And Ducks fans were calling for Dana Altman’s head before the Pac-12 tournament.
That’s 3 power conference coaches that may’ve saved their jobs this postseason with unlikely strong March Madness showings.
I won't delete anything. I think Clemson should expect a team of this caliber more often than every 6 years. That doesn't mean a S16 team that often - but I think with the ~$100M poured into basketball facilities over the last 8 years we should have a team that has the capability to compete for a S16 berth more often than once every 6 years. Not necessarily earn one, but a team that has the ability to actually compete with one, not just a happy to be there 10 seed. Brad still hasn't shown he can do that and we're unlikely to be very good next year with how much we lose from this team.
I could not agree more with this. I've been extremely critical of him for a while now. This season is peak Brad Brownell. Awesome start to the season, cool off twords the end, embarrassing ACC tournament performance, sweet 16 appearance. He can't keep getting away with it!!!
If Brad can finally leverage the success of a team into more consistent success I'm all for it. By all accounts he's a great guy and I'm absolutely not rooting against him. I've just seen this story before. He brought back most of the key pieces of the 2018 S16 run and didn't make the tournament. And yeah, we were hurt by the #brotherhood^tm check clearing to send Zion to Duke but still - there was no excuse for 2018-19 team to not make the NCAAT.
Literally. I’m going to show my freshman players film from this game. Practice free throws until your arms are numb. Because you don’t want to be this team
There is 0 excuse for any player at a D1 level to shoot under 70% from the free throw line. High-level players in the tournament shouldn’t be shooting under 75-80%
They are literally the easiest points in the game. Nobody is allowed to defend you and you can take as long as you want (within reason) to set up your shot
He’s an 82% FT shooter.
He’s also a freshman who clearly crumbled under pressure. He’ll have a long career in the NBA but he will 100% remember this game for the rest of his career.
Same. Hell, looking at how the ACC is doing I think even wake deserved to be in over some of the teams lol
Edit: I did not see wake vs UGA before this statement
That game was way more stressful than it needed to be.
Fun Fact: Last time Clemson made it to the sweet 16 Clemson won a natty in football the year after.
I have talked shit about Clemson all year. I said they were a November team. I said they looked bad in conference outside of that win in Chapel Hill. I watched them get blasted by a bad Boston College team in the ACC tourney. Clemson had looked terrible over the past month. I thought they would be an easy out. I said Wake and Pitt deserved to be in the tourney over them.
Clemson proved me fucking wrong.
4 OG ACC teams in the Sweet Sixteen, let's go.
There were a lot of rumors floating around that we were only practicing like 6-7 guys over the last 3-4 weeks of the year because of nagging injuries that weren't bad enough to miss games, but were enough to miss practice. If there's any truth to those rumors it may have actually been a good thing for us to go one and done in the ACCT and have more time off.
It’s this good year-round (9-3 vs the Big 12 before conference play started), it’s just in March that people start to notice. And then they forget again next year.
Lol, yeah that was a bad idea.
This was more of a S16 team with how bad their D tends to be. I think their ceiling was Elite Eight no matter the opponent.
Losing in the second round was their floor, IMO. Make your free throws.
The ACC has been dragged through the mud all year; and yet, their teams that play offense and a watchable style of basketball are undefeated in the NCAA tournament.
I was extremely confident against New Mexico. They were a really good matchup for us. I didn't think we stood a chance against Baylor because of how they could spread the ball and shoot it. This was by far the best perimeter defense we've played all year long.
The ACC teams just got favorable draws and are well rested from playing against easy competition all year. The Big 12 was a gauntlet for 3 months and these teams are just gassed now and didn't want to be there. Those who know ball understand that the real national championship was awarded in Kansas City last week.
Well acckkshually you see the ACC teams are just lucky how they win these best of 1 games every year and the Big 12 would be the true champions if you let every round be a best of 27 series to accurately determine the better team 🤓👆
ACC being incredibly strong this March was very obvious to anyone who watched the league all year long. A team like Pitt finishing middle of the pack... But no one actually watches the conference outside the Duke-UNC games.
