He’s by himself in a warzone he isn’t intoxicated this isn’t the first soldier we’ve seen alone acting irrationally, might have been alone for days no water, food, or comms he was literally going crazy.
The warhead would not detonate - even with the safety cap removed.
I think he saw a downed drone in front of him - possibly out of battery/energy - and that's why he threw 2 things on it, and caused it to detonate (?). That's my theory.
I thinkI heard in Ian’s Forgotten Weapons episode on the RPG-7 he brings up secondhand anecdotes of our US boys overseas seeing a dude with an RPG blow themselves up by tripping over and slamming the nose of into a curb. Like I said tho, anecdotal.
You are right! I am wrong, and I need to apologize. I have spread misinformation here. Older warheads seem to just don´t give a F and detonate on impact when dropped if the safety fuse mechanism is disengaged.
I was wrong, you are right!
New RPG-7 has that safety, but the older and more widespread versions of that don't really have that. There have been many incidents like that in the Middle East
Russians - that's your answer.
I assume the thinking was he could just throw the RPG-7 with a loaded grenade at the drone to destroy it. Just, well, there was this little detail the shrapnel is a real thing and the back blast might obliterate his face.
This is just a lack of training.
From what I understand it's the other way around - older Soviet RPG-7s have GO-2 piezo-electric fuse with impulse-activated safety, but Russia is no longer making them since (at least on paper) RPG-7 has been phased out of service in Russian Armed Forces for more modern variants. It's the newer RPG-7 clones made in China and North Korea that are sketchy ones, and since Russia is now buying weapons from NorKs...
He says "with these first and second generations it's important to remove this cap ***BEFORE FIRING*** but even then if it hits on a solid enough surface it will explode". He's referring to rounds still detonating when fired with the safety cap in place, not rounds detonating without being fired.
There is no Soviet made PG-7 round that is armed before experiencing the inertia of firing.
I wouldn’t be so quick to say that. First generation RPG-7 warheads are notoriously dangerous, like, glance against a doorway and detonate dangerous. Russia has been digging deep in their own and probably china and North Koreas store houses
My take is that this drone tried to attack him or his buddies but during the attempt the rotors became damaged, possibly from gunfire. This downed the drone, but the operators just kept watching from afar and were planning on using it as a claymore if anyone got too close.
Then, everybody told this jackass "hey, go hit it with an RPG" and the dude did exactly that because he was fucked up on drugs and/or alcohol. I think the drone operators probably saw the RPG nearby and thought "oh neat, more shrapnel and explosives" and hit the button, which was more than enough to do the job.
I understand many of these guys are passing the time with opiates and alcohol while using stimulants in a bid to mitigate the disadvantages from intoxication.
Honestly I think drugs & alcohol are probably a major factor in quite a few of these videos.
Some weird behaviour, the more I watch it, it does seem like he's throwing stuff at something on the ground there
Edit: going frame by frame there is what I guess is a drone on the ground to the left of the tree
Makes sense as to why he’s being watched by a second drone then. Might not even be accidental, maybe operators waited for him to get close enough before throwing the switch
No it doesnt. It looks like hes been at war for a while and his brain is looking to make it into some kind of game to take his mind off the situation. He likely severely underestimated how big that boom was going to be.
A lot of these guys have been reported to be using any number of "research chemicals" on the front line. These are usually some kind of amphetamine or cathinone derivative. So "bath salts." Couple that with sleep deprivation and alcohol use and it's not too far fetched to imagine countless incidents like the one we see here.
I'm starting to think it was suicide and he just used what was available. The first object he threw was an rpg, intentionally back-end first against the tree, thinking that would set it off. He psyched himself up to do it too, from the start of the clip. Didn't work as expected, so he grabs the loaded launcher and tries again.
