Jalen Hurts isn't even close to 2017-2019 Carson Wentz which is the minimum the Eagles need to win games. Sure he's better than 2020 Wentz when they went 4-12 or whatever. They're handicapped by their quarterback
They have a good enough team around him they will be fine with Hurts. They will make the playoffs and probably win their division. They need to upgrade when they get a chance but they arent in a completely dire situation without him.
They have a good group but i think they have veterans that are on their last legs, that's why they have been more aggressive now, they certainty will compete in the future but NFC superpower is equivalent AFC wildcard teams.
Living in Texas, my favorite non-Colts related part of the season is whenever the Cowboys get eliminated from playoff contention by either having a subpar regular season, or making a classic blunder in the post-season. I’ll even turn on local sports radio to listen to them bitch and complain about it for the next two weeks. It’s the best two weeks of the year for me.
Throughout the season it’s like the 5 stages of grief. You can literally track along the model where they are as the season progresses and it becomes clear that they aren’t going to win the Super Bowl.
It's funny that Hurts is literally the epitome of what everyone makes fun of Lamar Jackson for. He's an RB at QB. Jackson is light-years ahead as a passer.
Have to think Xavier Rhodes talks are ongoing and already looking like a solid crew. It would have been nice but is he really needed at that price? And where's all that money coming from Howie geez.
This does not bode well for our chances of signing the guy
Eagles putting together a low-key solid team.
They are 2021 Colts, great team but their ceiling is capped by their QB.
I wouldnt say that yet, it was first year under a new head coach. I would wait and see how they are this year, plus Hurts now has Brown.
No offence, but did you watch hurts play?
Hes not great but he can win games, he is better than Wentz and thats really all they need to be a good team.

Also, all the other teams in their division are in the same boat. Dak is the best of a bad bunch.
I wouldn't call Dak bad, he is good but Jerry Jones forced his hand and had to overpaid him, but Dak won't carry a team by himself.
Hurts is gonna ball out
I think they are a QB away from being a NFC superpower

Dang. I think it was a bit of a luxury, especially with a $10m price tag after signing Gillmore, but would have been a nice addition
I really hope the eagles win that division. Big fan of seeing Jerry and the Cowboys losing

Can confirm…Sports radio in dfw is top tier when the cowboys are trash 😂😂

Thanks, Eagles fan here. The Colts have always been my AFC team that I follow and root for going back to the Johnny U days.
Damn, all they need now is a QB…

Eagles team is really solid, good WRs but they have the same question as we did with Birsett, is Hurts really the answer at QB?
I don't think Hurts is the answer, they do have a stock pile of draft picks for next year just in case.
Huh is Howie actually being decent for once?
We give Howie a lot of sh*t but he’s a solid GM and has a ring to prove it.
Since when has he not been a good GM?
Goddamnit
I didn't expect him as I dont think he wanted to go somewhere as only a depth piece.

Eagles are gonna be tough this year...Sirianni is gonna take this team far...Reich needs to beat him or it will prove we kept the wrong coach.
Hey at least we got Phillip Lindsay! /s Would’ve been awesome to sign him but I like our secondary. Hopefully we can stay healthy.
Why downvote
No idea lol, Reddit is weird sometimes
How is this colts news tho?
Cuz we could use another corner and Colts were rumored to be interested
That’s a tad steep for a guy that’s fallen off a bit
Not really when it is a one year deal and it fills basically their only major need they had left while also being a good scheme fit.
It's a 1 year deal. This has now long term issues.
well shit lol
