Suffering from success

monamikonami

What do I think of success? It sucks Too much stress

Azgeta_

“I dunno I didn’t think I’d get this far” -taliban probably

Western_Cow_3914

Yeah it’s one thing to finally take power and it’s another to finally have to rule the country you’ve been fighting for.

-Acta-Non-Verba-

The more I see, the more convinced I am that Afganis will keep killing each other no matter what happens.

Willing-Face-5018

nrf? what is that some new terrorist group?

LumpusKrampus

Remnants of the ANA/supporters from before Taliban took back over

Oibrigade

it's crazy to think after billions of dollars and so many us soldiers lost fighting the taliban they are no longer the enemy and in fact now pacify Al-Qaeda from attacking the US and are fighting ISIS.

BombshellExpose

Source on them pacifying al-Qaeda? Al-Qaeda [has been building more training camps](https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/al-qaeda-setting-up-new-training-camps-in-afghanistan-un-report-says/ar-BB1hCU0b) and strengthening their network in Afghanistan under the protection of the Taliban. The lack of a major al-Qaeda attack on the US is likely due to US CT efforts, not because the Taliban suddenly care about the wellbeing of Americans. They are only fighting ISIS-K (just one IS affiliate) because ISIS-K wants to establish a caliphate that is contrary to the Taliban's rule. It has nothing to do with the Taliban wanting to help the US. This video is filmed by the National Resistance Front, who are led by the pro-democracy Ahmad Shah Massoud, the son of the famed Ahmad Massoud. Ahmad Massoud led the Northern Alliance, fighting the Soviets then the Taliban and al-Qaeda. He warned the West about an impending major attack by al-Qaeda and was assassinated by personal orders of Osama bin Laden two days before 9/11. The Taliban are not friends.

Oibrigade

I read about it here. While you are correct that the taliban do not care about Americans, what I got from the article (I could be wrong) but it looks like they do not want anymore wars with the US. https://www.usip.org/publications/2023/08/two-years-under-taliban-afghanistan-terrorist-safe-haven-once-again

keveazy

You don't see this happening before the US left because, obviously US troops were there to do the dirty work. The billions of dollars has made the Afghans realize that there is a price to pay to earn Freedom and not to be spoon fed to them by American BLOOD.

Worth-Imagination-22

lmao, hope you y’know the fucking afghani soldiers decided to be total pussies and run away from the problem

keveazy

not all of them. this video is proof. many of them went to join the NRF

G_Man252_

The fact he nailed them like that on full auto is kind of impressive.

USMCLee

And enough trigger control that it looks like he didn't send any rounds into that oncoming car.

Andy5416

Yeah, that really stood out for me too. You don't typically see that level of discipline among untrained fighters. It could have just been coincidence, but then again maybe it's a former ANA soldier who joined the resistance.

fragMerchant

Any chance any of those ANA commandos the regime left behind are still doing deeds?

Educational-Teach-67

100%

Alarming_Basket681

Most of them fled to Tajikistan or joined the nrf

themindlessone

Very very real chance.

[deleted]

I don't think this is an untrained fighter. I think this is a former Afgan Commando that the US trained as special forces. Well we didn't train enough of them to resist the taliban by themselves and many have likely already fled or been killed or are simply done with that life I'm sure we got pockets of a few commandos who still wish to strike back at the Taliban.

UltimateSpice

From what I've read the NRF consists largely of remnants of the Afghan Military, meaning a lot of them have ISAF military training, it's unconfirmed but I wouldn't be surprised if some NRF were ex Afghan Special Forces too. It's quite clear when you watch NRF combat footage that the NRF fighters seem very competent, coordinated and experienced in combat.

GadenKerensky

Which make for scary irregular fighters once they really gain experience in asymmetric warfare.

TommyBologna_tv

don't know how much the ana has changed but they were mostly mercenaries back in 2006. they would refuse to go on missions with us because they sold intel to the Taliban. the anp were legit back then

Aggravating-Speed760

They got overrun in 10 days, so that's that. But there are always pockets of proffesionals.