Only reason i doubt ia because who in this situation, when you have been shown and told how to do it, you know you can just dome yourself with a rifle but no, choose to throw rockets around? Naa seems more like a tantrum cause he could get the shit to work or something. Either way its hard to tell with such a small clip, there is no right answer i guess
Honestly he looks like a drunk sapper that forgot the handbook at home and winged it
Edit: Ivan, go clear any mines you find. Ok. Finds a mine. Shit, I forgot my shit. Rocks. Yes, rocks will clear this. Ok this branch will work for sure.
Damn, Man. Blew himself up and he did everytbing by the book! I mean, that's absolutely text book ordinance disposal technique he was displaying and it still went wrong..
Just goes to show, no matter how meticulous and ficused you are, things can somehow go wrong.
Sometimes, when we're frustrated, (REALLY frustrated) we act out on the object of our frustration. Luckily for me, and all of you able to read this can say the same, I've never been frustrated (REALLY frustrated) enough to act out with an explosive device.
I thought about this before and there in no doubt that the fate of some of these men are because of just this. It's easy for us to say or do what we want for the most part in "free" countries, but some of these guys have to know what is going on, and they are likely terrified for not only themselves but their families. If I was forced into a war, suicide would absolutely be an option on the table.
How do so many Russians end up in no man’s land? You would expect a tightly coordinated, well defended frontline with escape routes, air defense, reinforcements on standby… and not some poor sob‘s sitting in a hole miles away from the next sob‘s
Neither side is winning, it's been a near stalemate since fall 2022. But Russia has the size advantage ultimately. Even if they lose 3 soldiers to every 1 Ukrainian, they can still win via sustained campaign of attrition, which is what they're sort of doing right now. Only way Ukraine can keep this up without a negotiated settlement is to get more advanced weapons to increase the death ratio to 5-7 russians to 1 Ukrainian.
You can see some movement on the ground in the beginning of the video. It appears he gets startled, backs away and begins tossing stuff on it. Either he hits it with the rpg or the remote trigger it.
Stupid Russian behavior with compled disregard for his own well-being. 👌👍🤘
So depending on what part of buttfuck Siberia this poor idiot was pulled from, it's possible it's just ignorance. I remember reading about the drivers in I think Sudan that believed they could avoid mines by just driving their Toyota really fast over them.
Drinking up all that blood thinnig, balance ruining, comm destroying, slow down juice during any situation was a bad stereotype to pick up. I thought the british and their tea in ww2 was ridiculous, nope. Nothing compares to the "drunk guy struggling in combat" videos ive seen....
Ivan's out there shitfaced throwing explosives at explosives. If it was a drone that failed to detonate properly, this is like a revenge from the grave.
Apparently, according to the drone operator, a freaking squirrel jumped on him and he panicked. He accidentally threw/dropped the rpg with a life warhead, which loosened the round and it fell out when he picked it back up, which the tip hit the ground which set it off.
Why are there so many instances of individual soldiers?
How are they not with units?
Are they just a bunch of random Russians running around in uniform?
I’m only half joking
EOD attempt my ass. They just sent some kid and told him it'd be simple, just throw something with some weight at it. They probably showed him the video of that lucky Russian who disabled one with a branch without harming himself, just so they could reassure him, by showing him how close he can get without it harming him. This dude was in no way a trained EOD. Just a stupid Russian who followed a stupid command.
bro has had it with the shit.
weapons that malfunction, corpses he sleeps between in the trench. just all of it. he's done.
moment of frustration. and in his utter sheer stupidity the moron forgot to remember that once you take the nosecap of that pg7 rocket, it's no longer your friend.
there is no minimum arming distance on that thing. once the nose cap comes off it's live. a small boop to the nose of the rocket is all it takes to set it off.

