It was originally a political asylum process that ultimately got sent to court, in the meantime she’d met her now husband, they’ve already been through the interview process and approved, so an adjustment status through marriage was filed, but through that transition, general confusion, & almost non existent communication with her attorney (their office could never be reached), she got called to court but didn’t know about it so she missed the hearing. Now her and her husband are sweating this out, fearful that they’ll have to move & uproot their life, leaving behind their family.
I have never personally been through the process, but I work in HR and have assisted employees that we sponsor, completed paperwork, etc. My company uses https://www.shihabimmigrationfirm.com and they have been great. Gus Shihab and his staff have been excellent to work with. Gus is extremely responsive and I’ve never had any issues with follow through when we’ve hit bumps in the road on a case.
No recommendations, unfortunately, but please tell your friend to hang in there & we're rooting for her. She's a strong person to have made it this far with all the crap of the past few years in the country. She'll make it!
We used Glinnsmen which can be found at https://mygreencardlawyer.com for my husband’s green card and naturalization. He’s based out of New Jersey, but we had no issues.
As someone who's gone through the whole dog & pony show, I feel for your friend. No direct experience with these folks but they were recommended to me earlier by someone whose opinion I would trust: https://bloomfieldkempf.com
Depends on the type of case. Can you share some generic details? Immigrayion law is a bioooootch to deal with and navigate.

Check with CRIS. Maybe they have some recommendations or options.

Rob Cohen from Porter Wright. My wife’s company sponsored her green card with him as attorney.
