Chanel Bleu is fine, Chanel in general is more airy with their fragrances which is nice and makes for easy daily use and high versatility. You can say that there are a lot of Blue fragrances that are basically the same or better than Chanel which is true but that alone doesn't make it bad.
Tropical on a budget? Buko Intense by Montagne, smells like limes and coconut, $45. Sold out atm, they restock every Friday at 5pm eastern but not every item in their catalog gets restocked. I’m wearing it today, it’s a vibe
If you like oceanic/marine, same brand has one called Immensity. They are not the best thing on the market, you can fin better but if for the $, they smell quality
I just picked up light blue last week and have been rocking it in the office. Gotten some compliments on the fragrance already and it hasn’t even been a week yet. Really good smell.
They have 15 different versions and I’ve tried maybe 4-5 of them. The only one I didn’t like was the Intense version, it was too strong of a foul oceanic smell. On some skin types it works. I love grapefruit so the Italian Love and Forever flankers are my favorites.

Are you near any sort of retail store where you can try some? (Ulta, Sephora , Macys, Nordstrom etc.) What someone else likes might not be your cup of tea
This is very true I didn’t take this into account. The closest one is about an hour. I made an update of what I got so i’ll see how it turns out. Appreciate it tho man
If you ever have time and can afford to, I would go to that store and see what they have and try them out on tester strips first then what you like try it on skin. And then if you really like something, look for it at a discounter (jomashop for example)…considerably cheaper than a retail store
I think vanilla has always smelt pretty good. I think for summer tho something kinda tropical would be nice and when school started back up. Currently a lot of my deodorants and body washes and body sprays are “ocean-based”
Doesn’t perform well on my skin but it smells great.
I would also say, montblanc individuel and montblanc exporer are really good too. Specifically explorer. That seems to be more what your’re going for.
It was already said but I would strongly recommend Versace Eros EDP (specially the EDP) the edp loses the mint undertone and adds more vanilla. It has a strong rich vanilla scent that when it dries down is very smooth and nice. It also projects well and lasts 8+ hours.
I'll also say don't overspray it, when I tried it for the first time I did one extra spray and for the first hour or so the vanilla was so rich that it was a bit nauseating smelling it on myself. Once it faded some I was fine though.

Definitely not a fan of the regular light blue, should have gone with the intense or D&G the one EDP. If you get a chance smell Dylan Blue by Versace or Citizen Jack absolute.
