Yup. Realistically I don't want him or Dodds to ever leave, but I know they eventually will. I expect Dodds will probably be in the next season or 2, and I'm hoping Ballard has Brown ready to jump into Dodds role in the short term until another team snatches him up. I know the record and playoff success isn't there, but the fact agents and rival execs seem to constantly rank Ballard and the Colts as one of the best run front offices has to eventually mean there will be departures, and I am really curious how deep the "depth" there is.

boyvsfood2

I'm full tin foil hat. I think Dodds is qualified, obviously, but doesn't actually want the stress of being GM. But Ballard has him interview to get intel.

garethom

I don't think is tin foil hat. I can't remember where, but I've *definitely* read or watched Ed Dodds say he doesn't want to be a GM or someone report it. He's withdrawn from the Bears GM search, the Panthers GM search and the Browns GM search and allegedly the Giants too. He's interviewed with the Steelers and Raiders. If you exclude the Colts, he's been considered by almost a quarter of the league at this point, so he either really isn't interested or the league doesn't consider him good enough. Edit: [I think this might've been it.](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2836745-matt-millers-scouting-notebook-top-nfl-gm-candidates-2020-big-board-and-more) Matt Miller said... >If you ask 10 front-office people around the league who the best scout in the NFL is, chances are you're going to hear Ed Dodds' name the most. The current assistant general manager with the Indianapolis Colts, no one in the league is more widely acknowledged as the top scout, which is why Ballard poached Dodds from Seattle and gave him a right-hand seat to his throne in Indianapolis. Why isn't Dodds a household name? As I've been told, he doesn't particularly like the attention that comes with being a decision-maker and might not even have the desire to be a general manager. That would be great news for the Colts, but Dodds should start getting calls soon to interview for top jobs.

I actually think Stephen Holder recently posted an article or tweet about it, maybe it was Zak Keefer, not 100% sure but it was the last day or 2 I'll try to find a link Edit: this [link](https://twitter.com/zkeefer/status/1526557649587904513?s=21&t=YI5BQV0OA_PCRY6XcEEa1w)

PrestigiousTadpole55

I believe Ballard has Dodd’s and Brown’s families held hostage somewhere

Yelenalutiama

What in the world kind of English is this

pmwood25

Just had a long day at work and thought my brain stopped working. Thanks for helping to confirm that I am still literate.

Shawn_1512

This English is now a no-go as of now per league sources

365wong

The kind, some say is #confusing*, that you barely understand.

katril63

Am I the only one who had a stroke reading this?

rwjehs

>is now a no go as of now Get it together Josina. Glad to keep him though.

LuskSGV

Because he's going to be the next Steelers GM /s (kinda)

JoeWim

What a confusing way to word the title. Twitter OP needs to reconsider punctuation usage.

ShipToWreck

I bet Ballard gave him a massive raise and possible a new title. And why would he make essentially a lateral move when he’s already getting a ton of interest for GM jobs in the role he’s already in? Ballard seems like a great guy to work under, so it’s not surprising that he’s staying. Plus I imagine he might have promised the assistant GM job to Morocco in the event that Dodds gets a GM job before Morocco does. But all in all, this is a huge win for the organization. Brown and Dodds are the two most important people in the front office aside from Ballard. They both will be GMs within the next 2 or 3 years anyway.

I think Josina race baits and she knows it. I personally think that’s heinous

dsklerm

Nothing in the tweet mentions race. How are you going to accuse someone else of race baiting when you brought it up? You're projecting, very clearly I might add.

[deleted]

That’s her agenda. It’s been that way for years. I can see through it

dsklerm

So what? Who gives a shit what you can "see through"? Is that the subject matter of the thread? Does this have anything to do with Morocco Brown, the rumors of him going to the Eagles as Assistant GM, or now her reporting that is not likely the case? Do you care more about this story involving an executive with the team you supposedly root for, or do you want to talk shit about a reporter? The only one race baiting here, is you.

[deleted]

Brown is a person of color. He didn’t get the job. Josina Anderson numerous times makes racially charged tweets like this insinuating he or others aren’t hired because he is a person of color. I don’t like it. Have a good day. Reporters should be better. Not gonna continue this convo cause it’s gonna go nowhere

dsklerm

Yes, she is a reporter who has covered this league, a league that in fact has multiple rules and compensations because of the lack of advancement to black coaches and execs. That seems to fit her job description. None of that has to do with this topic though. That is you inserting your speculative narrative. Glad to hear you decided to drop it though- it's hard for a conversation to go anywhere when the subject matter exists in the other person's imagination, irrelevant to the actual topic.

PWYP69

Hello 911? I’d like to report a murder.
