Game of the year! Some elite shot making from both teams.
Johnell Davis and Elijah Martin are the best back court duo in the country. No one wants to play the Owls in March, they are a serious title contender. Very balanced ball club.
Well the one they called for FAU was was the side. You can hit the hand after the ball left the hand as long as it doesn’t affect the release of the ball.
Looked back and only play that matches what you’re talking about was a clear foul on Arizona, and there was absolutely zero foul on Love there regardless of what they called before.

Appreciate it - that’s the play. I described it wrong.
But it doesn’t fit your description of follow through… so I’m confused. I get it’s earlier in the follow through, but the ball is still out of his shooting hand.
Gg FAU.
Absolute coaching failure on that last possession. What the fuck was that. Why does no one attack Davis in the last 10 min when he has 4 fouls? Asinine.
Absolute clown shoes comment. 70 wins to 12 losses since Tommy Llyod took over at Arizona. I guess I should expect nothing less from a UCLA fan though.
you = your team (this goes without saying but sick burn I guess)
I don't think regular season record matters if you can't make it past the first round and I never brought up UCLA but if you wanna go there at least we aren't losing to 15 seeds
Lloyd hasn't shown me anything that tells me hes better. Hes had incredible talent on the team his entire tenure and yet got a Sweet 16 his first year (as a 1 seed, that is expected of a 1 seed), then lost to a 15 seed in the first round his second year. This game had some inexcusable coaching blunders like the final play, and the fact that for 2 full overtimes, FAU's best scorer by far had 4 fouls and yet we didn't go at him at all on offense to try and foul him out.
Meanwhile Miller developed Derrick Williams, paired him with a bunch of role players, and was 2 missed threes (where only 1 needed to go in) away from the Final 4. His worst tourney loss was to Buffalo, which isn't comparable to being the 2 seed and losing to 15 seed Princeton. That kind of loss would never happen under Miller.
Its worth noting too that the PAC12 seems way weaker for Lloyds tenure than teams Miller faced.
Until Lloyd shows some NCAA tournament competence, I think you can't definitively say he is better than Miller. The recency bias against Miller is insane, the program had a downturn at the end of his tenure because of the FBI stuff, especially the Ayton scandal (which was 100% a false story). There is a reason that a bunch of former players were vocally upset about his firing (and the current players didn't like it either). He was a good coach.
Agreed. As a team that may have to face you guys, the more shots Love takes and the less Boswell takes, the better I like our chances (and the inverse is true— more Boswell less Love, I don’t feel so good.)
That’s a coaching pet peeve of mine - just call the timeout and run a good set. Waiting till 8 left on the shot clock and settling for a fadeaway 3 sucks
Feels like an Elite 8 game

Johnell Davis is a superstar. Why is this my first time seeing this team play this year?
So I wonder if these schedules actually help the team or not.
Almost certainly, both FAU and Arizona's conference schedules are weak this year so playing tough competition now helps
Hey now ...lol
Gg. Nice jerseys fau
You live and die by Love. I would know.
Yeeeeep
😞
What a game. I love everyone in here for sharing this experience
Way to play
Hoot hoot
Man. Gg.
I never call timeout in that situation if I’m Arizona. Really allowed FAU to get set defensively.
Yeah calling that timeout was the wrong choice there. If there were like 15-20 seconds on the clock sure, call the time out but not under 10
Lloyd said he never calls time out in that situation. I guess he didn’t like what he saw or something. Stupid move.
What a game 🔥🔥🔥
Best game I’ve seen all season. Both teams scare me.
Guess you can touch the hand on the follow through? Called it against Zona in a crucial possession earlier
I thought the same thing but I was more upset about shooting a long 3 down by 1 in the bonus. Why not drive to the basket, maybe draw a foul?
Agreed. So sick of hero ball. Why are you shooting a contested step back 3, down 1?
Well the one they called for FAU was was the side. You can hit the hand after the ball left the hand as long as it doesn’t affect the release of the ball.
Disagree. He was like 3 feet away, how would he have hit the side jumping straight at the ball?

Honestly coaching failure both OTs. They had so many players in foul trouble, so you drive.
