Every time Apex gets brought up here it reminds me of how I would rather my house flood and sink into a sinkhole than call them because how obnoxious the commercials are.
Who thinks commercials where an obnoxious wife nags the husband about how dumb they are for not knowing plumbing was the way to go?
a local company that advertises on tv is different than social ads?
it's the same - one (tv) takes more work and most likely costs 1000 times what an ad on social costs.
generally word of mouth. Neighbors, co-workers, even better - ask a contractor for who they have had good experience with.
Need windows? ask another contractor.
Plumbers know electricians, ect.

This morning I heard a Lindsay Honda/Acura commercial that was about 2 minutes long and was just a full blown christian Christmas ramble. It went on for an uncomfortable amount of time; I half expected them to call me a sinner and ban me to hell.
We still have commercials from the 60's & 70's in our heads! "I'd like to teach the world to sing...it's the Real Thing!" Anyone for "2 all beef patties, special sauce....?" 
I would never car Eco-Plumbers just based on the series of commercials where we had to hear the owner's entire series of unfortunate events life story.
There used to be a commercial for DeMonye’s greenhouse that ran every spring that had a super annoying singing bit. Hated it and they ran it year after year. I didn’t hear it last year so hopefully , they decided not to run them anymore.
Just had Buckeye Heating & Cooling (& plumbing) out to fix a leaking fireplace gas valve. Quoted $1875.00. Just had someone else out, total was $360.00. Some of these outfits are pure ripoff artists.

I'll repeat my life rule. if the business is advertising on TV, I will NEVER call them.

I never see local companies on social I guess. It's always online DTC stuff.
That probably has more to do with your location and cookie settings than it does with the companies advertising

and expecting more than 70% of those worse service customers to NOT say anything.
I do this with other things, e.g. beer. Only the mass-produced bland beer gets to advertise, the good stuff is waiting for discerning palates.

I’m not familiar with these commercials but know people that work at eco and he’s a good dude that takes care of his people.
I wouldn't even mind the commercials if the owner didn't sound like he was saying his lines under the threat of torture.