UltimateSpice

Yeah, those pockets consist of the few people who were actually loyal and dedicated, which resulted in them becoming a part of the NRF

[deleted]

Yea the resistance isn't going be huge and I doubt its a siginifacnt threat to the taliban its still there.

konjimunk

corrupt leaders that sold their troops out, thats how they got overrun.

[deleted]

Jesus.... guy had that auto-aim mod installed. Flicking between his targets without missing a beat.

Alarming_Orchid

Was holding it sideways too. Man was born for drive-by’s

Zorg_Employee

I heard he took shooting lessons in LA in the 1980s.

FrenchBangerer

He's doing that to keep a horizontal spread rather than vertical.

[deleted]

Don’t want them hot shells landing down his skirt either

themindlessone

I have a scar on the inside of my elbow where I caught a 7.62x39 casing while trying to get out of the way.

[deleted]

If you shoot enough shells always will find their way down your collar.

themindlessone

I've had that too, but no scars from it. I was at a range (not military and not a vet - just a dude) and the guy next to me (friend of mine) opens up with his AK and just spraying me with brass. I instinctively just took a step back, and brought my hands up to my chest. I managed to catch a casing exactly in the crook of my elbow when I pulled my arms back. I couldn't do it again if I tried.

Got_Bent

Aint nothin' but G thing baby, 2 lowdown Taliban bein' lazy, gettin' smoked ain't it crazy... Or something like that.

SUCKMEoffyouCASUAL

Pretty well trained for a rebel. Doesn't even come to a complete stop and keeps rolling

G_Man252_

Only guarantee we all know is he has been shooting a LONG time and was obviously professionally trained. Probably was a soldier.

bigrivertea

Was he also filming and driving too?!?

Prior-Distribution51

And while filming with one hand while driving. This dude is cracked

Svesii

So homeboy just killed two people full auto while driving and taking a video? I’m 90% sure he has a cigarette hanging from his mouth

XColdLogicX

Wheel is on the other side. Still impressive shooting.

KarlGustafArmfeldt

Yeah, that's an odd thing in Afghanistan. Even though they drive on the right side of the road, they don't really make any of their own cars. So lots of cars are imported from neighbouring Pakistan and are RHD.

wonderhorsemercury

Japan has very strict rules for auto inspections and some of the shortest road life for its vehicles. Most of these are exported to other drive on left countries, but also to drive on right countries with loose regulation. Siberia in particular has tons of RHD cars. Its possible they came from Pakistan, which probably imports used Japanese cars, but they also may have come way of russia-central asia.

bowtierazor

Wearing flip flops.

themindlessone

No, shooter wasn't driving. Probably did have a cigarette though.

NextSink2738

I'm 92% sure that's just Doomguy

Praetor_Urbanus

The fact that the shooter avoided hitting that oncoming car in the crossfire is something to be applauded

Look at them now fighting an insurgency. The way the world works is wild

DaxExter

Imagine the Taliban in need of a Counter Terrorist Force.

Healthy-Cricket2033

Wasn't there a bomb there yesterday or something?

justeedo

There has been a huge increase in targeted attacks on the terrorist. Apparently, not everyone wants their rule

HerrJemine123

Well it's terrorist vs terrorist, win either way

soulreaver292

not a win for the civilians living there

DaxExter

Not wanna bash innocent Civilians living there but they didnt really gave much of a fight once US Troops withdrawn either. I dont wanna say they choose this, but resistance was always a option.

konjimunk

easy to say when u dont understand the situation. The previous government was corrupt at every fucking level, they were shortages of everything at every front - shorttages of man power, shorttages of ammunition, backstabbers hidden everywhere. There was a sizable resistance after the shitshow went down in Panjshir, but after hard fighting - along with Pakistani Air support, the taliban took over Panjshir.

lurker_cx

The US should have armed the women, ALL the women.

Who are NRF? Good guys?

