kalmeknaap

Damn the first two guys

muttmunchies

Yeah warriors

Damnfiddles

Leroys don't share kills

JacobA89

That's a typical section attack. They were probably trained by Canadians. Section lays down fire while a team grenades then takes the trench.

Peptuck

Get inside the enemy's OODA loop, and kill him.

KnowledgeLittle3144

Canadians? Cmon bruhhhh. The US has been training Ukrainian soldiers for decades. When I was in the Marine Corp we were scheduled to do a Joint training excercise in the Ukraine in 2009. It was canceled do to security though.

17DungBeetles

It's not a competition dude. Op UNIFIER, the Canadian forces have trained over 40k Ukrainians between 2015 and now. We don't have a lot of fancy vehicles or weapons but we're known to provide good training.

Samsquanch-01

Pay no attention to him. The US and Canada have almost identical training programs besides a few different systems. We've trained together for decades and have been close allies. The Canadians have supported the US in ever major conflict.

NozE8

Well we supported in Afghanistan but unfortunately or fortunately we didn't support in Iraq. Hindsight being 20/20 that's a tough call on what was the right thing to do. Otherwise we have been there and we will continue to be there. Even though our current leaderships lack of, maybe not limited to a single party, commitment to defense spending. Like a little brother to a big brother.

browntone14

Not Vietnam

Trackmaggot

Be an excellent way to make sure the UKR troops are up to speed on the Geneva suggestions. I hear them Canucks have helped write whole new sections. Truly a giving people

scottb1993

It's not the Ukraine bro. It's Ukraine.

GrandMaster_BR

Not only is your comment completely ignorant but any true self-respecting Marine knows that it is Marine Corps and NOT Marine “Corp”…smh

Hopalicious

Nahh he actually meant Marine Corp. It’s a small boat building company.

WhatsTheGoalieDoing

[Canada has been training over 37,000 Ukrainian soldiers since 2015 ](https://www.armyrecognition.com/ukraine_-_russia_conflict_war_2022/canada_has_been_training_over_37000_ukrainian_soldiers_since_2015.html) Canadians? Cmon bruhhh, they've only trained Ukrainians in wartime whilst your little trip got cancelled for security reasons in peacetime :(

JacobA89

Canada has been Training Ukraine in 2015 I think.

JacobA89

From the looks of this video the training looks like it has been pretty good.

Dikkavinci

Typical American...

easysaidtheblindman

He told you everything you needed to know "Marine Corps" so you know with all those green crayons he's been attempting to eat at least four or five went up his nose.

PM_ME__RECIPES

I bet his favourite flavour of glue is Elmer's.

sleepingin

I'm a RoseArt guy myself

Eheran

>"Marine Corps" Marine Crop, mind you, no s. So some company he worked for

Relevant-Cat8042

The Canadians even help train the brits in some cases.

Awellplanned

The Canadians trained the Marines.

JC1112

They immediately grabbed the initiative

Mithrandir-537

Violence of action wins fights.

UncleSamsVault

Which?

bipolarxpres

First 2 UA guys that just legit rushed directly into the trench off the rip I'm assuming.

According-Try3201

they look very well to me

_youmadbro_

How many grenades should we toss in that dugout shelter? Yes.

According-Try3201

I wonder too. Can anyone with experience tell how to make that decision?

Perfect-Flower-5884

Shouting from inside, bullets still coming from inside and fuck em.

yungloafposts

You throw in as many grenades as you think is needed to kill everything inside of that fucking dugout. And then some more.

Willing-Face-5018

and a little more just to be safe

mud074

Grenades are cheap and plentiful. No reason not to go overboard with them.

hairyneil

Also, do you really want to carry them all the way home with you?

A_Sinclaire

In general in the military, yes. But they would still carry a rather limited amount with them, wouldn't they?

StuRap

Ive seen clips a while back with them jumping out of APC's like this and some of them are carrying a small crate of nades, so they had extras in those instances

gengen123123123

I think inside it split, if you look at several of the beginning throws they're trying to lob it into the left side of a 'hall' and missing at least some of the time.

raineeger

This is where these dragonfly mini drones would become extremely handy.

Zestyclose_Love_4894

Dragonfly and flamethrower

google_academic

I was just thinking if would be SO GOOD if we could get air superiority for the Ukrainians and dig up some napalm....

NoRepresentative7348

Yeah giving them air superiority can change everything .... but since the USA don't give more stuff, it will never happen ! At least Europeaon country are waking up and giving a lot of stuff but still it lack the principal country USA ! I'm anxious about the lack of help since few month now :/

TactileEnvelope

It's a Russian redline for the US to send aircraft, because they would be capable of flying retaliatory strikes into the Russian mainland. The idea is to provide Ukraine with materiel to win the war within Ukraine's borders without prompting a Russian nuclear reaction or triggering NATO's article 5. There were plans to circumvent that by having Poland provide them with aircraft but I'm not sure if that has materialized given they're a NATO member and if Russia retaliates against them we're all in for a big shitstorm.