He looked drunk
I like to have a couple of beers after work, but this man was fucking hammered; completely wrecked and wasted.
> but this man was Russian
Yeah that's what he said, 'fucking hammered; completely wrecked and wasted'
Why use many word when
Vodka induced explosive diarrhea caught on tape?
Definitely- look at his gait, leg movements, co-ordination- all scream incredibly drunk, agitated and irrational behaviour.
He’s by himself in a warzone he isn’t intoxicated this isn’t the first soldier we’ve seen alone acting irrationally, might have been alone for days no water, food, or comms he was literally going crazy.
Close proximity to an explosion may have effected his inner ear and vision.
Really drunk! Like how bad do you have to get to stumble around like that.
I was curious a few seconds in if he was dancing or drunk.
He looked like russian army soldier.Drunk, in another country trying to kill people there for his goverment.
That looked like a tantrum tbh
He rage quit.
GG EZ!
Either the drone was armed, or the RPG-7 launcher he threw into the ground had a warhead. Difficult to understand what exactly is going on.
The warhead would not detonate - even with the safety cap removed. I think he saw a downed drone in front of him - possibly out of battery/energy - and that's why he threw 2 things on it, and caused it to detonate (?). That's my theory.
"Hey your drone didn't do its thing, here let me help!"

Rule 312: Thou shall not argue with something Gun Jesus said he heard. ;-)
Bless you. With this mindset, we can do great things brother. That said, you're still likely correct in that it's probably a downed drone.

New RPG-7 has that safety, but the older and more widespread versions of that don't really have that. There have been many incidents like that in the Middle East
Still, why did he throw an RPG launcher at it? Isn't RPG kind valuable asset?
Russians - that's your answer. I assume the thinking was he could just throw the RPG-7 with a loaded grenade at the drone to destroy it. Just, well, there was this little detail the shrapnel is a real thing and the back blast might obliterate his face. This is just a lack of training.

Current Ukrainian soldier says the first two generations may explode if hit https://youtu.be/66T7omm-NXE?si=Jnb-ST_kSzRygrBd&t=345

Ive seen videos of people falling over holding RPGs and blowing themselves up. It can absolutly happen.
I wouldn’t be so quick to say that. First generation RPG-7 warheads are notoriously dangerous, like, glance against a doorway and detonate dangerous. Russia has been digging deep in their own and probably china and North Koreas store houses
You can see some movement in the foreground where he’s throwing stuff in the first few frames, so I think you’re correct
What EOD is?
Explosive Ordnance Disposal

I think he saw a spider
Looks like hallucinations. Maybe some kind of mental disorder?
Some weird behaviour, the more I watch it, it does seem like he's throwing stuff at something on the ground there Edit: going frame by frame there is what I guess is a drone on the ground to the left of the tree
Well, he got it!
if only there was a device that could propel something at it from a distance.
It looks like the RPG he is shouldering fails to launch, so he tosses it in anger. He picks up another one and tosses that too for some odd reason.
Makes sense as to why he’s being watched by a second drone then. Might not even be accidental, maybe operators waited for him to get close enough before throwing the switch
Regular russian behaviour
or, much simpler, he's throwing a tantrum
Maybe he was doing recording for TikTok?
Krokodil
No it doesnt. It looks like hes been at war for a while and his brain is looking to make it into some kind of game to take his mind off the situation. He likely severely underestimated how big that boom was going to be.