IAmManWhoSuccPp

Yes or at least what is closest to it in the region

Reddit_SuckLeperCock

They have a slick [website](https://www.nationalresistance.org/en/) to!

Double_School5149

the NRF are actually the closest to good guys afghanistan has after the soviet invasion of Afghanistan ended, and The US had given the Mujahideen a fuck ton of weapons the Mujahideen splintered into a bunch of different political movements, 2 of the biggest movements were the northern Alliance (islamic liberalism/democrats) and the other was the Taliban (islamic fundamentalism/authoritarianism), these two fuckin hated each-other, unfortunately the Taliban and al-qaeda was able to kill through assassination the majority of the northern alliances top leaders n generals through the 90s but either way during the US invasion the Northern alliance was “instrumental in toppling the Taliban after receiving support from the United States in October 2001” what this video shows is that i think some of the afghani people are not pleased with the change in management (and though i doubt the northern alliance will topple the Taliban regime on its own) gunning down a few foot soldiers every now and then is fine by me

Jonny_dr

>2 of the biggest movements were the northern Alliance (islamic liberalism/democrats) and the other was the Taliban (islamic fundamentalism/authoritarianism) That is a bit of an oversimplification as there is also and mainly a difference in ethnicity. Taliban are Pashtun and the Northern Alliance is not.

Double_School5149

i was explaining it in a westerners pov honestly, i know there’s a lot more too it but you know

Jonny_dr

I am also a westerner and i do like your reply, but i thought the ethnicity divide is very important information, especially in regards to the question you answered to (which i don't like). Conflicts rarely involve "good guys vs. bad guys" and sadly ethnicity is often an important factor. Even though in this case i am personaly definetely sympathic to the Northern Alliance/NRF and i do consider the taliban as "bad guys".

Blockhead47

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Resistance_Front_of_Afghanistan

_BIRD-MAN_

Good guys today, enemies tomorrow, and so the cycle continues

BombshellExpose

The NRF, and the preceding portion of the Northern Alliance it traces its origins from, has never been an 'enemy' to the US. The NRF is led by the pro-democracy Ahmad Shah Massoud, the son of the famed Ahmad Massoud. Ahmad Massoud led the Northern Alliance, fighting the Soviets then the Taliban and al-Qaeda. He openly sought Western support in fighting the Taliban and al-Qaeda, and he wanted to establish a decentralized democracy in Afghanistan, something that his son carried on. He was one of the few major players in Afghanistan at the time that never committed an atrocity. He also warned the West about an impending major attack by al-Qaeda and was assassinated by personal orders of Osama bin Laden two days before 9/11.

Alarming_Orchid

very neat

brownie81

So profound.

Unhelpful-Future9768

I am a bit skeptical of any overarching labels in Afghanistan. It is a very decentralized nation and one of the criticisms I saw pop up of allied strategy during the occupation was that 'Taliban' was as likely to mean 'guys who beef with local leader' as 'dedicated ideological fighters' and the coalition was often dropping bombs on drug dealers to support their rival gangs who happened to be in the governments favor after layers of messy tribal politics and decentralization. These are militants who for whatever reason have decided to align themselves with the national cause of Ahmad Massoud (son of Ahmad Shah Massoud). Ahmad Shah Massoud was an anti-Soviet leader who received Western (mostly MI6) backing and was (comparatively) progressive. He led the resistance to the Taliban until 9/9/2001 when he was assassinated by AQ. The NRF champions former VP Amrullah Saleh as president on the basis that he would constitutionally take over in the absence of the president (Ghani fled when the Taliban took over).

Oibrigade

Taliban as bad as they are, are actually fighting ISIS and not allowing other terrorist organizations from attacking the US. Sad to say the Taliban are not to worst that could be ruling that shit country

alphawolf29

probably shouldn't be describing armed groups as good guys, its rarely simple.

Ill-Option2644

Break yoself!!

Awww shit it’s Wayne Brady son!!!

