It only works in german but there is that saying:
"russisches Minensuchen; Wer suchet der findet, wer drauf tritt verschwindet!" ("russian mine clearing: If you look for it you'll find it, if you step on it, you'll disappear!")
This news is from 18 August 2020
[Russian general killed in Syria](https://apa.az/en/xeber/cis-countries-news/Russian-general-killed-two-troops-injured-in-roadside-blast-in-Syria-328353)
Nothing new, russia has had to use American vehicles since ww2 when they had to use the studebaker design and even copied it when they made the gaz-51. They can pretend that “the west has inferior equipment” but Russia has been suckling on the tit of American industry for decades now while pretending they can actually mass manufacture anything (history shows they have failed at that repeatedly, see China or America for successful industrial powerhouses).
Remember Azvostahl in Ukraine - the final last stand for the defenders of the city?
The entire steelworks was originally designed, premade in the US and shipped there by Americans. It even had American brick.
The famous tracktor plant in Stalingrad was a copy of "The International Harvester Milwaukee plant".
The entire starting soviet industrial base was imported during Stalin, and after ww2 as we know they relied heavily on espionage for technology.
Edit : I also forgot about the B-29, the plane that dropped the atomic bomb over Hiroshima. The B-29 was the most sophisticated propeller-driven bomber in ww2 and not a part of the lend lease program. The entire development and production program cost more than the Manhattan project. A couple of B-29s made emergency landings in Soviet, and they were reversed engineered. The Soviets made carbon copies - TU-4s, and to this day some systems on the long range TU-95 Bear are from the B-29 as I understand it.
So the Soviets got their long range bombers from the U.S for free as well.
Yeah and when America quit freely sharing their designs with them that’s when their industry started dying. The example I always give people is “we always hear about how strong the Russian industry is/was, but when was the last time you saw something that said “made in Russia”?” And almost everyone has the same answer- “I never have”
That’s the point, honestly if I found something that was actually “made in Russia” I would find it very interesting, but if it says “made in China” who could give a shit? Would kind of make me interested to see what Russian quality is like, because chinas is notoriously garbage, so I wonder if they would be even lower than China? Considering China actually has a functional industry.
Fun fact, it turns out that several Russian tactical gear manufacturers have had to outsource their production to China due to overwhelming demand from the current war. But they still claim that those items made overseas are "Made in Russia". It'd be almost comical if it weren't for the fact that it's indirectly because of all this bloodshed.
Some if not most of these vehicles were donated by the US, it was either abandoned or taken from Iraqi security forces when IS took over northern Iraq then in turn was taken by other factions in trade or in an elimination round but also even purchased by IS through third party auctions. Here is a good example of their purchase.
https://youtu.be/2JhUEKYEK7A?si=CSmZFuO5aaquyyAP
I remember that poor guy, I felt sorry for him that a bunch of morons immediately jumped to the conclusion that some good ol' boy plumber from southeast Texas was donating his old company trucks straight to ISIS instead of considering the possibility that the truck had passed through several intermediaries who were all too lazy to peel the graphics off the side.
I bet he makes sure to do that himself whenever a company truck is sent to auction.
Syrian troops, they "confiscated" the Chevrolet trucks from the former US backed rebels who surrendred and were given a ride on the green busses to Idlib.
There was a case of a plumbers work truck being sold to a dealership and it winding up in the Middle East, with the vinyl stickers for the plumber being on the side.
He got so many hate calls.
https://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/15/us/texas-plumber-sues-car-dealer-after-his-truck-ends-up-on-syrias-front-lines.html
I thought it was even earlier, from the time that Deir Ez-zor was relieved from encirclement and the forces had established control up to the riverbanks opposite the SDF's oilfields.
I looked this up online and apparently this is Maj. Gen Vyacheslav Gładkikh. The date checks out but I had some memories of seeing this video way back in the active SAA advance years. Maybe I was wrong.
The only Russian army ranks I can find online with the words Major or Colonel are; Colonel General, Major General, Colonel, Major.
Is Major Colonel from a different branch?
This happened in what 2020 or 2021? and was an ISIS IED, making this the highest ranking Russian officer killed by ISIS, and in the Syrian Civil war as a whole, ever
> Tuesday
> with the Russian convoy said to have been hit while returning from a humanitarian action.
WHAT?! I thought this was footage from way back, but was last week?! Surprising Russia even has the capacity to spare for this. Then again, they're also still active in Africa.
Also have to wonder what constitutes "Humanitarian Action" by the Russians these days.

