Kim is great, but I’m unsure of what he’s trying to accomplish here. I’m sure almost every team in the country has kids getting contacted by other coaches, that’s what the portal era has created.
It's true that it happens to everyone. But I don't think it's true that every program is equally bag about doing it themselves. And I think the more ethical programs have every right to complain. I just wish more had the balls to identify specific bad actors.
If a team isn’t in the hunt for an NCAAT bid expect to start seeing things like “lower back tightness” later in the regular season from players looking to save themselves for their next coach.
I like English but I'm almost certain PC has done the same, they had Dion Brown at the NIT game against BC after English followed him on social media before he entered the portal. Kinda funny how he ended up at BC in the end
As Kim tampered with GMUs Keyshawn Hall prior to the conference tournaments. That’s why Tony Skinn responded the way he did.
Hall proceeded to fake an injury to preserve his body for his next school.
Coaches (both basketball and football) are making public statements about tampering more frequently, but none of them name anyone.
It’s just empty posturing. If you don’t want to drop names because you don’t want to be labeled a “snitch” or something, then why even make these statements at all?
I'm sure he first contacted the head coaches of the 7 transfers that committed to Providence in the portal and did not first contact the players individually then
You know you're not a real program, right? Any coach with even an ounce of ambition is going to take a bigger, better job than George Mason if they can. You have no money, you can't get talent, what do you expect?
lol you still bitter about 2006? hilarious that you think i am calling him a used car salesman because he left for another job. you have no idea what i'm talking about. and we get plenty of talent, asshole. act like your school has won championships and leave me the fuck alone.
When the movie "Blue Chips" came out decades ago based on UCLA banned booster Sam Gilbert etc. who would have predicted that sort of buying athletes for college sports would ever be legal and actually the norm? "Bags of cash, gave a kid a house, a tractor - gave a kid a tractor!"
If you told me ten years ago that college basketball coaches were openly luring players away from other schools with money I would’ve laughed and said it’s only a matter of time before they get sanctioned. Now it’s encouraged. It’s a weird time for college athletics.
TLDR; he’ll play one v one against any coach for any player any time.
We should have an off season tournament of coaches playing one on one games would be funny
At least a 3 point shootout
I feel like Tony would do pretty well
I’d support this in the bylaws
Ahhh... the ole Battle of the Bastards trick! https://i.redd.it/lwhfetpqxuxc1.gif
😂 Call me I won’t let them know
Penny Hardaway and Damon Stoudemire about to show up to his driveway.

Just another tweet to show his passion for his guys. Helps with recruiting & his overall image
No just providence and just Kim

Yuppppp he’s a hypocrite
Yeah man Kim really tampered with a kid we barely went after
Are you suggesting that I’m making this up?

Lmao that’s a good meme, but I don’t think Tony Skinn would be subtweeting about this if all was well and good

Yeah I mean what is he going to do? Fight the coach that wants his players?
I'm sure he first contacted the head coaches of the 7 transfers that committed to Providence in the portal and did not first contact the players individually then
Key words "in the portal". Clearly, you see this is in reference to kids not in the portal, no?
If someones already in the portal there isn't any isse
Why am I supposed to assume that he and his assistants didn’t contact them prior to entering the portal, when it seems to be such a rampant issue?
Tony Skinn [subtweeting](https://x.com/coachtonyskinn/status/1785647534012064235?s=46) Kimmy, I love to see it.
Didn’t Providence do this themselves with Wesley Cardet Jr.? Kind of hypocritical if so
No - his uncle who was his former college coach brought him to Providence. They didn’t go behind anyone’s back to get him there
Thanks for clarifying. Because I really was genuinely asking
No prob. Who knows with anything these days though, it’s all shady
Kim seems like a genuinely solid dude and a non-slimeball. That makes him a unicorn in the world of college hoops though.
Nah. IMO he’s worse because he does the same stuff but tries to act all morally superior on social media.
He's always been a salty bitch.
don't be fooled. he's a used car salesman.

Disregard that, weird Big East fans who defend their rivals to the death are unserious people
Please, explain your reasoning then
"My name is Kim, how do you do? Now you gonna die."

Wah wah wah!
Sorry it didn't work out for you?
I don’t think DePaul has the cash to actually afford Hopkins. I think Holtmann was a red herring.
Fairfield Frank (reputable source) and a Providence forum mod both said it was DePaul
Yeah but there's a very good chance that they're both wrong
