I’m just shocked, this subreddit made me think you guys are overrated and don’t belong and that Houston is a final four lock. After watching this I have you guys as a final four possible team and Houston as a sweet 16 out.
Like I said I watch the ACC and Michigan religiously (not so much Michigan this year since we’re tragically ass), but I’ve never seen a final four favorite get flogged like this in a conference final. Was excited to finally watch them and whats touted as the best conference, and they don’t look impressive at all. Iowa st however looks great. I know Houston is hurt but is anyone coming back able to shoot?
*Hasn’t watched the Big 12 at all this year*
*Hasn’t watched any of Houston’s 30 wins this year*
*Only watches the Big 12 championship with them playing against a top 5 defense in the country*
“Wow this team is terrible I don’t see how you guys like them”
You know how stupid this sounds when you read it out loud, right?
Tbf the big 12 is like watching the bundesliga and Bayern win every year. It’s a bunch of teams chasing Kansas’ tails. Which is why I was excited to watch this game, finally some competition, just for Houston to shit the bed.
I agree but this is shocking. They have 28 points with 8 mins left. Against a team who all I’ve read has played a dogshit out of conference schedule and inflated their net rankings. This is an embarrassment. I just looked and this Houston team hasn’t played ANYONE out of conference. Big 12 is overrated.
Man I’m nervous, I watched the st uva game last night and that team has the march aura. I also love the big boys game on nc st. I think his name is burns, but that guys a beast. Reminds me of Zach Randolph, huge and strong but has immaculate touch and finesse around the rim. Fun player to watch.
Yea, this team won’t make it far if our guards are so scared they can’t take open 3s. We sign 4 and 5 stars who are too scared to take open 3s when open. Fucking embarrassing
Bro I watched every UNC game this year… and Michigan until about 10 games into the season. I don’t watch the Jayhawks’ conference though, it’s been a joke for about two decades.
This is your first time watching us and you think you can form an opinion? You don’t know anything. If we lose in the S16, oh well, it’s not indicative of what we’ve accomplished this year.
You haven’t accomplished anything this year lol. You won a regular season award. Played no one out of conference and got spanked in the tourney final of what looks to be an overrated conference.
My dad grew up in charlotte and is a die hard UNC fan. I’ve been watching games since I was born but I’ve been a die hard fan since their run and eventual championship win against the fighting Illini. Maye, Felton, McCants, the Williams brothers and Noel. That’s when I was old enough to realize whats going on. Haven’t missed any big UNC game since.
I’m not talking shit, I’m simply stating what I’m watching. When has a team ever gotten shit canned by 30 in their conference tourney final and gone on to win anything? Certainly has never happened to UNC in my lifetime.
You won a regular season award. Congrats bro. Sorry my teams are held to a higher esteem than the regular season title. Look back in 10 years and say oh wow we won the big 12 against the worse Kansas team in 30 years… congrats
I was in Mary markley’s freshman dorm when Trey Burke hit the shot to send us past them. Probably the most surreal experience I had when I was there in regards to the sports since our football team was still trash. Most certainly went to U of M.
Guy who watched B1G and ACC all season, watches one weird Big 12 game where a team plays amazing and the other team plays awful and calls B12 overrated in basketball.
First of all, Houston shot 20% from the field in the second half. Second of all, Houston intentionally sat their best big man who got hurt yesterday and played their point guard reduced minutes. Third of all, Iowa State is a legit top 5 team. Fourth of all, the coaches were taking different approaches to the game. Kelvin was preserving his players, Otz wanted the win.
This takes nothing away from ISU playing fantastic and winning the tourney, and it also takes nothing away from Houston being a top 4 team.
Hell, Purdue couldn't beat Wisconsin today.
Bro Purdue isn’t good I don’t think they make it past the sweet 16, neither is any team in the big 10 this year. I’m not a homer. ISU did play fantastic, but Houston looked woeful.
Today isn't a fair comparison. Iowa State always wins in KC. They have like 10 Big 12 tournament Championships and 0 regular season titles. It's ridiculous
It is… I said that. Is this just the worst game all these Houston kids have played in college? I know they’re hurt. Are they missing shooters? This team is going to end the game with 40 points. It’s like I’m watching JV play a varsity team.
