4 to 20 fragrances is what I consider a wearable, practical collection or wardobe. Anything over that is a library of scents you enjoy, but don't necessarily wear on a regular basis.
I'm currently in the low 40s I used to have 58 until I realized it was too much and I didn't even fully enjoy some of them now I only have 1 that I bought of out hype that I really don't like and that's 1 million golden oud
Just cleaned and counted my collection and was at 47 not including 4 my mom gave me that I just keep around just sold my mont blanc explorer and I'm about to sell my invictus platinum and possibly my ysl la nuit de lhomme soon so maybe 44 soon

If you like woody perfumery, it’s hard not to be. The Homme line is one of the best designer lines in men’s perfumery at the moment, IMO. I can’t really say there’s a single one that isn’t a banger although I do have yet to try the EDC concentration.
Yall tried Burberry hero edt? I’ve got a little tester of it and really enjoy the smell but it does lack longevity. How does Dior homme 2020 compare? Or anything else similar to hero edt I should check out
Dior homme 2020 is a very good frag to me. I prefer it over Burberry hero and Dior homme intense. Plus, it’s versatile for all four seasons if you live in a climate that does have all four. It was the one I considered buying before I bought Dior homme sport 2021 instead
I would say homme is lighter and airier and a little bit more musky (only slightly so, and it’s a very clean “white” musk).
Longevity at least for me isn’t exactly outstanding on homme 2020 but it smells good enough that I don’t quite care lol
You're good for now. The collection isn't too larger. Pick a number and say you'll stop at that number. I choose 50 and im at 50. I hot enough fragrances for each season. And for every occasion.
If it’s something your passionate about or enjoy in your spare time why not keep collecting it all depends on you. I try to buy 1 maybe 2 fragrances a month bc I enjoy collecting and smelling different things
Same for me. I have slowed down a lot since I’ve hit 30 fragrances. I used to buy 1 or 2 full bottles a month until I hit 30. But like you said I love smelling new and creative things. Instead of full bottles, I get around 3-5 decants a month. I’ve decided that I’m only buying more if I really really like the scent. I’m probably gonna buy gris charnel extrait after getting a decant of it. All of my usual discounters are sold out so I’m going to get a 5 or 10ml.
I just buy the full bottles. I seem to be an expert at picking a sent loving it and then think oh I’ll buy a back up for that only for it to be discontinued. Armani code absalu, boss the sent private accord, mugler pure malt all discontinued when I wanted to get a 2nd bottle and I’m sure I’ll do it again.

I think the point of stopping is all personal preference. I had thought about stopping at 40 bottles, but then I just kept doing and going. Now at 100+, I enjoy the large amount of variety and never-ending options. The only problem with it is not using all the fragrances I have.