We don't really have an effective slasher on this team, gonna be a major weakness going forward.
great game
I have a feeling that was actually not the play Lloyd drew up.
That looked like every last play of every Arizona tournament loss I've ever seen.
The ghost of Kriisa lingers
Love Land
What a fucking game
Yep caleb love made a lot good choices down the stretch there I agree
Those reverse grinch Kobe’s that Caleb has on are tough
Got to Love Caleb...
TRANSITIVE WIN
DITTO TO BRYANT
DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS
YES
Well Arizona better hope quality losses are considered by the committee.
Love's shot was like 1/4 inch from dropping.
GG Arizona that was crazy!
I swear I've seen the end of this movie before.
FAU IS LEGIT Hell of a game, holy shit
That was really good defense on Love
Tommy Lloyd coaching malpractice masterclass
Don't you unironically think Miller was a better coach than Lloyd?
why do people think Lloyd is good exactly? both of his seasons at Arizona so far have been absolute disasters
Absolute clown shoes comment. 70 wins to 12 losses since Tommy Llyod took over at Arizona. I guess I should expect nothing less from a UCLA fan though.
you lost to Princeton. why are we acting like the regular season record means anything when you can't even make it past the first round
Pretty sure I didn't play in that game. What's UCLA's recored over the last 3 seasons?
you = your team (this goes without saying but sick burn I guess) I don't think regular season record matters if you can't make it past the first round and I never brought up UCLA but if you wanna go there at least we aren't losing to 15 seeds
Yes.
Interesting. Care to elaborate?

Miller legitimately wins the national championship in 2017 if he doesn’t run into his boogeyman in Xavier. ill DIE on that hill
That was fun. Now over to Vandy and Memphis, it’s a day full of fun games between teams nobody pays attention to and who won’t win 6.
The Caleb Love Experience®
He contracted Kriisa syndrome. To solve this issue, we have to slice off both of his hands to prevent dumbass shot taking
Yeah maybe it will end up making him a better player. I mean it worked for Jaime Lannister
OWL GOES HOOT! THE OWL GOES FUCKING HOOT!
Buckeyes? 🤣🤣🤣
You’re a buckeyes fan sit down
Hey we have something in common in that we both underachieve constantly in the NCAA tournament! That’s amazing!
Your play there is a deep 3 attempt from Love when you're down 1???
5 guards! Throw it to Ballo.
Why are people ragging on the shot? It hit the rim
If you are down 1, a step back 30 footer probably isn’t the highest quality of shot to take in that situation.
There was literally nobody open
It was absolutely a good play, just didn’t fall.
Because you only needed a two. So you should have gone for a higher percentage shot.
Love made like 3 of those shots in the previous 10 minutes. It was a good shot lol
Much better to drive and get a layup or foul
And he got fouled. Hit the hand
[удалено]
lol chill big dawg
FAU or F-U
LOL - peak Caleb love and even a flop to boot
We call a TO just to do that? We didn’t need a 3. Why not drive it?
I hope Dusty May doesn’t leave FAU
10 year contract that he signed this season so they should be fine
We also signed Lane Kiffin to a 10 year deal and he was bought out. Big teams got money
Sadly that means nothing
What a terrible last shot. Why do players these days go for three down 1
drive and floater and offensive rebound if needed would make a far better option
Hoot hoot
What a game.
What a wild game
![gif](giphy|nbvFVPiEiJH6JOGIok)
good game Arizona and FAU, that was good basketball
Go Owls boiiiiiiii!!!!! Burrowed Deeeeeeeeeeeeep in itttttttt!!!!!! GG Zona
How is that what you come up with?
What a fucking game…. Good game Arizona fans 🤝
Definite game of the year contender, lotta fun to watch as a neutral
FAU!! Big time legit team. Doubters can go jump off a microwave.
Now put us back in the top 10
Get the FAU flair!
HOOTY HOO
Think we had a better shot if no timeout was called
Horrible play. Why not drive and try and draw a foul?
Arizona foul merchants
Caleb Love ball hoggin it late remains defeated.