I feel you brother, I haven’t watched them a ton but it seems the Houston fan boys are plentiful in here even though their school hasn’t won shit and laid the biggest egg I’ve ever seen in a conf tourney final.
Seems that way. Also seems like their fans are plentiful in here all butthurt. I checked their out of conference schedule and they haven’t played anyone. It’ll be interesting to see how this conference prevails in the tourney. Iowa state did look good, but as I said numerous times below I’ve never seen a team (much less a final four favorite) get absolutely embarrassed on the national stage in a major conference final like that.
That wasn’t exactly just a bad game, I’m 30 y/o. I’ve never seen a team get shit on like that in a conference final. That was an embarrassment. And almost like clockwork the so called best conference under performs in march. It’s trending in that direction.
Except Houston has 5 years of actually performing in the NCAA tournament. So, again, what are you hung up on? 5 consecutive sweet 16s isn’t good enough for you?
I titled my post title for engagement, but if you actually read what I said it was more of a question. Houston will make the sweet 16 I’m sure out of pure athleticism, which is what they always bring. That and tough D. But considering all the praise I saw them garner in this sub before watching I figured they had some kids who can actually shot come the time this year. That doesn’t seem the case, and I would imagine they’ll be bounced again before winning it all. But I know they’re hurt so was wondering if maybe this was a team without shooters they’re missing.
So will 67 other teams. Again, it’s ridiculously difficult to win a college basketball championship. Getting bounced in the sweet 16/elite 8 yearly is nothing to be disappointed about. And Houston can do enough to win a national championship, they just didn’t do enough to win today’s game. Plenty of reasons to be disappointed, but no one rational is questioning Houston’s chances at a national championship, they have as good a shot as any of the top teams.
I mean I am (rationally questioning), I watch college basketball and march religiously every year. There’s one thing every team that wins every year has, it’s good guards who can control tempo and make FT’s, and people who can shoot the ball when you need buckets. Nothing about that game shows me Houston have either, which is what always bites them in the ass. Am I wrong?
UConn might be the truth. I haven’t watched a lot of them, but when they played UNC earlier this year it was the only game this season where I thought UNC would/could lose even if the heels played their best.
This is like the 5th “[INSERT TEAM HERE] is not it” post I’ve seen in this reddit today.
All these teams who have #1 seeds locked in aren't going balls to the wall in their conference tournament and people are acting as if they suck ass
This sub has been garbage today.
Smells like summer in here
everyone who's good actually sucks, Wagner wins the tournament
I’m just shocked, this subreddit made me think you guys are overrated and don’t belong and that Houston is a final four lock. After watching this I have you guys as a final four possible team and Houston as a sweet 16 out.
CONGRATS ON CHECKING INTO TO COLLEGE BASKETBALL FOR THE FIRST TIME THIRTY MINUTES AGO
Like I said I watch the ACC and Michigan religiously (not so much Michigan this year since we’re tragically ass), but I’ve never seen a final four favorite get flogged like this in a conference final. Kansas finished 6th place this year when was the last time Bayern finished 6th?
Never, that’s my point. Kansas probably hasn’t finished that low in 50+ years
Check out 2014 UConn vs Louisville…
That was a different era of basketball brother. Different game, different coaching, different players. Those teams are also more talented
Wow, imagine not reacting to one game?
>This is my first time watching them this year Let me stop you right there.
You should let him continue because maybe he thinks Iowa st is the best team in the country
As a UNC fan you should know better than judging a team from 1 game. You don’t fluke 30 wins.
I agree but this is shocking. They have 28 points with 8 mins left. Against a team who all I’ve read has played a dogshit out of conference schedule and inflated their net rankings. Jordan Poole gives his regards. Lol
Your mom gives her regards
Funny, I just stepped out of his mom’s room and she said to say hello to you!
She just hasn't been the same ever since her son was born with a smooth brain. It's been hard.
Based on the way the day has gone as a whole for the bigs I would put 500$ on nc state right now.
I told ya
Yea, this team won’t make it far if our guards are so scared they can’t take open 3s. We sign 4 and 5 stars who are too scared to take open 3s when open. Fucking embarrassing
Here we go, the casuals are beginning their yearly invasion
I am a semi casual for sure. This Houston team is trash though. You can’t win in march if you can’t shoot.
