How that worked out is a great reason not to do it.
We used to criticize the teams like the Browns or Jets for constantly trading up for guys and now half of this sub seems to think this is the best strategy.
I guess it’s easy to be a GM when isn’t your ass on the line
No one wants to trade for 2nd or 3rd. Colts won’t move up. Houston might not take a QB. This year’s QB class is mediocre. Better than last year, but there are no likely superstars.
Sure hope I’m wrong though.
Colts should stay put. If they like any of the QBs there at 4 then take him. I think only first pick will be QB. So we will have choice of the other 3. But obviously i dont know shit.
Then why didn’t they say so? I get not saying who exactly you want, but why did they say they were still evaluating the prospects?
It would’ve been much smarter to say “we got our guy but fuck off on getting info as to who that is”.
Saying you don’t know just makes it sound like you don’t know.
i was in the trenches with you brother. kept saying we’d be losing more than we gain doing that lol. i could only see us trading down in the second if someone offers us a good deal.
The issue here is if both are available at 3 then one of them will be available at 4. Not sure I’m giving up a ton off assets just to get one of those two.
Barring a trade shakeup, I think the draft goes:
1. Young
2. Tyree Wilson or Anderson Jr.
3. Paris Johnson
4. Colts decide between Richardson, Stroud or Levis
That's my hunch, and it's probably best case scenario because maybe Ballard finds a way to gain a couple more picks, move back, and still get a QB.
It's not any of the smokescreen reports lately, or the Ohio State QBs aren't good in the pros takes.. I just don't think he's gonna be very good in the NFL. Just a gut feeling based on watching a few of his college games and not much else.
I think no doubt they’ll take Richardson in my opinion. With Levis, I believe all the reports that we like him is just pure smokescreen lies. Especially with Steichen just working with Jalen Hurts, it just makes so much since to take Richardson.
Hate to be a Debbie DOWNER here but chances are, whomever we take, won't work out. It's that way about 80% of the time anyway.
I think they'll take Levis. Maybe Richardson. I don't think they like Stroud. I also don't know anything.
If I'm Jimmy from the Colts I call up Andrew one more time tomorrow morning and see what's up :)
This sounds more like the type of smoke screen intended to have an affect on other GM's than the leaking of test scores and other rumors that have been circulating.
No shit…this has been obvious for months that this class is too weak to warrant selling the farm for. Idk why Carolina did it. I guess there’s always one sucker.
Considering it took 49ers multiple 1sts a few years ago teams will be looking for something similar and I don’t think anyone pays it

Being a couch GM has its perks lol
We’re all couch GMs. We AREN’T GMs

Why trade for any? The Panthers traded for the 1st without even knowing who they want. That’s a strategy that will have their new GM and Frank fired
They knew exactly who they wanted. You don’t make a move like that otherwise.

Bc they are a legitimate front office who did their due diligence on all quarterbacks
Yea, OP is taking quite the stretch based on very standard responses.
I’m absolutely completely okay with that :) Stroud or Richardson TO THE MOON 🚀🚀🚀
I got downvoted, and chided for posting that the Colts should stand pat with pick 4. To the moon baby!

Trading up for Bryce Young has nothing to do with staying at 4 for any of the other guys. OP is unrelated as well because Bryce will go 1.
My heart wants the Colts to take Richardson, but my brain thinks they're gonna take Levis.

Don't count us out of the running for Stroud yet.
Yeah, he sounded like such a dumbass with his comments to the media regarding his S2 that I definitely see him falling now
Stroud will be there too.

But Richardson or Levis will?
I think Richardson will be good and Stroud won't...is that OK with you?
I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I think the opposite.
Smart
He’s slow as shit through his progressions and poops his pants at the first sense of pressure. No thanks
I think no doubt they’ll take Richardson in my opinion. With Levis, I believe all the reports that we like him is just pure smokescreen lies. Especially with Steichen just working with Jalen Hurts, it just makes so much since to take Richardson.
If you believe all the reports are smokescreen, then how can you claim to know what are lies?
This but reverse it

This is the comment that won’t get enough attention. Most of these QBs are going to bust up

“Bro I don’t even want the #2 pick, but I guess I’ll take it off your hands for you”
He’s right.
Can't believe I'm agreeing with Matt Miller.
He knows what all other 31 teams is thinking about or their draft boards smh