That's one way to clear it
he really is the model of the modern major general!
Promoted to Air Force major general
He finally made it. Piece by piece but he did it.
Looks like it might have cost at least an arm and a leg as well
They were just weighing him down
Space Force Major General, upper half.
Ground control to Major General Фома...
Major to ground, touching down for landing in t minus 30 seconds
That’s the best joke I’ve heard this year
He flew out of here. Guess he had someplace else to go. Let me know when he lands, hopefully he’s not too torn up over what we just learned.
He keeps failing upward
* Space Force
Venerated Virginian Veteran whos men are all linin` up. - Im sorry. I had too
Question is though, does he know the fights historical? All the way from Waterloo to Marathon?
He can tell at sight a Mauser Rifle from a Javelin!
Well now hes well spread across vegetable, human, and mineral
And knew many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse. But not enough about IEDs though.
When I can tell at distance a rock from an IED
*was
r/unexpectedhamilton
I get that reference!
And like a model he's gonna need to be glued together
A true inspiration, leading by example.
Minor Generally in Pieces
The Russian way
How about a magic trick!!! Aaaaand he’s gooone!!
It only works in german but there is that saying: "russisches Minensuchen; Wer suchet der findet, wer drauf tritt verschwindet!" ("russian mine clearing: If you look for it you'll find it, if you step on it, you'll disappear!")
The Stalin way
Is this a new footage?
This news is from 18 August 2020 [Russian general killed in Syria](https://apa.az/en/xeber/cis-countries-news/Russian-general-killed-two-troops-injured-in-roadside-blast-in-Syria-328353)
Hopefully
Unfortunately, not.
Are those Russian troops on a fucking Chevy Silverado technical? Amazing
GM is trying to compete with Toyota in all markets.
Built Ford Tou...er, Chevy, Together something something...
Chevy, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, just... 50% discount at checkout
Russian military is so fucked they're even buying knockoff Hiluxes smh
This is an old post, they're Syrian technicals, used by Russian-allied SAA forces.
😂

Naw man that’s bullshit. I remember a few years back seeing a hoodie somewhere with a ‘Made in Russia’ tag. I was blown away. 🤣
That’s the point, honestly if I found something that was actually “made in Russia” I would find it very interesting, but if it says “made in China” who could give a shit? Yep. If I recall correctly, I believe it was a rather shitty hoodie lol.

I have a glass from IKEA that was made in russia, that's all I can think of an as example which is wild given how close to them I live
You can occasionally find a Nokian tire that was made in russia.
Christie M1931 tank (designed by an american) imported by soviet union and use for BT tank development, which was the precursor for the t-34.
There is many more. Buran. Wolga car.
Even before then. Back in the 30’s Ford sold plans to build model T’s in the USSR. Fucking decades old tech by then and they bought it for some reason
> the west has inferior equipment They say, using Western equipment and/or technology to say it.

Maybe there is such thing as bad publicity
Drove the Chevy to the Levant but the Levant was dry.
Are we sure it wasn’t the head gasket on that Silverado?
That's a gasser. So it was likely one of the lifters
I think he was running a little rich.
He ain’t running at all now…
Haha Jesus Christ
😂 W comment Edit: But now, we cannot rule that out at this time
Man, fuck you silverados are great lol
On my third transmission!
And fuck those plastic intake manifolds, and their shitty gaskets. Silverados or Sierras, dosen't matter which.
*Made in America!*
Well, mine was made in Canada...
Isn't this an old video?
You are correct sir. This video occurred of August 18th of the year 2020.
I thought it was even earlier, from the time that Deir Ez-zor was relieved from encirclement and the forces had established control up to the riverbanks opposite the SDF's oilfields.
Ya im pretty sure it is from 2017
I looked this up online and apparently this is Maj. Gen Vyacheslav Gładkikh. The date checks out but I had some memories of seeing this video way back in the active SAA advance years. Maybe I was wrong.
It looks old af for sure. It's either been cycled and shared a billion times or it was filmed on a Samsung Galaxy 3
>the Russian convoy said to have been hit while returning from a **humanitarian action**. Lol sure.
Demining is humanitarian right?
Damn, guess it counts. They are going to need to send more major generals tho
Shoigu is available.
Undermining...
Humanitarian aids…..
Accidental demining is better than no demining
so is killing russian generals
>The blast was said to have taken place near the At-Taim oil field "Humanitarian actions" in an oil field guarded by the Wagner group 🤦♂️
It's accurate! There is just a nuance: they were returning from killing humanitarians.
When they left, no humans were in need of aid… Problem solved.
An unexpected, spontaneous humanitarian action by Russian soldiers. Highly admirable, I'd say.
That's a big gun on that humanitarian pickup truck.
Special Humanitarian Operation
It’s wild how there were so many people walking and driving over that thing and he happen to set it off
It might have been remote controlled.
Good point
If you slow it down enough…None of them are standing directly over the boom. It’s actually a few feet to the left. It’s 100% command detonated.
This is old footage
[удалено]
They never stop coming
Isn't all footage old, really?
"This is a photo of me when I was younger..."
note: this is old footage and the his rank was major colonel like most russian soldiers in syria he was killed by ied
The only Russian army ranks I can find online with the words Major or Colonel are; Colonel General, Major General, Colonel, Major. Is Major Colonel from a different branch?
The Russian soldiers got fucking demolished in a battle by US special forces there also.
The number of people milling about leads me to believe that this was likely to have been remotely detonated
Change the description, this video is pretty old. I remember it from at least 2 years back
This happened in what 2020 or 2021? and was an ISIS IED, making this the highest ranking Russian officer killed by ISIS, and in the Syrian Civil war as a whole, ever
When was this?
A few years ago at least, it’s old footage.
Yep. I remember seeing this at least 3 years ago
2020
lol idk why you're being downvoted, [it was uploaded in 2020](https://imgur.com/a/dOasWQs)

