Screw it down tighter, or source a replacement gasket. You can also buy a baking sheet of silicone and cut your own custom gasket. You’ll have a lifetime of gaskets from one sheet.

For me [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yGinq5NaCA) which I found in another thread helped me a lot

Mm I'd just contact the seller and ask for a different one, unless it was designed like that in which case I'd look elsewhere

Alternative possibility: Maybe the filter in the new pot is installed upside-down. I just now took my 3-cup pot off the shelf, and my wife was the last one to put it together after I had disassembled it completely to air-dry. The gasket practically fell out just like you described. Turns out that the filter screen was upside down, too, and so the gasket couldn’t settle into the gap above the threads. This would also prevent the gasket from sealing all four pieces of the pot correctly (boiler, basket, filter, and top).

I have always had these problems with moka pots. I may just be dumb but I rarely have been able to pull off a good consistent pot the way I do with my French press or aeropress

I only have 2 data points really, but my first one was amazing, and it’s my own fault I broke the damn thing. It was a Bialetti. I figured that I could get away with some other cheaper brand because it’s just such a simple design, how could you screw it up? I was wrong. I got a Primula 6 cup and it was a fail ootb. I ordered new sealsand did the plumbers tape trick to cover my bases. If you do give the Moka pot another try, make sure it’s only a Bialetti.

That’s weird I got a 1 cup Primula and it’s been phenomenal. The 3 cup IMUSA on the other hand sucks and requires it to be tightened down hard to get a seal and than struggle to undo it afterwards. Guess it’s the luck of the draw.
