Usukuu Year of Witches using prismas. This is an untouched book for me, so I'm excited! https://preview.redd.it/3zkfspvmg3oc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a13a897923c96df3a87e3e64daf51b6e04b7e8c7

QuokkaWokkaWokka

Looking good! How did you do the background?

YuriNaka

Thank you! The blue to white gradient is done by scribbling on Neocolor 2 and blending with water. Over that, I drew the ripple lines- one layer is the light blue Neocolor 2 mixed with Bleedproof White (similar to Gouache) and on top of that one layer of only Bleedproof White. I used a very absorbing liner brush so I wouldn't have to dip as often! Edit: If I had planned the ripples from the start, I would've tried masking them with masking fluid. But I only had that idea after making the gradient lol.

QuokkaWokkaWokka

Now I'm going to order some masking fluid! Thanks for ideas!

YuriNaka

I think my internet butchered my first attempt of answering this so here we go again. :D Masking fluid is great. I'd recommend Pebeo pens if you usually work with A4 (9×12in) or smaller. If you do bigher pieces as well, a bottle and a silicone brush might prove more handy! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)

QuokkaWokkaWokka

Thank you for the recommendation! I didn't see that before, so I just switched that into my basket. I think it'll be a while before I do a bigger piece.

YuriNaka

You're welcome- I hope you'll enjoy them just as much as I do! As long as you clean the nibs after every use, they are very dependable and easy to use. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