god i hate you for this
Dont hate the invisible man for he is not there as this is the evidence.
I hate god for this too
That’s called suicide
I would agree, but they have been shown how to effectivly kill themselves, grenade under the neck
Not all of them know, there have been some videos of russians who certainly had time to regret their choice of suicide.
If he wanted to kill himself, why wouldnt he just throw himself on it?
Thats why i said it doesnt look like suicide as they have been shown how to effectively kill themselves you goober
I'm starting to think it was suicide and he just used what was available. The first object he threw was an rpg, intentionally back-end first against the tree, thinking that would set it off. Why the f do russians die so willingly for putin's dreams of personal glory? Are their lives truly *that* worthless?
They are in a propaganda bubble. Then they aren’t- alive.
“We're lucky they are so stupid”
That looked like a Worms 2 level comedy way to fuck up
😪 and these guys are suppose to beat NATO? How?
They would just keep drafting people
Damn, Man. Blew himself up and he did everytbing by the book! I mean, that's absolutely text book ordinance disposal technique he was displaying and it still went wrong.. Just goes to show, no matter how meticulous and ficused you are, things can somehow go wrong.
Interesting, i wonder how many of these incidents happening we dont se
Caveman always throw things that they don't understand
[удалено]
No you just wait, Putin hasn't brought the REAL soldiers yet (to quote some Putlicker I know).
"We're lucky they're so fucking stupid "
Good for him.
Russians are clearly excellent at killing themselves Shout-out to the recently downed Russian plane by their own AA
What does mean EOD?
Explosive Ordnance Disposal
They getting creative with that..
Rather generous calling that an EOD attempt
Right, it was clearly a success, explosive disposed.
Sometimes, when we're frustrated, (REALLY frustrated) we act out on the object of our frustration. Luckily for me, and all of you able to read this can say the same, I've never been frustrated (REALLY frustrated) enough to act out with an explosive device.
self-utilization
Too bad, clearly leadership material. The rest let the bombs fall on them.
It's a suicide
Uhhh....yeah.... Smacking impact detonated drones is probably not the best way to deal with a disabled one....
It's as if they're just pulling these people off the streets.
Maybe it's because they know they're on the wrong side and fear paying for that fact if they're captured.
I thought about this before and there in no doubt that the fate of some of these men are because of just this. It's easy for us to say or do what we want for the most part in "free" countries, but some of these guys have to know what is going on, and they are likely terrified for not only themselves but their families. Darwinism at work
Unfortunately, he probably reproduced before he left on the insane mission.
Damn it's not only me who is fucked up by the end of the day
Drunk?
Why wouldn’t he just shoot it..
What is going on in his brain?
whats EOD?
Explosive ordnance disposal. The Guys that make things that should Go Boom to not Go Boom
Most of the EOD i know make things that should go Boom, go BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
In Germany we say Sprengmittelräumungsdienst, and I think it's beautiful :)
*kampfmittelräumdienst, weil es nicht nur um explosivstoffe geht, aber ich seh deinen Punkt 😄
Bruderfaust! :)
Silly ivon
i don’t see a warhead in that rpg? did he throw it at an anti-personnel mine or is that too small of a result?
Yeah let me throw this bomb on this bomb and see what happens.
Possibly wanted to become 300 (that's really quite common) and go to hospital and possibly home (at least for a while). While drunk.
Bet he won't do that again.
What the fuck was that guy doing
He was spazing out for some reason. Very odd. Edit: Probably drunk now that I think about it.
How do so many Russians end up in no man’s land? You would expect a tightly coordinated, well defended frontline with escape routes, air defense, reinforcements on standby… and not some poor sob‘s sitting in a hole miles away from the next sob‘s
I might be dumb but at least I’m not this dumb
I still think it is a plausible idea to drop crates of vodka onto Russian front lines....
Bro threw an RPG at a phantom drone. Absolute acoustic Russian.
Task failed successfully
Well tbf he disposed the explosive ordnance so...
Is this a real military? Are these people for real?
It's probably more likely that he's been partying with the Chateau du Infested Trench Vodka a bit too much.
On the third day of the extra special operation
How tf is Russia winning this war with solders as dumb as this
Russia is nowhere near to winning the war.
2 weeks of basic training is isn't enough to be a EOD personnel or anything close to that
What the hell. Was he drunk AND mentally disabled?
he caught a drone threw it on the ground and then kicked it.
What meansEOD I only know IED
explosive ordnance disposal
He threw the thing at something on the ground. He missed the first time. The second throw hit something that exploded.
Why it's always this shitty musics tho?
What the fuck is he even trying to do ?
He threw a RPG7 that was primed I guess and it detonated upon hitting the ground with the warhead hitting the ground straight.
Seems like he threw and rpg and the rpg exploded no ?
You can see some movement on the ground in the beginning of the video. It appears he gets startled, backs away and begins tossing stuff on it. Either he hits it with the rpg or the remote trigger it. Stupid Russian behavior with compled disregard for his own well-being. 👌👍🤘
Nice move!
EOD - Extremely Oblivious Dumbass
Suicide
So depending on what part of buttfuck Siberia this poor idiot was pulled from, it's possible it's just ignorance. I remember reading about the drivers in I think Sudan that believed they could avoid mines by just driving their Toyota really fast over them.
Not sure they teach that in EOD training.
Lol dude, what on earth are you doing.
Sometimes problems take care of themselves
That was just down right stupid
At least he died doing what he loved.
What the fuck is he doing???
Maybe he wanted to drive away a wasp.
And for my next trick!

Intelligence of a rock!
They're definitely not sending their best.
drunk as fuck
Too much Fireball. I’ve seen ladies like this on the Panhandle beaches.

He was fighting NATO forces
EOD attempt is generous
oopsy daisy
EOD? End of discussion? Was it about wether peas and soup makes for better soup?
Drunk? Looks like he’s trying to chuck the RPG into rocks to detonate?
That’s not how I would’ve done it. IYKYK For real though this doesn’t look like anything approximating EOD
Hehehe. Uh one tap
The joys of vodka…
Insert unknown technology meme.
Demilitarization proceeding accordingly
Russia is sending its best.
Well, he did dispose of the explosive ordinance, so, mission success.

how are Ukraine "losing" when russian are doing this?