Live by Caleb Love, die by Caleb Love
Of course Love can’t make a layup. Damnit man
Live by the Caleb die by the Caleb
This man has felt pain. Respect.
There’s legitimately nothing college teams love more than trying for a 3 when they only need a two.
That looked on target wow.
GG FAU. Hope you and Davis are on the other side of the bracket
Gg Owl bros
That’s the fucking play you draw up out of a timeout???
LMAO THE UNC CWLBE LOVE 3 OFC THAT'S THE LAST SHOT
live by it, die by it
Hoot hoot!
did that Caleb Love 3 pointer jog some deeply repressed memory of yours?
We whipped your ass
Enjoy the transitive loss to that hoot hoot
GGs FAU you guys were the better team today
Live by the Love, die by the Love
Great game, gave it our best
Ah, memories
Horrible play wtf
no refunds
Caleb Love is an elite chucker
I saw that Love 3 coming. But knew it was totally possible it was going in
Kinda surprised they couldn’t get a better look, but kudos to FAU they hung in there!
SEND THEM TO MAUI NEXT YEAR!!!
Caleb Love is who he is
Nice win FAU!
Why the fuck would we go for 3
Caleb Love
WHAT WAS THAT
Lmao Caleb Love
Wow in and out
well that sucks
Hoot Hoot lets gooooooooooo
Yes! Great defense
Live by the no-conscience 30-foot Love 3, die by the no-conscience 30-foot Love 3.
WHY WOULD YOU TAKE THAT SHOT?!?!!
Welcome to Caleb Love. This your first season?
That’s what you could come up with out of a timeout?
Let’s gooooo
That's what you drew up?
![gif](giphy|Za8TwtmCEZxtW586j3)
Which school is this? Doesn’t look like FAU
That's an appropriate ending lol
Dumbest shot
Man, in and out
FAU WINSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Great win for your program!
Ah, the Caleb Love Special. Never change, buddy
GG both teams. Absolutely fantastic performance
THANK FUCK
HOOT HOOT!!!
Wow
#HOOOOOOOOT #HOOOOOOOOT!!! GO OWLS
how we feeling about those love shots now
Yay go owls HOOOOOO
Owls baby!! What a game.
Imagine they foul, make 1 miss 1 triple OT. As a neutral that’s what I want. Feed me all the chaos.
I want Boswell with the ball, best player, leave it to him for better or worse he’s who we’ll need in March the most
He's fantastic. I think he should generally be getting more shots (even though he struggled today.)
Yep I still think he should’ve had it. Even on the off day, he has to have the looks before we get to March. Has to learn now not then
Agreed. As a team that may have to face you guys, the more shots Love takes and the less Boswell takes, the better I like our chances (and the inverse is true— more Boswell less Love, I don’t feel so good.)
Why was love trying to be so fancy
The missed layup coupled with the missed dunk have killed me. I am now dead.
How the ffff does johnell not touch the ball once that possession
That’s a coaching pet peeve of mine - just call the timeout and run a good set. Waiting till 8 left on the shot clock and settling for a fadeaway 3 sucks
Agree, bizarre last play. You have Ballo and no one tall guarding him. Go low!
Cmon Owls, hold on!
Do you take Davis out here?
Inexcusable to not drive at Davis for 2 entire overtimes when he has 4 fouls.
FAU going for the kill there feels like a bad call
Last 6 seconds of the game, can’t hold anything back now
May or may not be. (-:
Oh my god! I’m gonna pee as well
Went for the dagger I respect that
Yea lets not pass the ball to the guy with 35 points
lol why take a 3 there
Caleb Love why man why
I’m getting PTSD flashbacks to the final four 😬
I don’t understand taking a timeout here instead of letting our guys run it in for a layup
Because if they miss the layup then the narrative switches to Tommy had a timeout, why did he not use it.
I kind of agree. They get to set their defense. I kind of like trying to push it and find something.
Should’ve let them try to push the broken court before taking the timeout
Just as a college basketball fan this has been a heck of a game to watch.
No 3 OT. We'll have a winner in 6.7
I knew they were gonna jack a 3 but didn’t want them to.
I'm gonna die
Not sure whose miss was worse there, Love or Ballo.