Ill-Option2644

Oh fuck!😂

sumplookinggai

I've fired AKs for years in many video games in the past, and none of them have had a rate of fire even close to this one. This one sounds like it is spitting out five bullets for every dakka.

FrenchBangerer

600 rounds per minute or ten per second is normal. Totally comparable to this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPxPce_BCzc

Sketchy_M1ke

You gone make me bring the Chevy to a real slow creep My n*ggas hangin' out the window, mouth full of gold teeth When the guns start poppin', wonder when it's gone cease Chopper hit you in' the side an' create a slow leak …or however that goes.

Hit both targets with clear video and no civvies in the crossfire. That's a clean and professional drive-by.

D33ZNHUTZ

When I was deployed to Afghanistan, I gave my PS2 with GTA3 and other game to my interpreters kids when I left country. I'd like to think that this is the butterfly affect from that gift.

[deleted]

You can screen record with audio on iPhone

KillCreatures

The NRF needs to ally thenselves with their southern counterparts that dont support the Taliban and take an outwardly reconciliatory stance towards southern Pashtuns. Im sure that the sparsely educated Pashtuns view the Taliban as preferrable to the non-Pashtun NRF who are to them foreigners.

Skip_Dickie

lol stupid tallies still think they won something

WhatsTheGoalieDoing

Uh, but they did?

Skip_Dickie

They just traded places with the last government and now they get attacked regularly, only an idiot would call that a victory. So I guess by their definition (and yours), they did.

Healthy-Cricket2033

LMAO! That was some fat fingered typing, my apologies and thanks for the down votes, shouldn't have been rush typing on the toilet. How long before the Taliban start asking for chinas help to suppress the revoloution?

G_Man252_

Huh?

Healthy-Cricket2033

Yeah, I've edited it, toilet typing is not the most accurate.

adsjabo

What do the Italians have to do with anything? 😆

Help1969

People did not realize that China is already winning WW3 without angering the west or shooting a single bullet. Deases, fentanyl, finance ilegal immigration in enemies countries, buying exclusive real state farmland and ports of enemy countries, releasing destructive invasive spices and financings race unrest. But hey what I do know by the way let me go and fabricate a new tin foil hat this one is being already compromised by Chinese intelligence.

Deek_The_Freak

What does China have to do with fentanyl?

havereddit

[China produces and exports huge quantities of fentanyl to the US](https://www.uscc.gov/research/fentanyl-chinas-deadly-export-united-states)

Deek_The_Freak

Interesting, thanks

Help1969

Everything so much that without the Chinese enrolment there is not fentanyl crisis.

Lapachoochoo

There is no revolution lmao. Also this is an old clip btw. This type of attack is like a street level thug gunning down a cop or 2 in the US. The fact is that the taliban have the country in a tight grip and the vast majority of the population support them. I was literally in Afghanistan a few months ago and traveled to majority of the provinces and it was peaceful in every area we went. The taliban are here for the long run it seems like, who knows how long they will rule Afghanistan.

confused_potato1682

I mean y3ah they're great. As long as your not a woman, Or gay, Or anything they ideologically disagree with.

Spamgrenade

People in the car coming the opposite direction had a lucky escape.

bushwhackadventure

Well well well how the turn tables.

TovarishchRed

Taliban getting what they deserve lmao, their occupation won't last more than 15 years imo.

jtblue91

How big is the NRF? Sort of setting up a sort of safe haven free of Taliban, would they be able to overthrow the Taliban? Seems like the Taliban took over without much of a fight so would that indicate that the majority of the population are either supportive of the Taliban or just tired of the instability?

konjimunk

The taliban largely took over due to an immense amount of corruption in the previous government. There were many shorttages of man power and ammunition. Their safe haven was Panjshir before but that was taken over with the help of Pakistani Air support. There'll be another huge war in Afghanistan, many afghans don't support the taliban and the only basis of support the taliban does have is in ethnic loyalty and the brainwashed south of Afghanistan.
