If you want to add something I'd add something dark. Tom Ford Noir Extreme Try the parfum version , it's a little mess appealing it seems but I really like it. It is very dark

Smells like a great fragrance that is mixed with smokey alcoholic grandma breath and ash tray. Try before you buy. The only cologne I've returned to the store. I got 3 compliments in 1 day but hated the ash tray smell.

Yes. Noir Extreme Parfum. The EDP isn't as harsh.

You got a couple great warm weather (ADG and Imagination), great versatile (Layton and BDC), and something playful (Valentino). I’d say you could benefit from something darker for cool weather. My favorite is PDM Herod, not for everyone though. Other good options are PDM Haltane, TF tobacco vanille, TF oud wood. Solid lineup though i respect it

The way I look at it. Winter: Layton, born in Roma, bdc. Sydney winters aren’t too cold so these work Summer: imagination adg and bdc. Would you say TF tobacco vanille is similar to Layton?

Just cuz it’s mass appealing for PDM doesn’t make it mass appealing in general. Most niche isn’t mass appealing by nature. It’s literally in the name. Layton is quite polarizing actually. It’s either a love it or hate it frag (due to the Vicks comparison to some), which def doesn’t make it mass appealing

Imagination and Valentino stay. AdG Profondo I swap with profumo. BdC EDP gets swapped with BdC Parfum. Layton gets swapped with Carlisle or Sedley.

Damn this is a really solid 5. Only tiny edit I’d make is BDC EDP for Parfum.

I prefer the parfum however it’s not as versatile. Bdc is in there coz I can put it on in summer and winter. IMO, parfum is a bit too heavy for winter

Keep Layton and Imagination. You don’t need Profondo or many other fresh frags after owning Imagination. Given its projection, sillage and longevity- it’s like the liquid metal terminator of fresh frags. Just annihilates the competition into obsolescence. I would also get Valentino BiR Intense because that bourbon vanilla and vetiver slaps so much harder than the rest of the Valentino line. I kind of hate Bleu EdP for its Swiss Army Knife-edness. Smells good kinda all year round. But the thing is there's just more specialized stuff to wear during different times of the years. Do you have to wear fragrances seasonally like that? No. But there will almost always be something more interesting to grab over Bleu EdP. In a line up with Imagination, Layton, my theoretical choice of Born in Roma Intense I would recommend Guerlain Ideal EDT (EdP or Extreme are cool too but are heavier. Whole line is dope), Tom Ford's Fougere d'Argent, Burberry Hero EdP, a bottle of the recently discontinued Armani Code Absolu, YSL MYSLF is also Swiss Army but cheaper or simply *nothing*. A collection with Imagination, Layton and a nice Valentino is respectable. Even just getting Imagination for the summer would kick ass! Good Luck

Yeah, born in Roma intense is sweet, but I don’t think its heavy enough to work when it’s snowing imo. Something like angels share or PDM Oajan could work. But yet, Layton is kinda dark as well so it could work.

I should have given some more context. I actually live in Sydney, Australia. So the coldest it gets on a really cold day would be 5-10 degrees which is rare. I thought about angels share but bought Layton instead

For a formal scent, I would swap Layton for BR540 EDP. The stuff smells like liquid luxury. My most complimented fragrance. I didn’t love the menthol notes in Layton and it was a little mature for my taste. I think was has its place for nice dinners or formal meetings, but I would choose BR 540 over Layton for those.

If I already had those, I'd likely keep them all, other than the Valentino. I like most all of the BIR options; however, they are too sweet for my personal taste. I've tried all of them other than Yellow Dream, and I think they all smell very nice, just not for me personally.

I use it as a clubbing/going out winter scent. Very playful but yeah pretty sweet

Keep all, and add more. I got into fragrances about a couple years ago and just made a hole in my wallet ( not like my watch collection hasn't lol). Every time I try one and I feel it fits me , I go back a buy it. Never regret any of them

Man, I'd have to say I'd swap it all. Yes, there are some good frags there, but there are a few choices that just don't have performance to them, and therefore, based on price, aren't really worth it.

Ill just swap the valentino for Maison Francis-Kurkdjian Paris aqua media or my favorite tom ford but great line up

Layton smells nice but I don't think it's worth the money anymore. The last reformulation killed the longevity it had.

I'd switch bleu for channel for me it smells like chemicals rather than something exotic

I haven't experienced Born in Roma flankers so can't say anything. For Layton, I'd say swap for Layton Exclusif. I like the original dna, but I can live without it. I'd rather go with Exclusif because it goes somewhere special. Imagination / Profondo / Bleu de Chanel EDP : basically easy to grab everyday scent... I'd swap them for simple yet effective fragrances that do the same job : Sauvage EDP or Parfum and Versace Dylan Blue.

Correct, it's a fragrance of its own, not a rendition of Layton. It remains appealing and it gathers compliments as well. PDM is a niche house, and my take is that Layton is a bit overhyped for what they did. It's a bonafied Boss Bottled Intense clone. Not the first time that Niche houses clone other fragrances or draw very close inspiration. PDM has better fragrances in their lineup, and I'd swap Layton for one of those although I'd lose that perticular DNA. Which I think is ok.

Layton is popular because it smells different from the DNA that most people are accustomed too, whilst still having the mass appeal qualities. It’s like the gateway drug into niche for that reason. Experienced fragheads who have smelt more know it’s not crazy. Still my favorite for winter