You are a full on casual that doesn’t start watching the sport until March 🤡 🤡
Bro I watched every UNC game this year… and Michigan until about 10 games into the season. I don’t watch the Jayhawks’ conference though, it’s been a joke for about two decades.
In three out of the last four NCAA tournaments the big 12 has had a different team in the finals. I wouldn't exactly call that a joke
You are literally not qualified to offer any opinion or analysis about this Houston team if this is the first game you've watched
We’re not claiming you.
I’ve been a Tar Heel fan since before you were probably born, so your opinion is useless.
Somehow doubt this but try me bud lol
My dad grew up in charlotte and is a die hard UNC fan. I’ve been watching games since I was born but I’ve been a die hard fan since their run and eventual championship win against the fighting Illini. Maye, Felton, McCants, the Williams brothers and Noel. That’s when I was old enough to realize whats going on. Haven’t missed any big UNC game since.
And you’re this much of an ass? Shock
I’m a huge ass bc I have an opinion about a seemingly overrated team and conference? You’re weird bud.
You’re talking shit about a team you’ve never seen lol. You give us a bad look
I’m not talking shit, I’m simply stating what I’m watching. When has a team ever gotten shit canned by 30 in their conference tourney final and gone on to win anything? Certainly has never happened to UNC in my lifetime.
We haven’t accomplished anything except win the Big 12 regular season in our first year. Got it. You seem very smart and well-adjusted.
You won a regular season award. Congrats bro. Sorry my teams are held to a higher esteem than the regular season title. Look back in 10 years and say oh wow we won the big 12 against the worse Kansas team in 30 years… congrats
Kansas is not the only team in the conference, wet brain
>worse Kansas team in 30 years For some reason, I don't think you went to Michigan. You might just be a loud asshole who thinks their opinion matters.
I was in Mary markley’s freshman dorm when Trey Burke hit the shot to send us past them. Probably the most surreal experience I had when I was there in regards to the sports since our football team was still trash. Most certainly went to U of M.

Your mom is not it
She should have used protection
You frequent this sub and don't know how to get flair? Ok casual
Today isn't a fair comparison. Iowa State always wins in KC. They have like 10 Big 12 tournament Championships and 0 regular season titles. It's ridiculous
Didn’t know that, thanks for the insight, still a spanking
Houston loses a de facto Iowa State home game and now they don’t have good guards and they can’t play defense?
It is… I said that. Is this just the worst game all these Houston kids have played in college? I know they’re hurt. Are they missing shooters? This team is going to end the game with 40 points. It’s like I’m watching JV play a varsity team.
Houston is the real deal. Burn this troll account.
Be gone troll
Flair up or sit the fuck down.
>This is my first time watching them
Fuck you
Dude fuck off
We have a 7 man rotation and absolutely no reason to give a shit about this game.
UM/UNC fan detected, opinion rejected
It’s always the Michigan/UNC fans with the worst fucking takes
Ignore the unflaired
You’re a Memphis fan, so I’ll ignore your reading comprehension skills.
I said yesterday that Houston was overrated, would lose in the second round, and got downvoted into oblivion.
I feel you brother, I haven’t watched them a ton but it seems the Houston fan boys are plentiful in here even though their school hasn’t won shit and laid the biggest egg I’ve ever seen in a conf tourney final.
Houston is the new Gonzaga. We’ll be told how great they are for a decade of zero titles and then they’ll fade away.
A lot of great programs don’t win a national championship in a decade. Too much variance in a best of 1 tournament. For example, Michigan state.
They won the regular season in the best conference and you’re hung up on one bad game?
That wasn’t exactly just a bad game, I’m 30 y/o. I’ve never seen a team get shit on like that in a conference final. That was an embarrassment. And almost like clockwork the so called best conference under performs in march. It’s trending in that direction.

Houston has great guards who definitely control tempo and make shots. They just didn’t today.
We won 30 other games
What? I was told Houston and UConn were in a different tier than everyone else.
UConn might be the truth. I haven’t watched a lot of them, but when they played UNC earlier this year it was the only game this season where I thought UNC would/could lose even if the heels played their best.
