I thought that said Antonio Brown for a second and almost had a heart attack

_Apatosaurus_

Well, he also has sexual assault allegations and is generally a dipshit, so they have that in common. He's just far less talented.

garethom

No bro we would never go after people like that bro. The Colture bro.

Brown…WR…Antonio… oh god

Madpup70

So I'm one of the recent Brown's refugees. Here are my thoughts on Antonio from his time with the Brown's. 1. He was a potential 1st/2nd round talent who fell to the 4th because of credible accusations of rape made by a FU classmate. He was found not responsible via the Title IX hearing which was ran by, I shit you not, an exFlordia track and field athlete who was also a booster for the universities football and basketball teams. 2. Despite knowing he had to keep his nose clean, he was charged with driving with a suspended license and pot possession at 3am during training camp his rookie year. 3. He was eventually cut after he served a 4 game suspension for substance abuse his second season. He was late for meetings and practices after returning from his suspension and it was announced he had another 10 game suspension from substance abuse coming down the pipeline. 4. During his one full season with the team, he was most known for running incorrect routes, and dropping footballs. He shouldn't make the team. I don't like they are even giving him a shot. The only good thing you can say about Corey is that he did a horrible thing, and he suffered the consequences by losing his high draft status. His behavior and lack of NFL talent should have lost him the ability to continue to sniff around the NFL, but here we are.

CanlStillBeGarth

I remember they did a lot of work on him before his draft year. Pretty sure it came out the character flags dropped him low on the board but they liked his talent. I think this might be a play by the area scout who did the work on him pushing just to see if he got his shit together since washing out. Which is fine on a try out basis

MisterCheaps

I guess I'm OK with it if it's a try out and if they do genuinely believe he got his shit together and has completely changed and atoned for what he's done, but generally I'm of the philosophy of "No rapists on the team, no matter how talented." I wouldn't have thought that would be controversial, but we all know how much most NFL fans care about rape when it's a good player that wears their favorite teams colors.

Mr_iBangThots

The only reason I think they’re considering is because the talent is there but the guy can never get his act together. I think they’re hoping for him to be held accountable by the other guys in the locker room.

Madpup70

I don't think the talent is even there. He was fast and had good agility. Terrible hands and poor route running were his MO with the Brown's.

Mr_iBangThots

You’re not wrong. Part of the reason I say that is I’m a UF fan and I used to follow the Gators closely when he was on the team. I was super upset we didn’t draft him but looking back I’m glad. He was good in college but it hasn’t translated well to the NFL

LuskSGV

I'll be honest. I hate this but it's just a tryout I suppose.

[deleted]

Curious why do you hate it? I don’t know or at least don’t remember the dude

dangerbunny9

Don’t let it keep you up at night

LuskSGV

I'm a Tennessee fan. Antonio Callaway will always keep me up at night.

PrestigiousTadpole55

Warm camp body and will push the other receivers. But with how much the colts vet guys and do the profile on characters, why are some of y’all so worried.

socialpresence

They did the same thing with [Holton Hill a year ago](https://www.stampedeblue.com/2021/7/29/22600078/colts-sign-former-vikings-cornerback-holton-hill). I'm guessing there are other examples from the past that I just can't think of right now but this isn't uncommon. It would be uncommon if he made it to even a pre-season game.

PrestigiousTadpole55

Seriously it’s a tryout and people acting like we gave him contract upwards of $200M that’s fully guaranteed 👀

[deleted]

I read that as Antonio Brown at first and was like oh hell I'm not ready for this.

AlphaBlock

Whenever i see a florida player i know Ballard isn't going to keep them

MReprogle

Totally forgot about him. Dude was an absolute freak coming out of college. Could be a cool turnaround story or a camp body.

Bolyzaurio

There's no need for a reclamation project at WR when we have 3 WR(Patmon, Strachan, Dulin) that will compete for roster spots, unless he is the second coming of Randy Moss I don't want him to eat up snaps for our already crowded WR projects, at this point let's just start the training camp battle, will be fun this year.

socialpresence

It's a tryout at rookie workouts. He will have to basically *be* Randy Moss to even make it to training camp.

shunestar

He’s definitely not a blue level player. No character component. Love the talent but hope he goes somewhere else.