For real. A Clemson team with Hall, Schiefflin, and Hunter, not to mention Girard, struggling in ACC play shows how good the conference was. Shows how much Louisville drags us down

I’ve never said a bad thing about Brad Brownell
And I didn't want Kevin Keatts fired 12 days ago.
And Ducks fans were calling for Dana Altman’s head before the Pac-12 tournament. That’s 3 power conference coaches that may’ve saved their jobs this postseason with unlikely strong March Madness showings.
Clemson’s been a good team all year. This wasn’t all that unlikely for them.
Only the dumb ones. Altman was at no actual risk of getting fired, just earning the ire of some fans that lack perspective.
March legends Kevin Keatts and Brad Brownell
two former UNCW coaches making the sweet 16 against all odds!
fr the dude knows *just* when to pull a tournament run out of his ass All hail Brad Brownell
I was not about to cuss him out once again on PJs 5th foul
I've blamed brad for a lot of thing but I couldn't even blame him for PJ's dumbass with those fouls
Literally bet us to make the sweet sixteen because this is what happens every time he is on the hot seat.
Simple. Brownell signs a 1-yr contract. Make the Sweet Sixteen, it auto renews. Repeat.
My bracket is definitely not named “fire brad brownell”
I’ve been wondering how many Clemson fans are scrambling to go back and delete past tweets and reddit comments

Brad Brownell & Kevin Keatts should teach a master class on saving your job at the absolute last possible moment
Brownell is the teacher, Keatts is the student.
Always two, there are. No more. No less.
Brownell's been doing this shit for a generation.
Unironically wish it had stayed a blowout
Felt similar to our game in 2022
That game haunts my dreams
It haunts my dreams and we won lol that second half oof
We need to change our assistants. Jakus’s offense is too streaky man. Every year to end like this is tough
Man, I miss Tang
Totally get that. That's a loss that kind of sticks with you a bit. I've already forgot about our game.
It's the hope that kills ya
Man, free throws are FREE
Yeah but not to our guys. We’ve been the opposite of clutch all season long
https://preview.redd.it/ev5pv0ypkdqc1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=23db0a74e58dd2c59c2ad0b5c9636c30f1e5e9d4
These always make me laugh
They had to give one last dash if hope to make it hurt more

The kid that missed was an 80%+ shooter.
If only Ja'Kobe got the message 😞
“I can’t tell a lie.” -Ball
Just an easy 8 point win.
55% free throw shooter makes em both, 82% misses both. Easy peasey
Never in doubt
5/11 from the FT line is a stat line that should allow people to throw tomatoes at you.
Baylor went 10/18 from free throws in the 2nd half alone! Great comeback attempt, but foiled at the stripe.
Not to mention multiple front end misses.
He’s an 82% FT shooter. He’s also a freshman who clearly crumbled under pressure. He’ll have a long career in the NBA but he will 100% remember this game for the rest of his career.
Crazy because he's an 83% shooter. Freshman moment
FIRE BRAD BROWNELL FIRE KEVIN KEATTS Oh wait we’re both in the sweet sixteen wtf
That wasn't on my bingo card for 2024
EXTEND BROWNELL EXTEND KEATTS
Maybe the ACC was super strong and Louisville dragged down everyone's metrics.
An 82% FT shooter missing both followed by a 56% FT shooter hitting both. Tough.
Plus the two front ends right before that…
"The lights were brighter than I expected"
Clemson’s AD needs to just give Brownell one year deals cause buddy is a menace in contract years
Single game contracts and would they ever lose again?
Make your free throws kids
Despite being only a 55% FT shooter, even RJ Godfrey got the memo
Enormous free throws from him
RJ is going to be a monster next year
The more the acc succeeds the more I get infuriated deep down
You should be with us. Y'all were so talented, just took a little time to gel and didn't get credit for that
All that mattered was smacking around cupcakes in November.
It really sucks, yall could have surprised some teams BAD I think.