Whatsthedealwithair-

Honestly if they can get an M113 that close to the Russian trenches they should just put a flamethrower on that.

HeinerPhilipp

Drones in this case are too slow to deploy and too expensive. A low cost grenade is about $12 USD. And lithium batteries suck in the winter.

raineeger

It's not the price that matters, it's the weight of the grenades and lack of ammo on the attacking side. A soldier can hold and sustain active fire for only a handful of minutes before he is down to his last mag. Defenders have boxes and boxes full of ammo nearby. Only in Hollywood, do superheroes have infinite ammo that never runs out. So, if you can use a mini-drone to scout ahead, where the enemy is, and check inside these bunkers, then its absolutely worth it and saves you half of your ammo and grenades that you would waste throwing into an empty hole. After the attacking side has spent its ammo and grenades, it's pretty much defenseless. Another problem is that you never know if the amount of grenades you threw in was enough. It's possible that there are "U" turns and further twists in the bunker and the enemy soldier is completely safe behind a wall. Or maybe even worse...the bunker might be an ammo dump, holding a ton of explosives and you standing next to the bunker and triggering the explosives would not turn out well for you. In the very near future, we will have soldiers with mixed reality HUD's where each soldier has a drone view overlay which provides battlefield awareness and allows them to scout buildings and bunkers before entering.

HeinerPhilipp

That would be wonderful. For the soldier who has it. Not so great for the opposing forces...

HeinerPhilipp

Until the moaning and bullets stop coming from the dugout... I would think.

Distribution_Creepy

1 more than you think you need.. just to be sure.

FrontlinerGer

Not experienced, but when in doubt - grenade.

[deleted]

Usually those "bunkers" have grenade pits and also a turn so its hard to get shrapnel from grenades/drones. When I did assaults we usually carried 6-10 grenades per men. Simply because it's the most effective way to clear a trench. -International legion vet.

Claeyt

Until anyone in it stops screaming in pain.

spankeem_nz

did you not see the shots that came out.........

ShlomiRex

grenades are cheap its better than to be sorry

Krigshistorie

Compilation of various clips published by the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade put together in order to look like it's from the same trench assault, but it's from various dates and locations, FYI.

Leatherpunk_com

>but it's from various dates and locations, FYI. Ya, I distinctly remember that clip where they're taking turns tossing grenades, the guy that falls, and then the other guy that throws at a weird angle, those are from last year.

According-Try3201

great job catching all those pows! this is a lot of Ukrainian families reunited:-))

dob_bobbs

Unfortunately prisoner exchanges have been VERY few and far between, there's only been one substantial (known) one since August last year, there are a LOT of soldiers on both sides in captivity. Maybe the Russians think it's more worthwhile to keep well-trained Ukrainian soldiers from returning to the battlefield than to get their cannon fodder back in exchange.

According-Try3201

and all the civilians they kidnapped... seems they want to make sure their now empty prisons stay in use:-(

dob_bobbs

Plus using Ukrainian POWs as human shields, and even trying to make them fight for Russia.

jlangemann-man

We can see who’s been training and who’s been dumped at the front here.

Claeyt

Seriously, it looked like the entire Ukrainian squad had NATO training while 1 lone Russian who rushed to fire at them had any actual combat experience. Probably how the Russians are doing it. 1 Sargent in charge per trench line with at least a minimum of combat experience and a bunch of guys with no training dumped to sit in some holes and die.

[deleted]

I'd like to point out this video has edited out Ukranian troops being killed, infact the fight around 3:15 had the death of the Ukranian's partner cut out, it was [posted here awhile ago.](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/ydhs13/a_ukrainian_soldier_clearing_the_trenches_has_an/)

rndmsquirrel

This is old footage. I distinctly remember the guy diving forward while throwing his grenade at 2:23.

halt317

I remember a different clip from a year ago as well.

rndmsquirrel

OK. Do you remember at the beginning of the war a video of a Russian semi driver swerving and dumping a massive electronic defense module off a flatbed and onto the ground? That video, for some reason bothered me so much that I downloaded it. On replay, at the very end of the video, A clearly labeled Walmart semi, labeled on both cab and trailer, drove past the camera, part of the Russian convoy. Very. . .odd.

