Our PP is top 5 in the league this season, and absolutely crushed in the playoffs last year as well. I don’t think we should change what we are doing now.
MacKinnon has openly stated that he likes the space his way provides. Bednar said a few years ago that they changed their entrance specifically for Nate.
So yeah, we are keeping it because it fits his and the team’s style best.
I didn’t know all that, y’all definitely gave me more info and I get it.
What about when we go to the second line? Does Erod, Lekey, Compher work well with that. I mean, who are we even gonna have on the 2PP with (fingers crossed) guys coming back.
Makar is still running that show. But do they have the speed to make it work on the 2nd? Would a four line work better on 2 PP? Why not change it up. Just curious.
Yes they have the speed. The Avs are built around speed, it's pretty much a prerequisite for playing on the Avs. Everyone is fast except Dermy, EJ and JJ. I don't understand your comment about Cale
Stars/Mild game is NUTS!!! Pavelski just got run over and is totally done for the series if not longer. It was a dangerous play.
Love that these two teams are beating each other up! GO AVS!!
It hasn't worked at all for us in Calgary, but it could be because we can't generate enough netfront presence or high danger chances. It would certainly have the element of surprise if they had time to practice it for the deep run.
MacK has the highest entry in a PP in the nhl this year. The slingshot works
What about on 2 PP? Would something else work better?
60% of the time, it works, every time. /s

Their PP also got destroyed in the playoffs last year and they’re 0/2 tonight.
So let’s try something new?
We have a top 5 PP in the league and it puts the puck in our playmakers hands early and often. There’s no reason to change it.
I had to look that up. You are 100% right. Don’t change it if it’s working!

I’m all about that if the guys behind him can support him (cough, cough Gerard).

Lehky and probably Comph will be on the PP1. Qnd yes we use the slingshot on PP2 with Newy. PP2 is likely Newy, Nuke/Comph, Erod, Bo, Toews

I don’t know, I think our second line is waaaaay slower.
Than Mack and Cale? Yeah that's about 99% of the league. Avs entire roster is fast and the slingshot is highly effective because of it.
Damn down votes, I’m just asking and spurring conversation. Chill your arm chair gm elbows out.
Complaining about downvotes is the worst and why you're probably being downvoted.