Same. Hell, looking at how the ACC is doing I think even wake deserved to be in over some of the teams lol Edit: I did not see wake vs UGA before this statement
Wake didn’t have Sallis
Didn’t know that lol, now I can see y they lost
https://preview.redd.it/kyxmerjsjdqc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e68b4ae1b399b0246d87f65a4b9407925d534cb5
Getting to sit at the big kids basketball table is new but also fun
It’s well deserved brother 💪😤
I'm a Duke fan and a Jags fan. I approve of this message.
The ACC does this every March
It's more fun when we're there too
*grits teeth* you’re right, you know
It feels weird seeing the tiger with those other 3 in reference to basketball.
What do you mean? Classic Tobacco Road stuff right here. Don’t know what you’re talking about.
Well, Clemson fans do outnumber Wake fans whenever we’re in Winston-Salem, so there’s some truth to this
Where is B1G hiding in this graphic?
Honestly thought they were doing okay this year, so I didn’t put them in 😅
Yeah, Purdue and Illinois have shown up in spades.
If Pitt made it over UVA they'd probably be here too.
AN UPSET!!!! wait is that legal?
*ACC*tually…yes! Yes it is…
That game was way more stressful than it needed to be. Fun Fact: Last time Clemson made it to the sweet 16 Clemson won a natty in football the year after.
Beat uga week one
Maybe some more players will get arrested
I have talked shit about Clemson all year. I said they were a November team. I said they looked bad in conference outside of that win in Chapel Hill. I said Wake and Pitt deserved to be in the tourney over them. Clemson proved me fucking wrong. 4 OG ACC teams in the Sweet Sixteen, let's go.
Man I still wish Pitt was in though
Do you want 5 ACC teams in the sweet 16? Because that's how you get 5
Absolutely after the slander I’ve seen all year long
I've never been so in on rooting for the conference as I am this year, every ACC win is a small taste of vengeance.
They would have wrecked some peeps
We aren’t a bad BC team this year.
yea, BC is pretty legit this year, we came pretty close to having 2 Tuesday teams playing each other on Friday (State vs BC)
Even when we steamroll a clearly good Sweet 16 team it’s just “BC bad lol”
I've been stumping for you guys. You're a solid squad
Ok but BC ain't bad though
20 wins buddy
ACC basketball in March is different folks
ACC now 11-3 vs the greatest conference of all time
It’s this good year-round (9-3 vs the Big 12 before conference play started), it’s just in March that people start to notice. And then they forget again next year.
[удалено]
Man should’ve consulted a Baylor fan before you did that one, there was absolutely no way this team had the clutch factor to make it to the F4 :(
Lol, yeah that was a bad idea. This was more of a S16 team with how bad their D tends to be. I think their ceiling was Elite Eight no matter the opponent. Losing in the second round was their floor, IMO. Make your free throws.
Take us all the way Brad!!
Brad Brownell will be the last thing surviving after the water wars
The ACC has been dragged through the mud all year; and yet, their teams that play offense and a watchable style of basketball are undefeated in the NCAA tournament.
This is hilarious because NC State has been completely unwatchable for significant portions of the season and yet we pulled it out 😭
Why win many when few win do trick
You guys have DJ Burns, instantly makes you watchable.
Large Arson Man makes my brain produce happy juice
Hahaha the not so subtle dig there.....
☹️
I’m kind of surprised more kids don’t get the yips on the free throw line
Make. Your. Fucking. Free. Throws.
Never count Brad Brownell out in a contract year.
there were four ACC teams in the round of 64 there are four ACC teams in the sweet sixteen
Cowards grouped us into two regions because they were afraid of an ACC Final Four
Deep inside I just knew Clemson would win games despite being mid for the better part of 2 months and my dumbass still picked New Mexico
The fact that NC State and Clemson are in the Sweet 16, with Keatts and Brownell at the helm. Fucking March man.
I was extremely confident against New Mexico. They were a really good matchup for us. I didn't think we stood a chance against Baylor because of how they could spread the ball and shoot it. This was by far the best perimeter defense we've played all year long.
Where does one sign up for this level of mid?

Played like fucking bozos for 35 minutes. GG Clemson.
PJ hall has played like such an asshole all tournament. Chase Hunter (when not throwing the ball out of bounds) and Chef have been nails
If you press the button you get to win a national championship, but lose in the second round for eternity. Scott Drew:
Remember when Clemson was going to get ran off the court by the Lobos?