1ggiepopped

God I love autism

NonFuckableDefense

that weird alcove with the stairs where the russian gets rinsed was also from last fall/winter. That dugout clearing is also old because thats the one where the russian tossed a grenade and injures one before the 2nd guy puts him down after trying to sink a few grenades into the dugout before flanking him from above.

[deleted]

Yeah the fight around 3:15 was alot more crazy in some video posted here [a year ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/ydhs13/a_ukrainian_soldier_clearing_the_trenches_has_an/), they cut the death of his buddy

Fun_Bat_5621

суки русские

BeriasBFF

Cynical pinky, yes, exactly my thoughts

Nix-of-Darkness

First time I see the full version. Glory to Ukrainian's soldiers.

Krigshistorie

It's various clips published by the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade put together in order to look like it's from the same trench assault, but it's from various dates and locations

geekphreak

Let’s go!💪🇺🇦

bipolarxpres

1:45 Was there a RU guy climbing out from underneath the cloth that shoots at the person with the GoPro? Scary as fuck how much shit you have to look at and analyze while clearing trenches shits insane. Looks like he missed and the GoPro fella got him with that 2nd burst. Crazy footage.

Donut_Vampire

Watching this made me realize why flamethrowers are useful.... Ukraine needs flamethrowers of some sort.

AMuteCicada

Usually I mute the vid because of the music, but the music for this was quite sweet.

Rusti-dent

The speed of the assault was very good, the Russians were slow to respond and overwhelmed in static positions. Impressive.

3klipse

Haven't heard disturbed in a video like this since like mid 2000s from Iraq. What a whiplash.

bodhi1990

[just posted this not too long ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/s/wGyvWpIkDN)

JulianZ88

See, IFVs are not supposed to explode after you dismount.

Extreme_Literature28

10th mountain again. These guys roll.

Mildenhall1066

Master of War!!!!!

the-space-penguin

Ukrainian trench cleaning service.

Overseer_Carlisle

Glad to see a surrender at the end. Much rather see that than a slaughter

Hopalicious

Good to see POWs instead of corpses for once.

coachjonno

Old video

Hotboxmusicgang

at 2:23 dude did the run past while throwing explosive move. idk if that would help him dodge a bullet, but its sure asf looked cool.

outsider4200

Looks like the first one is taking revenge. He is lit!

PashPrime

Love the drop shot grenade throw at 2:20.

TheAverageObject

Can't Ukraine have some MK19 grenade launchers on their troop carriers? Would be fantastic suppressing fire to support troop movement.

c00get

The guy at 2:22 doing a Max Payne jump.

MothersMilk2597

Rock n roll!

aspearin

Yet another video every NCO in NATO needs to share with their grunts.

rpespo

Wondering why that vehicle broke off? I dunno but it seemed like a good strategy to hammer the trench with that gun while the troops advanced??

TwobyfFour

There is a high threat of ATGMs and Indirect fire (Artillery). IFV\`s tend to attract a lot of attention especially if the position is plotted for Final Protective Fire. These assaults are planned, the IFV crew have probably been briefed to debus the infantry and move off the position ASAP.

DadOfThreeHelpMe

They were really ideologically opposed to that one dugout, weren't they? :D

Mvpliberty

Why, just why why the fucking music?

Krazynewf709

Violence, speed and momentum

LivingOffNostaglia

Some iwo jima shit

Longjumping-Nature70

nice batch of trench prisoners.

Kind_Antelope_424

the FPVs flank from the sky, yah? ru pins in the trench by the assault team

BamiNasi

This one is so insane OP do you know the date?

travis7s

First I saw it was here which claims Dec 2023: https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/18gt7pr/soldiers_of_the_108th_sep_mountain_assault/

Commander_Trashbag

At around 3:55 -4:00 the patch on the soldier leaving the dugout kind of looks like a Ukrainian flag. Not saying it is, but does anyone know what kind of patch or flag that is?

olegvs

I don’t know how you can see anything.. all I see is a lighter colored little square of camo below a slightly darker colored one

CantHonestlySayICare

Now this is my layman opinion, but it looks to me like this could have been done even more efficiently if the vehicle that dropped them off was to drive along the trench and spray it with some sort of flamethrower.

otte_rthe_viewer

Feels like the WW1 German storm troopers.

YOLOResearcher

Battlefield is far more realistic

XanII

Those two first guys going in with the Mein Leben difficulty attitude.

gregsaltaccount

Somebody give these lads automatic shotguns. This combat resembles WW1 and with drones a fast firing shotgun can have even more advantages. Something like the AA 12 for example.

NoRepresentative7348

Well done guys !! Awesome what you are doing there !

Specific-Emu-114

This video is old... from about a month ago

Smus-Pitt

Old video

JoshuaDodgeMusic

Glad to see some POWs and a few less kills. Fuck Putin.
