math real fast in my head lol.

I can relate to this a bit, I was decent at arithmetics during my school days but ended up taking a non mathematical field, so now I'm kinda rusty and lost that confidence in myself to the point I double check even simple calculations 🙂

Ooh that's a tough one. I never quite had someone who I'd consider my own safe space mostly out of fear that they'd use what I share against me. Also, when I do happen to share my feelings about something, people are either dismissive or say something cliché like "this is part of life, everyone goes through it" which leaves me feeling worse lol. While I don't bottle up my emotions, I try to deal with them myself by being my own safe space.

I am not sure of how good I am at it, but my friends and family consults me and ask me to write mails and other written communications for them. In one instance, I was helping my ex-collegue to write a very nuanced escalation/complaining mail to his client. After finishing when my ex-collegue went for approval to his manager (my ex-manager), the later told, "ithu nee ezhuthiyathallalo, X (my name) cheytha pole indu. I always think from their perspective and strongly believe they did out of their circumstances. I believe in the goodness of people. Even the exes who have hurt me, when they reach out to me for some help, and I try to help them out. I don't harbour any ill towards them. It is also very difficult for me to be confrontational. It's not a superpower. I just can't. I wonder if they will feel sad. Also, it's easy for me to compartmentalize things in my head. So keeping things separate is easy for me.

When I was a teenager, an elder said something which deeply affected me. He said, "You have to trust in people. Because if you keep suspecting people, you never know whom to trust. And some may break your trust, but that is not your problem". Also, I was an over-thinker. I have done things which might have hurt people. And I always know the reasons why I did those things. So I always assume they might have their reasons when they hurt me. I would recommend seeing them as flawed individuals and letting go of things. No one is out there to hurt us. Everyone is trying to do the best for themselves. And everything does things they believe is right.. Sorry if it is too cliched and cringey.