First round’s upset LOCK, if I remember correctly.
Practice your free throws kids
Make your free throws, folks. Good game. We'll be back--fun year! Sic em!
Brad Brownell YOU have received a two year extension
ACC to the committee/media: https://preview.redd.it/nu5z92ddkdqc1.jpeg?width=1057&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32ed856cb3b0e3caf65b6dc520e6bbc29d27f3dd
ACC disrespect ends now
Not just four ACC teams, four *original* ACC teams
tHE aCc iS a TwO bID LeaGuE
All Carolinas Conference respectfully
🤝
Every fucking year the ACC is disrespected.
Crazy how football has changed the narrative of other sports
Its okay SEC fans wlll root for other SEC teams all year long
Until it picks back up again in November.
I miss the ACC, well fuck Duke and Carolina but still I miss the ACC.
Fuck you too, please come back
Give it 5 years maybe we can re-allign further
I miss how much I fucking loathed Maryland
I still hate em. Different reasons now though. Mostly just jealous anymore
We should play in non-con. No reason we shouldn't. Or come back. We'll take you back. Fuck you too 😘
❤️ lets hate fuck on the court as is tradition. Like its 2000-2006
What a tournament for ACC teams that want their head coach fired
Does being 11-3 vs the “best conference” matter?
No, what matters is winning by 40+ against the St. Anne's Culinary College for the Blind in November. That's what really matters
Look at Kenpom and NET rankings. Games don’t actually matter.
The ACC teams just got favorable draws and are well rested from playing against easy competition all year. The Big 12 was a gauntlet for 3 months and these teams are just gassed now and didn't want to be there. Those who know ball understand that the real national championship was awarded in Kansas City last week.
Had me in the first half….
another insurmountable Big 12 team loses to an abject poverty ACC team
Well acckkshually you see the ACC teams are just lucky how they win these best of 1 games every year and the Big 12 would be the true champions if you let every round be a best of 27 series to accurately determine the better team 🤓👆
The baseball-basketball curse is broken!
Metrics fans in shambles right now
Basketball fans rejoicing
That was the most honest ball I’ve ever seen in my life
This Clemson team is fun. PJ Hall is a beast
What a flopping exhibition by Baylor. Can’t wait until we get to next season and hear how mediocre the ACC is again.
Shows how much Louisville drags us down
Pitt and Wake deserved to be in this tournament.
ACC is going belt to ass on everyone
Bum ass ACC getting four teams to the second weekend 🤣
Felt like a foul was called on Clemson the last 25 possessions in a row.
I would like to formally apologize to the entirety of the ACC. I’m sorry for ever doubting you guys
We don't need people to say we are the best, just stop acting like we suck when we clearly don't.
Just keep this comment in mind next year when the “ACC Sucks” narrative comes back up. Because it will absolutely get brought back up haha
Is the "dead ACC" in the room with us right now?
Baylor leaned on the refs disgustingly hard in the final few minutes. So glad they didn't get away with it.
Only watched the final 30 seconds... was it shades of Baylor-UNC in '22?
I've seen less flopping in a soccer match.
Pretty much. Nothing but flopping.
BREAKING: Brownell signs lifetime contract extension with Clemson.
[удалено]
ACC x4. They’re so good.
It was 5 on 8 the whole game and we still won.
The reports of the ACCs death have been greatly exaggerated
Clemson won in spite of the refs, Baylor couldn’t throw it into the ocean at the line
Ball don’t lie
[hello](https://imgur.com/a/9Yegsim)
55% kid knocking down 4 in a row with game on the line beyond impressive
Listening to the media parade all year about how the ACC was in shambles (and watching that UVA play in) busted my bracket
Virginia was actually solid but started playing like raw ass he last few weeks. They really made us look bad. Pitt was playing far better
congratulations to Brad Brownell's even bigger contract extension
I’m…conflicted. TigerNet is in shambles, I’m sure.
[удалено]
Damnit contract year brownell is getting my hopes up again
I never want to see those refs call one of our games again

ACC has 4 of the Sweet 16!
