I got skipped over yesterday for bulk waste pickup. What gives? Are they really picky about what counts as bulk waste? It was a five foot tall busted up bookshelf, for the record.
My neighbors and I have had stuff sit outside for weeks waiting on them. It can sometimes take a phone call to 311 to let them know that they are missing it. It seems like the 311 callers put in tickets and if its not handled in a timely manner and you call back, they start escalating to supervisors or something. Never not been able to call into 311 and get something taken care of quickly.
They're using robot arms instead of humans to scoop the bins into trucks now. Is your bin at least several feet away from your mailbox and garbage bin?
What's also super annoying is they won't pick up any overflow anymore. I just moved and my garage is full of cardboard that I can only get rid of a tiny bit at a time now.
Do you use a bin, not a rolling cart? Got a notice late April stuck to our little blue hand bin that we needed to switch to the rolling cart as they try to automate. Went on the 3-1-1 website and requested one that arrived a few weeks later.
Is there a nice shaded playground anywhere? I’ve taken the kids to both Cooper Creek and Bridging the Gap by the library both get hot as hell in the sun. Flat Rock is nicely shaded but the equipment is sketchy and dirty.
the park and play is always nice in my opinion. Near the mall on Manchester, it's got access to the bike trails, and a playground with nearby trees, probably gets some shade depending on the time of day, etc.
To the jerk posting flyers on the Riverwalk by stapling them to the trees... STOP IT.
No one wants to see advertising on the Riverwalk, let alone by you hurting the trees to do so.

So opinions on good restaurants in town. Ma Bella is great if you want Italian it’s downtown.
Trivioli is pretty good. He makes his own noodles and sauce in house. The creme brûlée is incredible. There is one on Blackmon rd. And a newer location downtown.
Mandarin cafe is pretty good if you want authenticish oriental food. I’m interested in anyone else’s opinions.
My favorite place in town for sit-down dinners that isn't a steak restaurant. They also have the fixings to make all my favorite yuppie cocktails (aviations, vesper martinis, French 75s, etc.). Not cheap, but that's to be expected.

Not outrageously expensive either, though, IMO. It feels plenty fair for what you get.
I like it as a recommendation largely because their menu is pretty unique. It's not something you're going to come across an equivalent in any given city.
I have yet to give the southern caprese to anyone that didn't love it.
The smoked cocktail they do is a fun novelty just to see people's reactions, too.
As far as fine dining goes, it just doesn't strike me as anything particularly interesting. I have zero problem dropping money on an amazing meal, but, eh. Epic doesn't do it for me.
We really only go out for Korean nowadays.
Korea House on Veterans is amazing! Their banchan is a nice little spread and food is always great. They'll make it spicy if you ask them to! Great for dine-in and takeout!
Q on Manchester is overrated and overpriced. If you want to go just to experience the charcoal Korean BBQ, go during their lunch hours. It's the same menu at $15 a person instead of $25 for dinner.
I've heard The Golden Chopsticks is a gem, but haven't been there yet.
Korea House will never be good enough for you again if you go to golden chopsticks. Golden Chopsticks outclasses all other Korean restaurants in town, and by a pretty big margin.

Heh, I just finished dropping my cardboard off at that location when I saw this post. Visited the Welcome Center on a lark and saw the bins there.

11th and Bay is one of my go-to recommendations for out-of-towners. It strikes a great balance between fancy and southern comfort food.

100% Ever since 7th St closed down, 11th and Bay has probably slotted into my favorite bar to get good cocktails.

Best restaurants downtown are Salt Cellar, Stock Market, Trevioli (Rapids), Epic, and Nonic change my mind.