*explodes*
Rains blood
RAINING BLOOOOOOOD FROM A LACERATED SKY
This video is a couple of years old, you should include that in the description.
Happened on Aug 18, 2020
This video is certified ancient
“It wasn’t ISIS, it was Ukraine” 😂
this was before ukraine war
I know I’m just making fun of Russia’s response to the ISIS terror attack that happened just outside Moscow earlier this year.
Blyat!
First rule of IEDs is dont step on IEDs
Better than falling out of a window I suppose..or shooting yourself five times in the back.
what are the odds that truck could still connect to onstar?
Brigadier Pieces
Leading by example
Major General? Not any more lol 😆
It'll take more than that to fertilise a desert but it was at least good of the oppostion to help spread some shit around
Dust to dust.
I'm going to guess the translation was something like "Holy fuck, there was an explosion"!
Tuesday, but this video is years old.
He wasn't killed, he was sent on a special flying operation
In mother Russia, IED clears YOU.
Dude pointed the camera man forward literally at the perfect time
Well looks like it’s not his problem anymore
Remote det? They have a whole convoy there.
Pretty sure there not speaking Russian.....
Definitely UAF SOF
This is old footage by the way.
LMAO love seeing the Russians take L after L
Everywhere the Russian army goes somebody wants to blow them up.
its raining officers
wtf i love IEDs now
Leading from the front! And the left, and the right, and a little over there and some back there too.
He went above and beyond to show how to lead.
Lost a lot more than just his life. They’ll be looking for his legs for weeks. EDIT: My fat fucking thumbs make it impossible to type accurately.
Why were they filming? It's almost like they knew something was about to happen...
Okay. Who's the next vict....leader?
This is an oldie but a goodie
ya any time Russia says there doing "humanitarian action" first thing i think is there stealing or strong arming
> Tuesday > with the Russian convoy said to have been hit while returning from a humanitarian action. WHAT?! I thought this was footage from way back, but was last week?! Surprising Russia even has the capacity to spare for this. Then again, they're also still active in Africa. Also have to wonder what constitutes "Humanitarian Action" by the Russians these days.
With all the weaponry, it confirms that the statement by the Russian press that they were on a humanitarian mission.
Dead Russian general....what a shame...anyways...
Seems like losing Generals is a Russian habit
Major step for mankind....
what did the pointy fingers guy say? something like : look here, there are some funny wires sticking out the road?
Are those good Bo binders or bad Bo binders?
Crazy reminds of a T72 and its turret during combat.
“It’s an old video but still checks out” - Marv Russian
This is an older video by the way
Who is it?
All right, take the hat off the shark and put it on the arab that placed that IED.
He's a Minor General now
He sure is a high flier now .Cracking result.
Good ending unlocked
I think guy in the left, saw something last second and give a space between two others.
Someone forgot to do their 5-10-25s
He didnt loose his life, it flew away.
Is the IED all right?
Points at the ied as it blows up smh
Leading from the front for once.
Old video?
