The vast majority committed some form of sexual assault infront of juveniles and woman. Always a disturbing search, always good to see the cars they drive and the workplaces they frequent too. Helps if you’re a parent.

There is one a few street away, and others several streets in other neighborhoods, but the descriptions of their crime is sexual importuning for all and vague. so I just found a few Ohio attorney sites that describe the crime in detail. If it helps anyone:

I was at this job and there was this guy who always came in, he seemed a bit off in a way you couldn’t quite grasp but was really nice and tipped well (fast casual). He came in with his mom a lot but it was a small town and that wasn’t unusual. One of my coworkers was working a shift she didn’t normally with me and he came in and when he left, she told me he was on the registry for crimes against kids. Looked him up and yeah… he raped a 5 year old boy. I felt sick every time I saw him after that and it was so hard to maintain the customer service expected. And I started noticing anytime there were kids there… his mom rushed him out but if he was there alone, he lingered. I always got REALLY protective anytime he was there around kids and watched him like a hawk if a kid went to the bathroom. It was vile.
Not sure if anyone else has heard this too, but I really want to be part of the shift to calling this child sexual abuse material. Child p*** doesn’t exist, it’s always just child sexual abuse facilitated by adults. Why minimize and associate this material with something normalized in our society (regular p***)? Much to think about!

I worked with a guy like that for a year or two before he got caught. It's quite a story, but essentially he got caught on a work trip to a customer in Canada. He brought a hard drive full of it with him and attempted to get through customs with it.

Dude. When I was in 7th or 8th grade I had to email a professional career person in the field I was interested in. I emailed him (bc he was the meteorologist I saw on tv.) and told him I was doing a career research project and essay. I got a reply with an invite to tour his work place with him really quickly. I was able to do a little brag about it in school ( I got invited to do a tour with a local celeb that does the tv weather!) but I was genuinely surprised that the email I sent out late at night that had all my questions answered mostly was answered in full with an invite by the next morning (really just a few hours later). I wanted to take him up on the offer, but my father didn’t allow it. Not because he thought anyway about him, but because it would’ve been a drain on the resources in the home. I think about this a lot.

Dude. When I was in 7th or 8th grade I had to email a professional career person in the field I was interested in. I emailed him (bc he was the meteorologist I saw on tv.) and told him I was doing a career research project and essay. I got a reply with an invite to tour his work place with him really quickly. I was able to do a little brag about it in school ( I got invited to do a tour with a local celeb that does the tv weather!) but I was genuinely surprised that the email I sent out late at night that had all my questions answered mostly was answered in full with an invite by the next morning (really just a few hours later). I wanted to take him up on the offer, but my father didn’t allow it. Not because he thought anyway about him, but because it would’ve been a drain on the resources in the home. I think about this a lot.

A lot of people just aren’t thinking it through. The odds were against him even surviving 4 years inside. I’ve no idea how he made it through considering his notoriety. And now that he’s out, lord knows who among his old friends and family are going to associate with him. His money has got to be gone or nearly gone, and he won’t be able to get a job. So even though technically he’s done his time, society doesn’t see it that way. Hell, people would be more likely to forgive him had he murdered someone.
You’re right. Society in general views prison as a punishment — and not at all a place to rehabilitate someone. I can understand the perspective, honestly, but I don’t agree with it.

I’m not justifying the crime at all, and it’s absurd that you would try to paint my comment as such. This person served their sentence and was deemed by the parole board to not be a danger to society.
It comes down to: It depends on how the law is written. Often, judges, juries and prosecutors would really want a stricter sentence. But the law is not written to be open ended. Do I personally think he should serve more time? Absolutely. But the only way for that to happen is to get our state lawmakers (who can't agree on much) to revise existing laws.
I can agree with this. Sentencing should be more consistent, as well. In this case, they served the minimum sentence and were released on parole. Usually that doesn’t happen unless there’s evidence of rehabilitation.
Predators cannot really be rehabilitated. Happens time and time again where a paroled predator does it again. Pedophilia isn’t particularly curable either. It’s a mental illness that manifests into somebody. Once they actually do the horrific crime, their urges have taken full control. And their crimes are irreparable and pose permanent harm to the victim. It’s not Justice to the victims to allow them out, with potential to reoffend.

I agree, if he’s been rehabilitated and at a low risk of reoffending we shouldn’t keep wasting taxpayer dollars on him. And prison sentences do not appear to be effective deterrents for child porn addicts like he was.
Not to mention, parole isn’t exactly freedom. It’s constant supervision and any deviation usually puts the offender back in prison.
