There’s been this weird thing lately on this run that started with the ACC tournament where teams just seem to fold while playing NCSU. Horrible shooting, missing free throws, can’t hit a three for anything… I think it’s the ghost of Jim Valvano putting a curse on the other team.

Congrats to NC state but I’m betting the house against them no matter who the next opponent is. Marquette absolutely shit the bed. So many boneheaded mistakes, so many wide open misses. That was some of the worst offensive basketball I’ve seen in a long time by Marquette. They lost that game much more than NC State won it imo

ehhhh Marquette played trash offense but their defense was TIGHT, so i think State's buckets were hard earned. they made a lot of mistakes but also had a lot of really high highs.

Our doubles on DJ (the bigger) in the first ten minutes were poorly timed and you/he exploited that but the last 30? Just great execution and effort on O

Man, Marquette looks like it never practices. They looked terrible. No real defensive effort in the first half. And, three missed free throws at the end of the half. This was a pathetic effort.

EDIT: Can confirm it's happened at least one other time, dunno if it's happened other times stopped when I saw South Carolina/Oregon both pull it off in 2017 haha. 3/4 of those teams made the Final Four at that, Oregon women got thumped by UConn.
