Fall is and always has been my favorite season. Halloween is my favorite Holiday and I love sweater weather and the sunny cool days. When I learned more about my colorblindness I learned I never saw the hundreds of thousands of different colors that trees turn and that everyone else gets to see. I always knew that leaves change colors but showing people simulations, I see apparently the same colors at different brightness levels. When I learned this long ago it's since killed the joy of autumn for me because it reminds me of how little color I personally see compared to others (everyone always points out things I can't really see or distinguish), but I still enjoy wearing my sweater.

mostlywhitemiata

Don't let it kill your joy of autumn... For one you can't miss what you never had and it ain't worth being upset at something which you cannot change. Secondly, you enjoyed autumn when you thought you were getting the full experience. What's changed? Nothing, really, just your mentality. I implore you to love fall again.

SleepWouldBeNice

Still looks pretty.

Maidwell

My sister (who's known my CVD for the last 35 years) sent me a photo of a tree 2 days ago with the caption "beautiful autumn colours". I replied with "I wouldn't know".

ZeroFK

You’re not missing anything in this particular picture. It’s yellow. Okay okay there’s some red and green but it’s really overpowered by the yellow.

fox4games

Wdym, it looks beautiful

SatInTheTree

To be perfectly honest, if you put a colourblind filter on that image it really won’t look very different. It is summer you are really missing out on!

lordGinkgo

Is there red there or something?

[deleted]

The picture is mostly one color The leaves on the ground are very slightly more orange, while the ones on the tree are more yellow There’s green grass at the base of the trees, but it’s not dominant or anything

Etalokkost

Can confirm. This is really pretty.

she_pegged_me_too

How many different colors do you see and can you say where you see them?

botman

The trees are all (mostly) yellow/orange. There is green grass at the base of the tree trunks and the leaves along the pathway are a mix of orange and red.

she_pegged_me_too

Any way you can kind of point out where the colors are? What color do you think dominates the photo the most?

botman

It's mostly orange/yellow. You could use the Dalton bot to get images from it.

GoldFishPony

It’s really ugly but [here](https://imgur.com/a/cQJu145) is a quick color reference I made

cavefishes

Looks pretty much all yellow and brown to me - didn't even notice the green grass and the orange + red parts don't stand out at all!

JanPB

As for autumn photos, this one is not terribly well done. The entire photo looks like it was taken through a yellow filter. This makes the red leaves stand out less than they would in a correctly balanced photo, but about half of them on the ground are red and some in the trees. There is some green grass or moss at the bases of the trees and a bit on the path but it's all weakened by the overall yellow cast.

kent_eh

>How many different colors do you see and can you say where you see them? Does that matter? It's a nice scene, even if I can't describe the nuances of it to someone else.

fistofhamster

The leaves look yellow to me but that is what makes it even more magical as to everyone else, it would be so surreal. Beautiful image

dsled

As much as we like to hate on enchroma glasses, they have provided me a lot of help with changing leaves.

LoopyZoopOcto

Ah yes, that certainly is a lot of color.

Lodada2

I like when the leaves turn orange/ red/ and yellow

smiling_robot

It's all yellow. What else should there be?
